Cartoon Network really has some shi77y cartoons on these days

Posted

In case you haven't heard, some guy on youtube named PingasGuy made a petition to help CN realise how much ppl want the 90's classics to come back.

We currently have 427 signatures (Destai_Dream_XIII and *Rikku* contributed) our goal is to have 10,000 (that's a lot I know).

The link to the website is right here: http:// http://www.petitions...artoonCartoons/

The Crappy Era of CN (2004-2011)

Remember Cartoon Cartoon Fridays from the late 90's? Yeah well that used to be the best Cartoon Block on TV. This was one of the greatest things that ever happened to Cartoon Network. I'm sure millions of people would watch Cartoon Cartoon Fridays with excitement. Kids these days know nothing of the greatness Cartoon Network used to be.

I mean seriously how can you watch Chowder, Adventure Time or Johnny Test and call it funny? Seriously Chowder is just a rip off of SpongeBob with the comedy and the writer must be a SpongeBob fanatic becasue the show has a lot of similarites to SpongeBob. Johnny Test isn't really a CN show because it cane off of WB Kids so it gets a freebee. As for Adventure Time... please don't even get me started.

The Golden Age of CN (1997-2003)

Ahhh, these were the good days. Coming back home from school on a Friday night watching Cartoon Cartoon Fridays (oh well of course you would not remeber these memories if you were born during the 21st Century). Even during Cartoon Networks Golden Age there were not a lot of great shows.

Cartoon Networks Golden Cartoons (or classics)

Dexter's Labratory

Cow and Chicken

Johnny Bravo

Ed Edd and Eddy

Courage The Cowardly Dog

The PowerPuff Girls

Time Squad

Sheep In The Big City

Samurai Jack

^These are classic cartoons. These are what kids from the 90's used to watch. These are what kept Cartoon Network from running out of buisness. These are what allowed Cartoon Network to compete with Disney and Nick. These are what you 2002 kids need a dose of.

All I'm saying is the sh^t that comes on Cartoon Network these days is just pure manure, not funny, idiotic, and totally ruined CN. This was back when Cartoons were actually watchable.

Cartoon Networks Silver Age

Kids Next Door

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Camp Lazlo

Star Wars The Clone Wars

These cartoons were okay but not comparable to the classics ^above.

Cartoon Network Pure Manure Age (2004-2011)

Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi

Flapjack

Chowder

Robotboy

Squirrel Boy

The Secret Saturdays

The Amazing World of Gumball *Epic Shi77y*

Adventure Time *Epic Shi77y*

Regular Show *Epic Shi77y*

My Gym Partners a Monkey

Ben 10

And the list go's on...

^These were some of the shows that messed up Cartoon Network and the main reason why people don't watch it anymore.

CN Real

The OtherSiders

Destroy Build Destroy *Extreme Sh7t

BrainRush *More Sh7t*

Tower Prep

Dude What Would Happen?

Okay I take back what I said before. The main reason why Cartoon Network is losing so many viewers is because of CN Real. CN Real has a whole bunch of live-action shows that involve stupid kids doing stupid sh7t. It's not even entertaining and a lot of people over the interntet hate it. People on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Forums, everyone hates it.

And the worst thing about CN Real is it has live action shows in it.

Last time I checked, Cartoon Network is supposed to have Cartoons and Cartoons only in it. Now they decide to make some crap named CN Real? They might as well call it Live-Action Network becasue in twenty years I can see Live-action shows taking over Cartoon Network.

If you agree with me and think that Cartoon Network has some shi77y shows on and you would like to re-watch the classics rather then get totured watching Adventure Time and Regular Show, click on the link above all the way at the top^.

And remember, you don't have to donate any money where it says donate you can just skip that and submit your signature.

It will ask you to put your First and Last Name, E-mail adress and Zip-Code. All of this stuff is required but you don't have to put a real Zip-Code for it to work.

So please sign the petition. You spent all that time reading this topic. It will only take a minute.

EDIT: Yes I know some of Cartoon Networks Classics come on Boomerang at Night time. Notice how I said "some". Also Re-Animated ruined CN as well. They obviously tried to copy Disney with that show.

  • hey I like Adventure Time. also guys, it isn't a 'fact' that all those 'golden age' cartoons are the best. they were the best in our minds, but trust me, try showing any of that to kids right now, it

  • I'm sorry but you don't seem to know what you are talking about. Fosters was good but doesn't stand up to the others. The only thing notable about Fosters was that it was easily the most creative cart

Fixed. Also I wanna keep this topic clean. Hopefully you've submitted your signature.

