So this dude who was very popular at school died this weekend, and everyone has been worried about it. The problem I am having here is what just happened. My mom told me to my face that this dude's death is more important than my birthday. I now feel like a poor loser who isn't even real. Do you think my mom is right or wrong here?

She wrong if you was not friends with him nor did you know him she has no right to say he was more important.

Both could be important and you're not a loser

No offense but ur mom is just rude

Depends. If I actually knew the guy personally, then my birthday would be the last thing I think about. But if I barely knew the guy and never talked to him, I'll still celebrate my birthday, but not invite anyone who knew the guy personally.

Popular guys.

Making unpopular people look unreal even after their death.

Do the party anyways.

Just make sure that the people who knew him stays away from that party.

If you and your mother had no contact to him why the hell should his death be more important?

If that's the case we should mourn about every single death each day and shouldn't even live our normal life anymore since these deaths are waaay more important.....

Just do your party.... if you invite people who were close to him and they don't feel like partying it is fine and understandable but I guess enough people will still show up.

I dont understand things like that either. Somehow evryone is so sad about someones death although they didn't even know guy, so why they aren't sad about evry single death if it's so. I kinda agree with Axel 91.

Well I didn't know the guy, but some relatives knew my family. But I wasn't even going to have a party anyway, I am not the partying type.
