How much time do you spend reading news, previews, and reviews about a game before buying it?

Well, if it's a series that I really enjoy like KH, I will buy it without seeing anything. [used KH because like, it's Kingdom Hearts :)]

But mostly the games I buy are the ones I know, so I don't actually pay that much attention to reviews and stuff. Only in rare situations xD

    • Less than a minute, just review scores or a short video.

    • None at all, I'll buy a game if the box looks interesting.

    • Depends. If I'm familiar with the game, then I won't think twice!

I actually do a lot of research on a game if I'm really interested in it. I would spend hours looking up any news on it months before the release and if i have yet to buy it once its out, look at reviews and some vids to determine if i still want it or not. Even with the Kingdom Hearts series (which i LOVE), i look forward to any news of future releases (even though i dont look at vids of it to not spoil myself). As soon as KH3 is officially announced and FFv13 comes out, I'll probably have a very spazztastic day =D

I don't get money so easily so I need to think really hard which game I should buy, I don't wanna buy games I don't like because I really can't waste money on things I don't like. (Always think long time before buying anything)

I even write alot of them before it comes out for my work xD.

Most of the time I am one of the first people who sees the game so don't have much information at that point.

But with the writing I search for many news blogs and read alot it most of time is more then a couple of hours.

Well when we here on the site get the news served on a silver plate, we might as well read em :D

Gamestop, Gamespot, Amazon reviews, some Youtube videos, and the game's official website is what I look over when I am first considering buying a game. (even Wikipedia, if it has one.)

I look up reviews and videos to see if the game is good and if I think I'll like it.

Depends. Of course, with any Kingdom Hearts game, I'll buy it without researching it at all. I did the same with FFXIII-2. But if it's something I'm not familiar with, I have to play some of it first or at least watch someone else play it before I'll buy it. Reviews are so subjective (e.g. lots of people say Kingdom Hearts is stupid and has a childish storyline), so I usually don't trust those.

Depand on which game it is, if it is that looks fun a do alot of research and if it is a game that look a litlle fun and little research and if opinion changes then i do alot of reshearch

Depends. When it comes to kh I wouldn't have a 2nd thought abt it but for some other game I'd check arnd for half an hour to be sure to not waste my money :3

I wait for IGN or Gamespot's rating on the game unless its sequels to games.

If it's a KH game, I get it on day one. But if it's another series, I do some research just to be safe.

If I'm familiar with the series, then I'll usually just go with my gut. But if it's something new to me, or I'm looking for a specific type of game, then I'll read a few short reviews to see if I'd be interested.

I don't care about previews or reviews. I buy the game because I want to play it.

Meh, it depends.

If it's something I'm familiar with already (Kingdom Hearts, Mario, LoZ, etc) I'll buy it without a second thought. Unless I'm slight familiar with it. Then I'll buy it being like "Ehhhhh, why not?" (And that how I got TWEWY)

Something I'm not familiar with I'll do my research so I know I'll enjoy it and then buy it.

I'm trying to start watching trailers, reading content, viewing content etc before buying a game. Because if I don't a lot of the time it turns out to be a shit game.

I usually research a lot (hence the finding of KH13).

I usually do some research on games, mainly to hype me up for them.

I make sure it's half way decent before buying.

Same here. If it's KH I'll buy instantly, but even franchises that I absolutely love (LoZ, Mario, Metroid) ill do some research so I don't "waste" money. Bought Re:Coded and Days the day they came out. Definitely not a waste :P

When I know the serie I'll usually watch some trailers and read some news on the Internet before its release, but I'll buy the game at the release date(If the game looks good of course),but when its a new serie I'll watch all the trailers,I'll check on forums what people think about that serie,I watch all the reviews I can found on youtube and I'll think a lot.It tooks me MONTHS to buy my first Final Fantasy(Dissidia) game 2 years ago, same thing happened with Metroid last year(With other M).

I dunno I don't do much gaming EXCEPT for Kingdom Hearts! All I really do is watch Minecraft and other videos from a group called,"The Outsiders" lol.

5 minutes, if there is nothing interesting...

oh y meant games? then 4 minutes xD