Tower Prep was actually an alright show. Or at least it wasn't as bad as some of the other stuff on CN Real. .3.

But I agree about Adventure Time and Regular Show. (dear god, Regular Show.) and I thought I was the only one who remembered Time Squad. :D

tl;dr signed petition.

i signed the petition

Where's Justice League it when to 2001 to 2004 and was there best show.

And during there "there crappy era" they still had one of there best shows in Justice League Unlimited which when to 2004 to 2006 it was great but guess it's an expection there also Young Justice which is good.

Most of them suck except for the clone wars and kinda young justice

Uhm yeah no it wasn't. Most people don't even consider that a original CN cartoon. Anything from WB I did not include.

All the kids networks have been falling behind the times. All Nick does is play Spongebob reruns for most of the day. Disney's cartoons are pretty generic. I miss the old cartoons. Didn't see Teen Titans up there. I think that was the last cartoon I watched on CN before giving up on it.

I forgot about Sheep in the Big City!

But yeah, I've been saying this for years, so I naturally signed the petition. We need the good stuff back! And I miss Johnny Bravo...

while most of these i do agree with i feel that kids next door would be in the classics with those cuz i remember always watching knd with those other classics. I mean a show about kids fighting adults evil got me pump and the sheer thing they were able to do i.e. weapons ships power etc. made me laugh

The only show worth watching on CN these days is Young Justice...and even then I forget to watch it on CN and end up looking for it on YouTube. xD

yes knd was awesome and so was teentitans

The only thing I ever watched on CN was Pokemon.

It was supposed to be wb show but when cn took over wb aminated shows they got Justice league but justice league am pretty sure never aired on wb so i pretty sure it should count.on wiki for justice league it says it was on cartoon network.I liked wb aminated shows at it's prime better than cartoon network at it's.

Adventure time is awesome

  • Author

It ran on Cartoon network and wasn't from wb.Superman and Batman the aminated series but not justice league check wiki if you don't believe me.Also it's weird because on dvd Bruce timm says it's cartoon network but what does we know he's only producer right.I found WB aminated shows during there prime were better than cn at it's prime.

OK looks like it is. But people don't consider it a "CN Classic".

Honestly I miss all of the shows from the gold and silver ages(except star wars...it was boring for me) but what I really miss is toonami. Simply because I loved the anime stuff they had so if they find a way to bring that back then I'll be sold, because honestly they show the stuff from the golden age on boomerang. Granted they don't show it often but if I'm really in the mood to watch some of the good cartoons I used to I'll just wait for them to show it on boomerang. Anyway add toonami to this petition I'll sign it in a heart beat.

Uhm no it's not. Do you know how many people hate it? A lot. Adventure Time is a horrible show that mostly little kids watch. Most people that know nothing about the Golden Era of Cartoon Network would say this.

Really I am ashamed at you (lol joking).

Dude 2004 was a good year for Cartoon Network. It had its best look then, and it still had all of the classics. 2007 is when Cartoon Network truly started to turn to shit, and it hasn't recovered since.

Even though I agree with this, I could've sworn the golden age was before 1997, but that's just me. Good topic Cartoonnetwork has turned into ship and kids these days won't realize the greatness it was.

Cartoon Network started shwoing original CN Cartoons during 1997

We have Six people from this website that have signed the petition. Feel free to add more.

In my opinion, the dark age ended somewhere around 2009. True, alot of the shows have just been average such as Adventure Time and Regular Show. However, I actually like some of the new shows such as Generator Rex, Young Justice, the new Looney Tunes show, and by the look of the promos the new Thundercats show appears to be promising. Cartoon Network has been expirimenting and actually TRYING to get itself out of the gutter. Although they did sometimes try a little too hard to think outside of the box. (Problem Solvers? Really?) Anyway, I'm still comending them for what they've done recently. Out of the three prime childrens stations, Cartoon Network is the only one that doesn't have shows that feel rehashed. Showing too much of the older cartoons might just give Cartoon Network a crutch to work off of. Like Nickelodeon with Spongebob. The balance between the new and old shows is fine right now to me. I want Cartoon Network to move forward, not backwards.

Thoguh I respect your opinion, a lot of people can't get there heads out of the past. That's why this petition was made. Eventually it will reach 10,000.

That is also why Cartoon Network developed Boomerang and why it is releasing all of it's old shows on DVD boxsets. I wouldn't mind a better variety of old shows that show on the network, but I don't think the amount of time the old shows get on the channel needs to be expanded.
