After the Mark of Mastery Test?

Posted

So we know that the Mark of Mastery test won't span the entire game. However, we haven't seen any gameplay from outside the realm of dreams, and I'm getting worried. What if Sora and Riku complete their tests and return to the real world, but them have to go back to the dream world and do something there? I hope this is not the case.

They'll probably show off little bits of after the MoM in any trailers they may release next month....ya never know. owo

Sure, the MoM ends and they still continue to travel in the realm of sleep. If there's any type of gameplay outside then there won't be Dream Eaters and half the gameplay is taken out(assumption).

Ya know that is VERY true! I do indeed think that they will just continue in the world of sleep AFTER the MoM.Or else like YMX (hinted to me the MAIN antagonist) somehow gets the dream eaters OUT of the realm of sleep! UNLESS,they just mean in terms of cutscenes, not gameplay lol

You said what I was thinking, I just decided not to say it.

My guess is that what starts as a relatively simple MoM test turns south with the different forms of Xehanort butting in, making up the other half of the game.

I figured the Exam would span the whole game, with the Dream Eaters being there the whole time and all. Half of the games functions would just stop if he exam ended and they returned to reality.

That's what I was thinking you know. But still the game somehow seems to be... how can I say it... SHORTER than previous games. I was kinda thinking that they might finish the MoM exam and when they restore the worlds, they have to go again in the real life to do something... IT'S GETTING REALLY STRANGE! And for some special reason Nomura wants to keep many secrets, even more than before. He's hiding something...

DC hasn't been on to upload my scans of the recent article, so I'll just type this up real quick

In a previous interview, you mentioned that the Mark of Mastery exam won't span the entirety of the game. Could you elaborate on that a little bit?

As I just mentioned, the mysterious boy in the black cloak causes the story to take an unexpected turn. Whenever he appears, Xehanort and other characters that have been linked to him, like Ansem, seem to follow, even though they've already been defeated in the past. Their story isn't about the Mark of Mastery exam, so that plotline proceeds in a different direction.

I think what he means is that the entire story isn't about the MoM so there will be other things going on in the story. So the MoM may span most of the game but it's not the primary plot.

Yeah you're right. We'll just have to wait to be sure...

Well, the can drag the MoM test and the Xehanort problem out for a bit, they've done it before. As for the hiding, Nomura had been doing that to use since KH1. I think the man just likes messing with our heads.

tutti frutti. I have that feeling that the events of KH3D with Sora and Riku would be similar to that of BBS with Mickey. In BBS, Mickey was taking his MoM while events took place and in turn did his part to help others. In KH3D, Sora and Riku do their MoM, and also do what needs to be done during the events of this game. I think that Nomura is doing that on purpose for a paticular reason. My guess is that while both Sora and Riku are taking their exam, something would force them to come to the real world so that they deal with the Xehanorts, or at the very least travel back and forth between the real world and the dream world. Other than messing with the minds of Sora and co., and possible Sora and Riku's MoM, I'm guessing that there is a bigger picture on what YX is after, along with those that he has helping him in any particular way.

HAHA wow! What a coincidence!

The MoM won't take part for HALF of the game,it will take up MOST of the game! Where did you hear the MoM is only half of the game?!

Nomura stated it in an early interview. Although, I do agree with Oishi, now that I think about it. Nomura could be talking about Plot, and not actual Gameplay. So the entire game they're in the RoS doing the MoM exam, but then with the Xehanort's popping in disrupting the exam, as well as the cutscenes that take place outside of the RoS with Mickey, Lea, Maleficent, and the others.

Exactly my thinking. But that is weird I could have sworn that I heard from numerous sources E.I wikipedia AND KH13 that the MoM takes place for MOST of the game! If Nomura means THAT,there will be a POOP ton of cutscenes! Think about a normal ratio of gameplay to cutscenes! Also I heard... oh dear maybe it was... oh this is funny just now I thought I remembered hearing that the ratio of in-game engine cutscenes to CGI-cutscenes for KH:DDD was going to be 7/3,but I then just realized that was for Final Fantasy Versus XIII lol,I read about the game on wikipidia and saw that ratio at some point! But that was STILL cutscenes in general, weird how I thought of that xD

Sora and Riku finish the exam and becomes Masters. Xehanorth mess something up in RoL and duo will go back there.

I'm disappointed about this. I really wanted to go back to the real world and play as older Sora and Riku after they became masters.

Half doesn't always mean halves have be equal. Like Azure Flame and Oishii said, it's plot we are talking about.

Looks like we'll have to wait on that till KH3. Another thing to add to the list.

Maybe a reverse /rebirth?

... half is 1/2,which means being equal. I just mean in terms of plain TIME! If Nomura means in just plot for outside the RoS,it would take a lot of cutscenes to make it equal with the amount of time spent in the RoS doing the MoM.BUT,Nomura I just realized probably means JUST in terms of cutscenes, not time, then, well actually it would still take a LOT of cutscenes to make it equal or close to being equal with as many cutscenes there are in the RoS.

Just because things happen in the RoS doesn't mean they have to do with the MoM exam. All the stuff with Young Xehanort could be considered plot outside of the MoM plot, because he has nothing to do with their MoM exam. RoS=/=MoM

I was thinking just that xD!

That would be cool!
