The reason why KH3D is taking so long

Posted

What I'll say is part of a Brazilian game site, and here goes the link http://www.baixakijo.../noticias/17029

Translated to English by myself :

"If you are one of the fans that blame the creator, Tetsuya Nomura, for the delay of the release of the new game : Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance , know that it's not his fault, but Disney's. According to the creator of the series, the negotiations with the North American studio for the release of the new scenarios are being slowly made, because the executives of the company are considering the plot too complex and didn't understand what the creator wants to do.

However, the creator said that this is not going to cause troubles anymore. According to him, there are many people inside the Disney company that loves Kingdom Hearts and are willing to support them so that the series will continue to advance."

If there is already a thread like this, sorry :/

I think this was stated in an interview in this site... lol

I never thought of it as a "delay", not thought about how it was Disney's fault, though.

Oh thanks for this info , I was always blaming Nomura for that lol , but things now r clear

Does this make anyone else a bit nervous? I love the KH games and their complexity, but after hearing about this twice I'm worried about the story. I'm concerned that the plot may be strange and a bit convoluted >.<

Well, at points, the KH story can get a little confusing. Also, strange and a bit convoluted might be what Nomura is going for.

I don't ever recall the game being delayed, and in my opinion the game hasn't taken too long. It was announced at last years E3 and is almost ready to be released. I don't see any problems.

Um, Nomura already talked about this during the July 14th issue of Famitsu. You know, the interview where he talked about KH3D(which was not informative at all lol) and he talked about the fans votes of the KH games, etc.

I knew it wasn't his fault. But the creator of Kingodm Hearts is so invovled in so many other projects within Square. I just hope that he has some time for himself.

No one should expect a heap of information on a video game so soon. Why rush a good game? It's not going to take as long as Kingdom Hearts II and Birth by Sleep did. Or how long Kingdom Hearts III will.

tutti frutti. Though I admit, along with a number of others, that Kingdom Hearts has its own version of complexity, and other elements to keep us guessing, and that's some of the traits that I like about the series, so long as it makes sense by the end of the game. Nextly, I don't think that the game is taking too long for development and information, especially when compared to Final Fantasy versus XIII. I'm more or less expecting the game to be out, or at least have some more info on it, by next year at the latest. But if Disney is going to complain NOW about the complexity about a series that they have part in, why start now when there are already a number of games out and the series has already made success? But, nonetheless, looking forward to KH3D.

Isnt the remarkable complexity in what initially appears to be a cutesy Disney game one of the most alluring aspects of the Kingdom Hearts Franachise? I know I don't return to the series for Donald Duck, or goofily abridged versions of popular disney films. Its the deep, exciting, and surprisingly dark for a disney game, story that keeps me on the edge of my seat. That and watching the goofy little kid we met in KH1 Develop into a full fledged hero who somehow manages to become more of a badass with every title.
