I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum section, I wasn't sure if I should put this in the General/Future Titles section or 3D section. This having relevance to 3D, I put it in the KH3D forum. Please feel free to change this, mods.

 

I know this is a long shot, but I figured this needs to be said. I think that Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance and Birth By Sleep Volume 2 are the same games. Here are some reasons why:

• Another Side, Another Story/Deep Dive led to KH II and Days, the next major installments in the story. Both were secret endings do KH I. (Both in the normal version and Final Mix. I'm not fully sure on that part though.)
• Birth By Sleep, KH II's Secret Ending (Part of it was in the normal version. Full secret ending was in Final Mix)
• Those being said, Zero Point, KH BBS Final Mix's Secret Ending should lead to the next major installment in the series by tradition, right? Assuming KH3D will be using the 4GB game card(if not larger. Size hasn't been confirmed yet.) to its full extent, KH3D is already larger than any other KH game before, if I recall correctly. It is also supposed to be as important as a "numbered title", like BBS was. It is obviously a major installment.
• Blank Points led to "Reconnect: Kingdom Hearts". Depending when Sora gets around to saving all those people and checking people out of his human hotel, that could mean KH III or KH 3D.
• was shown to have multiple scenes from the past in it. Zero Point also had scenes from the future(past, if you are going by where they are currently.) We know that the game will feature both scenes from the past and the present. All scenes from the past wouldn't be featured, so we also know there will be more.
• Zero Point has Aqua running into Cinderella's world in the Realm of Darkness. This is a stretch, but I theorize that Cinderella's world is part of the Dream Worlds too,(there are 2 more that need to be confirmed. I think it is one of them.) Once Sora and Riku clear these worlds, Aqua is free. Then she can go get Ven, as I will hopefully state later. After the Destati music starts (which was music used to represent KH 3D earlier. Still is.), it cuts to Mickey in familiar clothes, Star Seeker in hand. Mickey is shown with those clothes in the KH 3D trailer too. Then another fancy flash and Riku (KHI. I think it's the same hooded figure Riku from the KH 3D trailer) is holding a sleeping Kairi on the Neverland Clock Tower. Possibly the last world embodied in sleep. Goofy and Donald are then shown in Traverse Town. They are in KHI clothes. I don't know how they are relevant, Nomura knows though. Another flash. Oh look, it's Kairi in Twilight Town with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. I'm sure this took place during KHII's period of her being in Twilight Town. Another scene from the past that could be included in KH 3D/BBS V2. Flash! Sora sleeping and DiZ looking at him pressing some shizz. This is during the intermission between KH CoM and the beginning of Sora's Story in KH II. Another scene from the past. It has relevance, I'm sure of it. Now it flashes to Roxas and Xion walking in Twilight Town (Xion was shown in KH 3D's trailer/opening. She's coming back some way or another. Even if the part she was shown in was a recap. Xion is coming back.), long-haired Riku with the blindfold looking down at them. Now it shows a pair of legs. I think it's Aqua. The location is Destiny Islands. Here's the important part. YOUNG MASTER XEHANORT is shown(without the face being revealed. Probably different clothes, too.) turning around, Ansem SoD and Xemnas and Xehanort transitioning their way in. It's obvious this is the same person. Then a cut to Ven sleeping in Castle Oblivion (Which is technically something Sora and Riku have to do, if I am recalling correctly.), then another flash and he's gone. Then the logo: Birth By Sleep Volume Two. And when I say logo I mean text.
• I mentioned Young Master Xehanort, Ansem SoD, Xemnas, and Xehanort all being shown in that secret ending. Guess who show up in the KH 3D trailer? Them.

That's all I can come up with at the moment, but I hope this is evidence for some of you, if not most or all, to believe that these two games are the same game. If I can remember any details I forgot I will be sure to post them on this first post, so check back here often. I am not sure Nomura can pull out another KH game for 2013, unless he releases Versus XIII in 2012 (which I am very confident he will, mainly because I have faith in him. We have little information on it, but what right does that give us to say that it's nowhere near finished? I think he wants everything polished before releasing it. You have to remember, most of Mr. Nomura's time has gone into Versus XIII. Any game being worked on for that amount of time has to be somewhat done. Take a look at FF XIII and Skyward Sword. I think it's time for Versus XIII to make an appearance next year./shot Well, I hope you guys liked this theory/statement, so please enjoy and let me know what you think!

lol I must be blind. Mickey does not have on his COM clothes in the KH3D trailer. I'm sure someone would have to go to the realm of darkness to find Aqua and Ansem(Nomura has said he would like to expand on the realm of darkness and Dark Margin before KH3 or before the saga is over along with the Chamber of awakening and repose). Yes, we did see Ansem, Xemnas, and Xehanort at the end of the BBS FM secret ending, but just like Deep Dive/Another........it could be a meaning for another game. Besides, the Mark of Mastery is only one part of the game, so we don't know how much is going to happen with the data inside Sora. I still think that BBS FM secret ending is leading to another game.

