Is Sora 4 Ft. 9 Inches in Kingdom Hearts 1?

Posted
I realized how short he is in Kingdom Hearts 1. Compared to other objects and Disney characters, he looks like he's 3 Feet Tall. They probably had a lot of issues with the character models in the first Kingdom Hearts game. Well what does you think earthling?

He could be around 5'3, riku looks 5'5, 5'6. Kairi...Similar height as Sora.

Terra looks around mid 6', Aqua looks around high 5' and Ventus is around Sora's height.

If he was 5'3 he wouldn't be that short in comparison to other chracters and objects.

He was a mildly undersized 14 year-old. But hardly do you find a 14 year-old boy under five feet. I'm a girl, stopped growing much around 14, and was 5'2. So...yeah, 5'3 makes sense to me. xD

Well, does anyone have the model of him? In a 3D program you can set the unit of measurement to a real world metric system. It's usually used so that they can model one object at a time and, when they throw it all together in one scene, a street lamp isn't bigger than a skyscraper or something. That data may be preserved in the game.

I think Sora was a late bloomer. He hadn't gone through puberty yet either. He certainly shot up, though, during the year he was asleep :D

Even in KH II where he grew a bit he was still 2 heads smaller than Belle!

Is that counting the hair?

Yes he's still the same height as that thing he failed at pushing in Olympus Collisuem.

Yes, I think he's that height, because he's supposed to be 14 in KH1 but looks younger.

He's like up to Jane's hips.

That's interesting.

Due to my curiosity on the matter, I have spent a good few hours deducting this axiom.

I compared (kh2) Sora's height to Auron's (who is noted to be officially 6 feet tall by square enix), positioned right next to him, equal stance, none of them bending/hunching or anything; both game models in the underworld. I used a completely accurate measure (using digital measurement) to determine Sora's height in comparison to Auron's.

I then gathered all game models of Sora, Riku and Kairi from 'Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep', 'Kingdom Hearts' and 'Kingdom Hearts II' - then I compared using digital measurement.

I can now confidently deliver to you the correct and exact heights of the characters as they have been portrayed-

In 'Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep':

5 year old Riku is 3 ft 10

4 year old Kairi is 3 ft 4

4 year old Sora is 3 ft 6In 'Kingdom Hearts II':

16 year old Riku appears 5 ft 8 though his model is a little hunched so he's probably 5 ft 9

15 year old Kairi is 4 ft 7

15 year old Sora is 5 feet tall

In 'Kingdom Hearts':

15 year old Riku is 4 ft 10

14 year old Kairi is 4 feet tall

and finally...

14 Year old sora is 4 ft 5

So yes, Sora is indeed shorter than 4 ft 9 in Kingdom Hearts 1.

I guessed he was under 4",9, and you confirm my suspicion.

Must be a Tetsuya Nomura thing, as I best remember Cloud is meant to be either 5' 8 or 5' 10 in FF VII and at 21 he should be fully grown.

Although in AC he looks at least 5' 10, and that actually seems to be the case in KH I, he's a lot taller than Sora.

Why would they make him so inhumanly short? x.x

They didn't, I am nearly 18 and an Australian who is a male. I was told by a growth doctor (endocrinologist) that I am physically/pubescently a year older than my chronological age and am not deficient in any way. I shave every morning otherwise I have stubble, I have a goatee and a deep voice. I am 5 ft 4. I think when I was 14 I was probably around Sora's height as well.

The average height of a fully grown male is 5 ft 7.

Cloud Strife is 5 ft 7 (height details were released with the FFVII game in the manual), he is also 21 in FFVII and 23 in AC. There has not been any indication nor has he been noted to have grown between 21 and 23. If you go on 'finalfantasy.wikia' it intends that Cloud Strife is ultimately 5 ft 7, ever since revealed by the first FFVII game.

...They did. He's only 5ft. flat in KH2........

Probably 4 ft 9 brought up to 5 ft 2 with his hair...

I think he's just short so he doesn't need to be a giant freak as he ages.  Like in KH2 he looks average/normal height for a male.  The fact that his clothes and shoes are so baggy also make him look shorter (in the same way horizontal stripes make you look shorter because they make you look wider).

Japan.

Short is cute

Deal with it
