TGS will probably leave us with questions, not answers

Posted

I've been seeing a lot of people around here thinking that after TGS rolls around, we'll know all there is to know about DDD. That we'll be able to debunk all the theories. That we'll know all the worlds and characters. That we'll know the plot, see Sora and Rikus new clothes, and basically, spoil the entire game.

When has this ever happened in KH?

This is the frist trailer to really show us the game, since the first one was basically reused footage with some gameplay. Nothing truly canon. If anything, what info they DO reveal is going to make us more confused than ever. That certainly happened with BBS.

Now, keep in mind this game supposedly has the most complex plot in KH to date.

How can we possibly hope for answers?

The trailer leaves us with questions, then shortly after, Nomura answers some questions in an interview, then we'll be asking more questions from his answers.

Yep, that's the pattern. But he never gives any big answers, he just makes his answers seem big.

The day a KH trailer doesn't leave me with questions is the day I finally believe in a Doomsday. >___>

Who wants answers? Questions are the fun part.

We never get concrete answers but it's always interesting (and scary) to see when people's early theories end up being spot on. We'll get a few small details that can leave us with facts. They may not be plot-relevant facts, but they're still important things... who is involved, even if not how, where things are taking place, even though we know not what's taking place there.

I have my hopes set to low for this trailer. All I'm hoping to see at the very least is the majority of the worlds in the game. My major hopes are for to show the "new characters", Master Xehanort and Sora, Riku and Kairi's (I hope she gets new clothes too) new clothes.

I predict that the trailer will show a hooded figure whose's about to reveal his/her face until it cuts off to another scene/ ends thus not showing who the person is...then we will speculate on who it was...Was it Xehanort? Mysterious figure ( whose name I think will be an anagram of no name with an X) or maybe it was Axel! No saix! ect.

Like most of the trailers, it'll answer some of our questions, but leave us asking more than we were...

I totally agree with yah,

This.

I do not hope on spoiling anything until I play the English version, anyway. So it's a good thing nothing'll be spoiled. I really hope to see MF in this game, though.

That's the way it works. :)

Who expects to get all the answers from the trailer? As far as I know, no one really thinks that.

All I want is footage, dang it. Sure, if they show us some new characters and an outfit or two, that'd be nice, but I mainly want to see the fine graphics and flashy combos. :3

I know, that's why I said it. lol

I've been seeing lots of posts, around here and on other places like Youtube. People don't see to realize just how well KH's secrets are kept.

We'll know what they want us to know, obviously. So unless they decide to show all the cutscenes in the game in one trailer, then it's without a doubt we will be left with questions xD

I doubt they would do the same thing again like what they did with BBS. One thing I like to tell people is that this is Kingdom Hearts, anything is possible.

when hasn't info on KH left us with more questions? i don't mind it so much, because i don't mind seeing people's theories, good or otherwise. it does get a little annoying from time to time, but i'm sure we're probably used to it by now.

To be honest, Dream Drop Distance seems like it can be simplified to "Sora & Riku VS Xehanort Heartless & Xemnas" but then you could simplify KH2 to " Sora vs Org13" so no doubt there will be tons of twists and stuff.

Course TGS will leave us with a lot of questions, I would be more weary if it did not. =D

thanks for totally bringing us down. also thank you for stating something that was fairly obvious anyway. the fact is the game looks like it could be really good when it comes out. and i wanna see more of what sora and riku can do. and who knows maybe they will get new clothes. my point is these conventions that happen allow us to put more of the pieces together. and i think since we're currently working with no pieces this trailer will help us.

No, the point of the conventions is to generate hype among fans of games in order to sell them better.

Now, why are you implying I at all think negatively about the game? I'm just as, if not more excited about the game, I can't wait to see more of Sora and Riku after their five year absence. And I'm not saying it's a BAD thing that we'll have questions, not answers, in fact, theb guessing and theories are almost as much fun as the actual game.

My intent when creating this topic was to reveal to the people who think TGS will be a clear cut map of DDD's plot that that simply isn't how things happen in KH.

Basically, this topic is the result of my frustration at the large number of people who seem to think that what's shown at TGS will reveal the plot of DDD, completely explain everything about Xehanort, reveal the Mysterious Figure's face, explain the origin of the keyblade and cure cancer.

wait a minute. they're not gonna teach as how to cure cancer at this year's T.G.S.?!?!?!??!?\

lol jk all I'm saying is we''re not treating it like it will give us all the answers but we have literally no answers so lately it has been almost impossible to judge a theory's likelihood. i think that that's why everyone is so enthusiastic about T.G.S. so that we can have something to talk about.

You keep saying we have no answers. We DO have info about this game, you know :P

yeah i know but not too much about the plot of this game.and that's what I'm waiting for. a sign, a useful quote, anything would be more useful than the vague stuff we have now.
