I know that a lot of you already figure these things will be in BBSv2 (providing it is a game (which I think it will be)), but I figured I should share some research with you guys. I personally think there will be a Mickey campaign in this game, and a lot of these idea's point to that. Or at least him having some serious involvement in the plot...

My take? v2 will have Cid and the gang during the fall of Hollow Bastion. It would be awesome to play this scenario as Mickey, saving people from the sudden increase in heartless as you slowly make your way toward the castle, which could climax in a battle between Mickey and Xehanort, as he is about to throw himself into the darkness. Or better yet, Braig, as he has to slow down Mickey so that he cant stop Xehanort from falling to darkness. In fact.. I like the second idea better. Do that Nomura.

Or: I heard somewhere that Laguna Loire was supposed to be in BBS, so this could be referring to him. I have no source for this, so don't bother asking for one.

Could explain a better reason why Xemnas wants Ven (or his body), apart from the obvious "I want my friend back." I'd prefer it if in Xemnas's insanity he remembered the X-blade idea, and needed Ven as raw materials. But, this would make Xemnas less of a 'tragic hero' and more of an 'asshole'.

 

 

After debugging Traverse Town, the King says to Sora, “That day, your travels began here. Also on that day, I was here too.” Does that mean that the King was in the same place at the same time as Sora adventured into Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts I?

 

Nomura: Seems so. What he was actually doing becomes the previously mentioned “blank time period”, but in this title, it’s implying that the two crossed paths in the same place.

You will be able to play as Mickey in Traverse Town, and will watch from a distance as Sora/Donald/Goofy meet.Probably from one of the many rooftops around there. Maybe you'll have to guide them too one another, while not being seen, somehow? Maybe you will have to fight along side Leon, or Cid could get off his ass and do some fighting. After Sora leaves of course, and Mickey will swear them to silence... For whatever reason.

Mickey and Aqua will meet in the ROD. Probably toward the end of Mickey's campaign. It would be cool to fight a group of darkside with Aqua as an assist character. They could shed some light on why the *(&$ Mickey and Yen Sid have yet to save her.

The Mickey campaign is a very high possibility, as Mickey's story is one of the two tales Nomura wanted to tell that aren't covered yet.

 

We already know that Mickey visited Radiant Garden several times between the end of BBS and its fall, but if he really was there during Maleficent's heartless invasion is, while surely intriguing gameplay-wise, questionable.

Him fighting Xehanort would actually contradict him not directly remembering him in KH II...he only did so after seeing Xemnas the first time. If Mickey and Xehanort had fought the king would surely have remembered that, so Braig is in that scenario not only the better, but also the more plausible option.

 

Another part of the story that we could play as Mickey is after Com's ending when it shows him walking with Riku at the crossroads.The two part ways. Where does Riku go?He goes to see Sora sleeping in the pod of Twilight town during Days. Then he randomly meets Mickey in the twilight town woods,where Riku tells him to remain silent about his whereabouts.Perhaps Mickey was on his way to see Sora too?This needs to be properly explored in the game. And then at the start of KH2, when Sora,Donald and Goofy are getting owned by the dusks, Mickey is on top of the train station and jumps off like a ninja.But what was he doing there? This could maybe be telling us that the Twilight Town chapter will be playable as Mickey.

 

 

 

Mickey in Traverse was actually the starting point of his adventure in the RoD, as he used a random Corridor of Darkness popping up there to get into the RoD.

So yes, that Mickey campaign is highly plausible, only the fall of Radiant Garden I wouldn't count on, as it may create further plotholes, which this entry is normally said to solve.

So this is all I have found so far. What do you think? Some of these ideas sound plausible? Getting excited for BBSv2? I am. Despite only a single trailer and no mention of it since....

I think this sounds awesome! But for some reason khinsider.com doesn't work for me. It used to but now it just searches for ages and then says "Firefox cannot find server at www.khinsider.com." The same problem with kh-vids.net. Any ideas?

Ya know, at the beginning of this series, playing as Mickey would not have appealed to me. Now, the idea of playing the Mouse sounds quite fun.

It would tell the stories of Mickey, Aqua, and Riku in the Dark Realm, similar to how BBS told the stories of VAT in different scenarios. They all meet at some point, and because of Aqua, Mickey and Riku can escape. That's what I hope for.

This title isn't going to be directly TAV's story. I mean they've already made a game devoted to their story. Yeah, Aqua's story in the RoL will be continued, Ven will probably be featured in some dive to heart cutscene, and Terra & MX will probably have a cutscene talking in Apprentice Xehanorts heart. But that's it. The dark realm plot hole isn't the only plot hole, so why would Square make a game for just the RoD's story and not the others?... I doubt Disney would allow the word 'dark' in the title. Also, the name doesn't sound very appealing for people to play it as their first kingdom hearts game.

There is still many tales left untold, such as the ones described in the Ansem reports of Kh1 and the secret ansem reports of kh2. His relationship with Mickey was briefly shown in KH2 where Xehanort interrupts them sayinghe would like to procced in an experiment. According to secret ansem report 2, Mickey came to him at this time and they talked to him about the Keyblade. How DiZ picked his apprentices, them capturing citizens to perform inhumane experiments of the heart on, DiZ telling them to stop, they banish him to realm of nothingness, him writing his reports to remain sane, him controlling his darkness and escaping, the apprentices discovering 'the door' to radiant gardens heart in Ansems lab, them being taken by the darkness, creating 6 heartless' and 6 nobodies.

Then during Days, DiZ putting the results of his research inside Sora.

Another plothole is Mickey's story. We do not know how he knew of Sora in the first place, we need to see him first entering the RoD in TT on his quest to find the Kingdom Key-D. We also know that he was there when Sora met Donald & Goofy. We don't know anything about what he did there.If he met Aqua or not, who knows.We do not know what he and Riku did directly after KH1.We do not know what they did directly after CoM's ending, but we know Riku went to visit Sora in Twilight town afterwards sometime. What Mickey was doing in the woods of Twilight Town during Days has yet to be unveiled. What he was doing when he saved Sora from the dusks outside the Twilight Town station. How he got Roxas's money pouch from Riku and gave it to Sora, and why he was in such a hurry to leave town. Perhaps Riku told Mickey that Sora was waking up , and that he should visit him soon and send him to Yen Sid. What Mickey did between Days and KH2. He next appeared in DiZ's study out of nowhere when Leon was with Sora looking for the password to Diz's computer. After the 1000 heartless battle he chased Xemnas through the portal of darkness , and we don't know where he went.

 

How Riku got his way to dawn has still to be shown aswell. I'm sure there are other holes.

There are more things that Riku did that you didn't mention. How did he come across ansem. What about Riku's side to khdays that would reveal what he was exactly doing under diz. Then comes kh2; we see in fm that he had some apathy towards Namine and Axel. There is also the event in land of the dragons and the dark realm after maleficent rescues them from the heartless in hollow bastion. Then there is the majority of the time which we have no clue of what he was doing.

I didn't take the time to read everything you said (mainly becuase I'm about to start two threads). But I agree with a lot of your point of view.

I would love to play a KH game as Mickey. When I died in a boss battle in KHII and got to fight as Mickey, I was bouncing up and down saying, "This is so awesome!" I'm just not sure if that's what they'll do. Hopefully E3 will shed some light on this probable game.
