Ursula may not mean a Little Mermaid world

Posted

You see in the trailer Sora fighting Ursula with KH1 Riku, I think its part of the Monstro dream. Sora escapes with KH1 Riku from Monstro only to be attacked by Ursula, seeing as it is a dream and dreams can be based of memoires it is not uncommon for them to overlap. We may even see other worlds crossing over.

ursula might also appear as tournamenting boss in new tournamenting world.

You right, dreams overlap all the time, but still i think Sora would remember where he fought his foes that werent heartless or nobody pawns.

His memory could be tricked, he links Ursula with water, his mind could think he is in Atlantica when he escapes Monstro because of the water.

Looking at the fact Sora doesn't have a drop guage, and his HP meter, along with Usulas having only a bar I was thinking that perhaps it would make sense if she's the first boss from Destiny Islands, right before Sora and Riku end up in Traverse Town. If you recall, they were talking about a raft in the earlier trailer "who knows, if we have to we'll build a raft", and Sora and Riku looked like they were on some sort of raft (like a giant version of the one in KH1, minus not having a sail, perhaps it got damaged in the sea) while battling her. Just would fit in really well for me. (also one other thing I noticed is Sora drops from the sky in his KH1 clothes at one point in another trailer, which again would fit in well with after/before this boss battle if it's before traverse towns first visit)

Plus it would be something a bit more refreshing than fighting Darkside right before you arrive in traverse town for the 4th time.

I think it'll be a Mirage Arena-esque boss for the usual KH coliseum. I hope we'll be able to fight more classic KH bosses. Too bad Clayton can't be one of them due to damn copyright issues...

Except that the trailer you're talking about was confirmed to be "non-cannon"

Nomura said in the famistu interview that sora is im prankster's paridise before monstro and riku is during so kinda shot down buddy....srry :(

I think it's some sort of boss fight mode.

Who knows, we might as well wait for the game itself to show us rather than trying to figue it out.

Or maybe ursula appears as a tutorial boss xD

just kidding we just have to wait and see

Well weren't we told that one of the new characters uses time travel? Maybe he uses that and you have to fight a ton of classic bosses but who knows ^^

Well, since Ursula's "dead," does it mean they're in the RoD?

Tsunado has a point. Ignoring its point in the story, there is no Drop Guage, Ursula only has one bar of life (and no crown on her head), and Sora and Riku are in their KH1 outfits. It's gotta be pretty early in the game.

The lack of a Drop Guage makes me believe that it's even before the game properly starts, before the Dream... Dropping... Distancing?

In my opinion, this fight is surely in an arena mode. It cannot be the little mermaid world 'cause, if I remember well, Nomura said all Disney worlds will be new.

Oh yeah, I forgot that. xD

I still wouldn't rule out Destiny Islands appearing in the game though, even if it hasn't been confirmed.

One could argue that there are exceptions to what Nomura said though. I mean Pranksters Paradise contains a bit for Riku where he goes inside Monstro, which we did with Sora in the original Kingdom Hearts, but everything else is new in the world.

I noticed something. Sora and Riku are in their old clothes when they fight Ursula. There is no Drop Gauge, their abilites are different. The HP bar has changed. It looks similar to KH1 when they fight her. Even the Dream Eaters are gone. I think it has something to do with time travel or memories, which let them fight older enemies, not a new world, since The Little Mermaid has appeared in three KH games already. What do you think? Also, Riku is a partner.

Uhm, that's a possibility. It wouldn't be bad to fight bosses from past games.

I'm thinking you fight her on the way to the Realm of Sleep. That or it's in the colosseum.

OMG! I just figured it out. It's the Mirage Arena, but in the realm of sleep. I noticed that the background in the battle seemed like it took a part of the said world and where the battle would take place, similar to Monstro in BBS FM. I think I'm on to something!

I was just about to say something about a Boss Rush Mode like on Ocarina of Time or XIII-2's Collesium.

Well in the first trailer for the game and maybe the second one, Sora and Riku were in their KH1 Attire on Destiny Islands with Sora asking Riku how far a raft would take them. Maybe Ursula survived in KH2 and now she is attacking them for revenge? So it sounds like this is a tutorial fight at the very beginning of the game.

Seeing as the game is supposed to celebrate KH's 10th Anniversary, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mode where you could fight famous bosses from past titles, hence this.

I would like a coliseum mode where you got to face off previous bosses. Especially since you'd be able to play it again.

There isn't just 1 bar of health......theres TWO

If You look carefully during fullscreen you'll see that she's missing a bar of health(a blank square in the health gauge)

Also rather than a tournament mode, I thinks it'll be more of a world where you'll face past enemies(taken form from both your memories and elements from RoD) in order to get stronger or something(just guessin) Kind of like Chain of Memories!

Um Yeah........

Well judging by lack of health, Drop Gauge, Sora's new attire, and the Riku helping you in the battle...it's kinda obvious it's a strange tutorial or a random battle Nomura placed in before you actually do anything.

And in all honesty, I'm pretty sure Nomura is trolling this time. Here, I'll give you a tutorial...BUT I'LL BE BRINGING BACK BAD MEMORIES MUHAHAHAHAHA.

Yep. Good ol' Nomura.
