i think they are connected i reckon when a heartless and nobody are in contact they make a unbirth i should explain for example if roxas came into contact with sora when he was a shadow that they would merge and make a unbirth and this may happen with kh3 i was thinking of this and xemnas and xenhorts heatless may become a unbirth but this most likely isnt true and birth by sleep is where the unbirths are from so that will explain more about them

So they can't create Unversed, seeing as how they are in BBS.

 

Keep in mind bbs is ten years BEFORE the first Kingdom Hearts, and a few years BEFORE the apprentices made the heartless.

cella's gotta point there. But I have a feeling that the three are connected in some weird, confusing way. Ven's connected to Sora b/c Ven looks like Roxas and Roxas is Sora's nobody, so there's a connection there. A prequel always clears things up so we shall see how things are in BbS.

The heartless were made from the apprentices.

They created them.

They did not exist until the apprentices screwed around with darkness.

It was stated several times throughout KH2 and i believe it's actually been stated in several interviews.

Ansem kept getting cold feet but Ienzo convinced him to let the apprentices continue, so it's not completely his fault that heartless exist.

I agree with Cella. The heartless were made from the apprentices but (I think) in KH1 is when the heartless trouble started. BBS has been clearly stated 10 years before KH1. So obviously the heartless couldn't have existed then. Although it my seem the Unversed, Heartless, & Nobodies seem similar in some way, the only thing they have seem similar is that they're all big enemies for Sora and the gang. I don't really see anything in common for those three just about what I said.

the ones with the symbols are called Emblem Heartless [and yes there made by both maleficent and other poeple who can control the darkness]
