  • And meanwhile, the Xbox 360 is the top selling console in North America. Let's look at the past week:   360 - 48,498 3DS - 41,408 PS3 - 37,224 NDS - 19,524 Vita - 17,152 Wii - 13,604

I'm really starting to get annoyed of your hate for the 360. If you don't like it, don't make 3 or so threads about it. I might not like the PS3 as much as the 360, but I don't make threads about how

  • -Sigh- Really? C'Mon dude, EVERYONE knows the 360 or the ORIGINAL Xbox never sold well overseas. With the exclusion of Europe and Australia, Microsoft doesn't have a big market out there. That doesn't

... Why would that matter?

HD DVD lost the format war to Blu-ray. It never survived. Why use a dead disc format for your games? And I should think it's obvious why it lost. Blu-rays are more durable and can fit so much more content. I remember that they had to compress FF XIII for the 360 just so it could fit on the crappy disc.

HD DVD's capacity is like 30 GB. While Blu-ray Discs can easily have over 100 GB. Their already planning 1 TB Blu-ray discs.

"Including the PS2" He says.

Because the PS2 TOTALLY doesn't have the best library of games or anything (Especially tonnes of games made in Japan for Japan)

The PlayStation 2 is so old, why buy one now? They've been very cheap for over six years.

Plenty of people already want the PS4, why buy a console that only got a few new games in 2012. And they are all like Madden, Fifa etc.

So...? It's not like the developers need to hunt down disks. And I don't see why Microsoft should support a rival format, especially considering when the 360 first came out there was still a chance at its success.

That is by no means the most major flaw of the 360. High numbers for the sake of high numbers is pretty pointless (Most PS3 games weigh in at around 10 GB)

The key word here is 'a few'

The console is still supported, and has TONNES of great games. The PS3 can't play PS2 games, unless you have an old model.

Just because something is old doesn't immediately mean it's not worth getting :/

You didn't get my point. My point was it's been very cheap for over six years, meaning if you wanted one you should have purchased it years ago. The console has limited support. Barely any games were released in 2012 for it and they were only games like Madden and Fifa.

That's a lot more than the Gamecube or Xbox can say.

And that's silly, just because something is cheap doesn't mean you automatically own it. Plenty of people don't know about things the moment they happen. A person could easily decide on a whim to get a PS2 now, for whatever reason, say, for example, playing the original KH games.

That's a ridiculously flimsy argument.

There is no point buying a video game console if you're only getting one or two games.

It's the exact reason why I never wasted my money on a silly PSP. There's no point buying one just to play BBS and FF.

Unless the console id dirt cheap.

And I'm pretty sure FF alone is enough to support a PSP, you can play I, II, IV Complete, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, Tactics, Crisis Core, both Dissidias. Type-0 in theory. And I think there are one or two I'm missing.

And seriously, not everyone is you. Many people on this site bought a 3DS just for DDD, and a PSP for BBS. The PS2 has a great library of games, and they're all cheap now, because the console is old, yet is still supported.

Nearly every PS2 game is discontinued, so you would have to buy them pre-owned.

So...?

i got a ps3 and xbox 360, ds. I use Xbox more cuz i'm used to it. My bro plays the ps3 while i play xbox.

So...?

Why would you want to purchase a game if it's pre-owned? You're risking it not working. Plus your disc drive doesn't want to run discs that are covered in marks.

Gamestop/EB Games has a guarantee if it doesn't work. But used games tend to work. I've bought tonnes, and never had any problems with any game. sounds more like you are either making assumptions, or have had bad luck.

Seriously, used games are a great way to get some old games for a low price.

Who wants to go through all that hassle? Most of the time if you order online you can't return them either. It just depends on the condition of the disc.

What's wrong with $20 for a brand new copy of FF X-2, FF XII, KH (Square Enix edition) or KH2. Lol.

I got X-2 for five bucks. Works fine. I got both KH1 and 2 for 25 bucks each used, back when I first got my used PS2. In all cases, buying new wasn't an option.

There's no problem with buying new. In fact, morally, it's wrong to buy a new game used, because it cuts all profits to the maker, but it's impractical to find all old games new. And used games are sold in stores.

And all you need to do to ensure a used game you get online will work in ensure that the person you're buying from has a good reputation.

This isn't some major inconvenience, it's the opposite.

Seriously, what do you have against things that aren't brand new? Not everything needs ten cores and 300 TB of memory, or 9,000,000p resolution.

The bigger your TV the more you'll notice low quality stuff. It's why their releasing 4K.

Your retail stores must suck for FF and KH then. Here you can still easily purchase the FF and KH PS2 games brand new.

Yes, they do. It's a Canadian thing. Doesn't change the fact that the games I get are cheaper and work just as well so...

I have a big TV and have no problem playing stretched N64 games on it. My friend has a gigantic TV and enjoys the Wii perfectly well.

Resolution is not important, something can look terrible in 1080p just as easily as something can look great at 240p. It's nice to have a higher resolution, but that's it. Nice. You act like it's mandatory.

I mean yeesh, what would you do if you saw had to play an Atari game?

How big is your "gigantic"?

So I guess it's impossible to like all of the major consoles then, huh?

Don't know the exact measurements, but I remember it being well over 100"

His parents dipped a tonne of money into a ridiculously awesome entertainment suite.

And they don't even get HD TV. And they watch movies on VHS.

It would have to be a projector then. There aren't any TVs over 100 inches. The first TVs released to the public that are 100 inch wont be until 2013.

Bleh, I checked with him, it's 92"

I was close enough

X-box is only more popular because it appeals more to casual gamers. However not nearly as casual as say, the Wii. And it's more well known among relatively ignorant American gamers.

Unless you have access to online shops, then that is impossible. Most people here seem to be under the age of 16, so it's unlikely that they would have access to that.

More PS3 games appeal to me then 360 games.

Therefore the 360 is shit ;).

And Sony should bring at least try to bring the PSP back to life. It has a strong amount of players online weekly that would prove a lot of people still play it.

Pretty sure Sony aren't Necromancers.

I like my X-box.

It's breaks alot but still I like it,.