I agree with the OP. Seriously, guys: Birth by Sleep Volume 2 isn't going to be a title for a game any more than Deep Dive, Another Side/Another Story or Sunset Horizons was. It's covered several things that are going to get covered in this game, and I think the appearance of young Xehanort proves that alone. Then again Deep Dive indeed brought us to KH2, but was better covered in the (much) later 358/2 Days. There are things in there that won't be covered until KH3, I'm sure.

 

(In the end, I'm just going to say I was upset by this secret ending on a whole... simply because it wasn't in their awesometastic amazing graphics. I'm equally disappointed we didn't get a full opening for Birth by Sleep, and they just reused footage from the last secret ending.) But I have always, always thought the idea we'd ever have a game called "Birth by Sleep Volume 2" stupid. I mean, that doesn't even sound original. I mean, why aren't we all going "OMG, the next game must be called Zero Point or Blank Point!" . . . no. Really. Why aren't we? It sounds far better.

I agree with this. When Noruma said the exam wasn't the whole part of the game Kinode. I think he was referring to Lea's parts in the game.

Anyways, It may not be kingdom hearts birth by sleep volume 2 because first of all it says Kingdom Hearts Reconnect, and all signs are pointing at Kingdom Hearts 3. Also there is no game in between KH 3D and KH 3 so there is no volume 2. Though all I can say is the KH 3D, like Nomura said, leads up to KH 3 so your right in someway! But I don't think Aqua and others are going to be shown in a way. And I'm mean in the main game. *chuckles* The very thought of BbS vol.2 and DDD possibly being the same game crossed my mind this morning.

.....and now you guys are acting like the two secret endings are for two separate games. The final mix version of the original's secret ending has never been meant for an entirely different game any of the other times this has happened before so that's quite an assumption you guys have there. If it had any validity, I say, yeah, okay, reConnect was reCoded, yay, lol, moving on.

 

Why can't both secret endings ALL revolve around this one game? You just think it's a filler game? re:Coded was the filler game, guys. =/ Nomura already explained it, comparing it to Chain of Memories, leading up to the next game. Dream Drop Distance IS that next game. It's bigger than you think, even if it isn't the end-all-be-all. Things might not be so simple. We have to resolve problems in this game we didn't even know existed until now (just like in KH2 with the Nobodies). In the next major installment it should be the same way. A problem we don't already know about. A problem we haven't been handed in the secret ending.

i have said for a good year now that bbsv2 will NEVER happen. now im not so sure to be honest. i have to play kh3d first. they have a lot of ground left possible to cover before their big battle with the xehanort clan. of they can wrap all that jazz up in 3d, then no bbsv2. what makes me say it will happen more than anything else is that i dont see kh3 coming out for a long time, and they need some of game to keep us nerds happy.

How much could they necessarily create, though? KH3D is the next big game, leading directly into Kingdom Hearts III. I don't think that what was teased about BBS V2 is not nearly enough to be fleshed out into a full game by itself. I think it would be combined with KH 3D to save money and time. And about the lack of CGI for Zero Point makes me believe even more that BBSV2 is really a bunch of cutscenes added in KH 3D. Maybe some playable characters added, like Kairi and Mickey (the last two slots on the website. I'm believing they are characters until it's officially stated, even though it's hard to believe. Or until the game comes out.).

Most secret endings have been CGI, right? Well 3D hadn't been announced at the time, and maybe the CGI wasn't finished. What I'm trying to say is maybe they didn't want to "tell" us BBSV2 was a completely new game that used CGI, like the other major titles. It's been confirmed that 3D is the next and final major title before III. If it did happen to be a separate game, BBSV2 would be a minor title, though the story may or may not be important.

And in all honesty, I can't say I would buy BBSV2 just because of the side stories it seems to contain. None of them seem directly relevant to the plot. I'm reminded of bonus features.

I was making an assumption from my thoughts of what Mickey wore. I still think that there can be a long range of time covered in 3D. We haven't seen anything with present Sora/Riku post MoM, and the MoM is only a small portion of the game. Maybe that's what the Distance part is. How much could they necessarily create, though? KH3D is the next big game, leading directly into Kingdom Hearts III. I don't think that what was teased about BBS V2 is not nearly enough to be fleshed out into a full game by itself. I think it would be combined with KH 3D to save money and time. And about the lack of CGI for Zero Point makes me believe even more that BBSV2 is really a bunch of cutscenes added in KH 3D. Maybe some playable characters added, like Kairi and Mickey (the last two slots on the website. I'm believing they are characters until it's officially stated, even though it's hard to believe. Or until the game comes out.).

