Obviously, most people on this site want to see Final Mixes make their way overseas. But even if that does happen, it will only happen once, here's why:

Square Enix doesn't announce their games will have Final Mixes, or Compilations, or what have you. As such, nobody would know if and English Final Mix were to appear, until it became available, about a year after the game was originally released. Because of this, people will do what they always do when a KH game is relased; get their fill. They'll probably buy the game, if not, probably watch it online, or at least get a synopsis. Odds are they'd spoil Final Mix as well.

Basically what I'm saying is that, because we won't be warned in advance, the Final Mix won't sell well.

Square Enix will see that, assume we don't want it, and never do it again.

It's a very common problem with new ideas, people assume that people should adapt to a new situation immediately, but that's not the case. I'm willing to bet that the second Final Mix released, it would sell a lot better, because people would expect it.

Of course, Square could just wait until they can give everybody ALL of the content, but...

Or announce it for English audiences. Wut? Am I stupid?

Square would get so much shit from gaming journalists if they released a Final Mix overseas, simply because everyone would be like "why charge us for the game again, why not just make it DLC, this is unfair blah blah".

On that note, couldn't 3D Final Mix be a patch?

Also, best bet for any Final Mix release is an HD collection of past games. They'd never do KH3 Final Mix in the west without it being a DLC add-on for 10 bucks.

Well, they *could* but it wouldn't be very profitable for them. I'd sure they'd rather re-sell the game as a Final Mix and keep it Japan-exclusive to stop most of the complaining.

KH2FM was epic though, and japan should stop complaining they have sooooooooooooo much more kh stuff than everywhere else in the world.

Why wouldn't they sell one multilingual international version and the rest as DLC after a period of time?
