Why did they take Ansem's Castle out of the game?

Posted

Why did they do this shit? They had it in the trailer. If they left it in the game it would have REALLY made hollow bostion better.

Any why isn't it accesible through the games database? They left Jungle Book on BBS but didn't leave this? If you're gonna answer this question I'm hoping you have at least a bit of knowledge about coding and removed content.

So then why isn't it accesible through the game's database?

I might just hack my PS2 and look into the game's database for Ansem's Castle. I hope the game code for KH2 isn't too long.

I honestly liked Ansem's castle better than other parts of Hollow Bastion.

It is very shame that they left it out from KH2. Dunno why

ansems castle in ansem the wise his? in some way you could say it was there.. not as big as it could have been though

No one knows. The end.

Although I agree it would have been better if it were left in, we just don't know why.

does he mean the castle malefecent modeled for ansem sod when they put the princesses of heart in there for the keyhole?

Why are you asking him? And obviously I do. There's no other Ansem's Castle in Kingdom Hearts, is there?

I guess that since it was a considerably large world it did take a lot of data(space) so they had to remove it.

However, since Jungle Book per example, was incomplete, they weren't really bothered with removing it.

Okay. That makes sense now. Ansem's Castle must've took up a lot of space.

My exact toughts.

Perhaps they took the files of the castle out, instead of leaving them there like Jungle Book in BBS because it would take some more space, or would be a pain? I don't know the byte-size of the game, and i also don't know if too much space occupied on the disc would actually be a problem to load the game, but... who knows.

As in Ansem the Wise's castle, which was in KH2, actually, I'm not sure on this so don't take it for fact. But didn't Leon/Squall and the other FF characters say Ansem The Wise's castle from KH1 was the one Maleficent was using, cause if so, then it was left in, just a different part of it. The only reason I am hesitant to say it's fact, is that the two castles are on opposite sides of the map...but yes, there is another "Ansem's castle" in Hallow Bastion...it's the same one from BBS except you get to explore it in KH2...

There are many videos on Youtube of people using codes to access certain areas in the game. If the castle was left in there someone probably would have found it and showed it in a video by now. So don't waste your time looking for it... unless you really want just for the heck off it.

In response to the confusion I see above, the term "Ansem's Castle" refers to the castle that was the entire world of Hollow Bastion in KH1.

As for why they removed it, they probably just changed their minds. They wanted to show a whole new part of Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden; show that not only it was more than just a castle, but that it was an entire world once. Yeah, it would've totally been BA to go back, but that's a ton of memory space In KH1, there were 22 maps in Hollow Bastion, and they were enormous. Combine those with the town, Great Maw, and the underground to Ansem's lab (not to mention the Cavern of Remeberance in the FM) and your one world is taking up data space for two.

As for the Jungle Book, the maps were barely rendered, so they didn't take up much space at all. Perosnally, I think they couldn't have deleted it for some reason, like it was tied up in the rest of the game somehow. Or maybe someone forgot. I'd totally forget to delete it...

I figured as much but just thought it HAD to be in there somewhere. If they removed it that must mean they pretty much finished the whole entire castle and it had a lot of rooms/maps in it along with the castle's surrondings (the underground and the sewers). Otherwise they wouldn't have deleted it. Must of took up a few more KB's of space I guess. If it was any less then a KB of space it couldn't be that much of a problem that they'd have to remove it.

It could have also been for plot related reasons. They may have just wanted to put a completley new part of the town in the game. Hopefuly they will put the castle in Kingdom Hearts 3. I don't think the same rules of loading and space apply on PS3 like they do on PS2.

Feel happy to correct me, anyone.

Kingdom Hearts II takes up 90 kigabytes of memory. I don't think that's a lot or any where close to having loading difficulties. There are games on PS2 like Jak 3 that take up far over 1000 kigabytes of space. The "action" genre is part of Jak 3's genre just like KH2 is an Action RPG. There aren't individual rooms in Jak 3 like there are in Kingdom Hearts but I'd say one map like Haven City for example doesn't take up much more then 3 average sized worlds in Kingdom Hearts.

Sinc you probably don't play the game, what I'm trying to say is loading can't possibly be a problem as Jak 3 which takes up more space then Kingdom Hearts loads perfectly. You can travel to different parts of the world in Jak 3. Each map takes up a lot of space and loading up a map only takes up a few seconds.

I think they took Ansem's Castle out of the game's database because it was basicly dead weight or quite a waste of memory.

If I'm wrong at any point here, please correct me.

About jungle book, never used hack in games '-'

I think Disney not allowed to use Jungle Books as a world, and they stopped working on it

I love correcting corrections...

It is indeed Ansem's castle. True, Maleficent had taken it as her own, but that doesn't make it an entirely new strucure.

In fact, Maleficent did have her own castle on KH2, visible from the Dark Depths past the Great Maw. While only visible in cutscenes, if you use a room modifier to enter the castle, I believe it actually labels the region as "Maleficent's Castle" (it's been forever since I did it).

EDIT: my computers being stupid so copy and paste the link above in a new tab, and you will see, ansem castle is above and malefecents ghetto castle is below it.

Actually, it's called Villain's Vale. And that ungerground lab ain't Ansem's Castle. The entrance to the castle ain't his castle either.

Marificent and her schemes...

Damn... I need to get my Codebreaker working again...

I'm man enough to admit my mistakes. Now that you say it, it's all coming back.