Nomura : In that scene the ones who are calling for “Sora” are the ones who have already disappeared from the world. But in the world of KH there is no concept of death, that for example they are just sleeping within Sora’s heart. If you can just wake them up, they’ll be able to return to the world, they would be “born from sleep”. That there would be a possibility of this, is what Ansem the Wise is saying. Even Aqua, who isn’t in the realm of light, would be born from sleep.

 

-- In that case, do the characters we see in that scene have a chance of returning?

 

Nomura : Yes. The data that Ansem has hidden within Sora is the secret to that revival. When Ansem had become DiZ, and studied the heart and emotions, the results he found he hid within Sora. There are a lot of people who thought that Coded was about finding those results, but that’s not true. The ending of Coded was about finding out that DiZ had done something to Sora, as Namine said, finding out about the data that Ansem hid. What that data is will be revealed in the next game. Two more games aside from KHIII are in the works.

Now that Birth by Sleep is complete, we’re interested in the future titles to come in the Kingdom Hearts series…

Nomura: Kingdom Hearts III can’t be started if the goals for Final Fantasy Versus XIII are not concluded, however development of the next title(s) in the series has already begun. There’s one I plan to release within the year. After that, there’s another one I’m thinking I want to release from next year onwards, and I think there will be more than one main character again. By the way, the scene “Blank Points” in Birth by Sleep in which Sora ends up setting off on his journey is planned to connect to Kingdom Hearts III.

When we were discussing in the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Ultimania, you mentioned that there were 2 new Kingdom Hearts titles other than Kingdom Hearts III coming up. One coming out in 2010, and one more being announced in 2011. It seems the title releasing in 2010 was Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, but what about the other one? Were you referring to Kingdom Hearts 3D or Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix?

 

Nomura: No, at the time of that interview I intended to hint toward a different project. However, focusing my energy on Kingdom Hearts 3D and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix comes first. Since a new Secret Episode is revealed in the Birth By Sleep Final Mix, I definitely want it to be seen. I think when you see it you’ll be excited for future developments.

It doesn't look like it lacks anything, it has more than enough to be a full game. Mickey first meeting Ansem after BBS, the gummi block shower, the fall of Radiant Garden, the malificent invasion, Mickey in the RoD, Aqua exploring the dark worlds, why Xemnas wanted to find Ven so much, what exactly Riku was up to during days and KH2...... This is enough. When has the secret ending of a KH game ever ended up as 'a bunch of cutscenes? Never, they all became a title.

Well that's your opinion, I'm sure many hardcore fans would purchase it. Well Idk why they would need extra space. The only thing that you can argue that 3d contains things from BBSv2 is the scene with Xehanort and the apprentices in the TGS trailer.

We know the castle of dreams fell to darkness after BBS because we see the Castle of Dreams in the dark realm at the end of BBSFM. Also, the fairy godmother said her world was destroyed by darkness(she said this in KH1).

 

Well, 3D is already paving the path for KH3, put to include all the proposed scenes for BBSv2 aswell is a bit much to be included in one game. Newcomers to the series won't have a clue what the hell is happening.

I probably won't skip it though. And a lot of hardcore fans would buy it if it had any KH character in it. When I think of KH 3D leading straight into KH III, I think of all the grey area being patched up. Whatever is left is cleared in KH III. I don't mean to sound opposed to the idea of two separate games, though. You'd think I'd be happy that these two could be separate games.

coded yes, but days? i feel like days was quite useful actually. it might not have advanced the plot if thats what you mean, bit i thoroughly enjoyed it. it did a lot of explaining, and i had not problem with it. now coded was a complete joke lol.

Why BBSV2's name can't be BBSV2?

It doesn't matter that other games didn't have names that we've seen in Secret Endings. BBSV2 may be different. Who said that every KH game are same? BBSV2 can be named BBSV2.

 

And I think it'll be cool if BBSV2 and DDD are in same game card.

Other cards or discs and other things costs. So how much money will Nomura get by making these games seperated?

 

DDD's game card is size 4GB, right? If that game really have only 2,3 GB, why they don't put more to it so it fit 4GB?

 

We don't know what's on Nomura's head. And we can't presume that they're like earlier games.

That extra space can be used to spruce up the cinematics, of course. Those CGI scenes can take up quite a bit of space themselves, which is often why they are reserved for the opening, closing, and (sometimes) secret ending. Even a slight bump in quality could occupy some of that extra space and distance ourselves from the dreaded fish-mouth we've gotten occasionally.

 

Which isn't to say they WON'T include both on one;but in reality, it comes back to money. Face it, Square is greedy. They're not going to go all Orange Box on us (though that would be nice for my wallet...). Nomura's "baby" is making him rich.

 

And if they were dead-set on putting both on one? We'd have two games designed for a system half as powerful as the 3DS (with a limit at 2GB instead of 4).

 

TL;DR version: Nomura's a greedy b****, there will be 2 separate games.
