Sadly, it's plausible. Almost a decade of development, and so many absences from TGS and E3, it all kinda pieces together like a puzzle. I'm going to take this with a 50/50 chance rate of it being true. Discuss.

i really hope not, i was actually looking forward to it, I even bought a PS3, lol, just so I could play that game and maybe even some other games.... :unsure:

Well at lest yuriofwind will have a new video idea.of why square enix doesnt love him.

I'm going with that its just a rumor for now.

SE would be making a big mistake if canceled it because: 1. some eager SE fans will be ticked and 2. they could make a lot of money off of it. The only reason I can see them canceling it is if they spent so much money on the project in the past 6 years that they predict that they would be selling it at a loss, which is a hole a large, experienced company like SE wouldn't dig themselves into. As far as they are in the production it wouldn't make sense to drop it all now, its a lot of wasted time and money to just throw away. I was a little interested in the game because of the more KH style of gameplay it was supposed to have and the story looked pretty interesting. I'll be disappointed if it really is canceled.

If you actually stop and read this thread, you'd know this is FAR from confirmed, and in fact very unlikely.

I really hope its not actually cancelled. I was looking forward to it. If it's not cancelled, I hope they'll show us something of it and give out a release date! We don't want it to be like Duke Nukem Forever, taking 15 years to be developed and then having it be disappointing. Yes, I know it was announced in 2006, but it feels like its just gonna take forever for this game to come out. I hope it doesn't become vaporware...

I really hope its not actually cancelled. I was looking forward to it. If it's not cancelled, I hope they'll show us something of it and give out a release date! If this actually happened, Square would pretty much be stabbing themselves in the foot by making us wait over half a decade for this game, and then turn around and drop the project in thin air. But for me, I'm making this years TGS being the final chance of hearing anything in general about the game. With 6 years, and little to no info on this game is crazy in general to keep the audience waiting. I'm all for new games, but this is ridiculous. We can only wait but so long for a game to be released, let alone any info in general.

As much as I REALLY want this game to come out, if they did cancel it, I wouldn't really mind. I mean, with the amount of time it's taking to develop, it would be stupid, but no surprise if they canceled it and just used what they have for FFXV.

More so if by some chance that this is actually true, then I find that it would be better for Square to come forward with this instead of making us wait and continue questioning the production of this game. But to wait this long for Versus, only for it to get cancelled, is pretty crazy, espcially for the large number of fans waiting for the game. I'm pretty much treating this years TGS as the last point of hearing anything about Versus.

 

I'm hoping that this year's TGS has something about Versus, too. If it doesn't, then, we're in it for the long haul.

 

I can only imagine on how of an impact that would be on Square. Six plus years is a crazy amount of time to be forced to wait for a game to come out. After I see a trailer, I would think that the max amount of time to wait for a game would be 2 - 3 years max for the game to be released. I can understand a company needing years, let alone time in general to make a game, but they shouldn't announce a game until it's about ready to be put onto shelves.

I would rather have Versus XIII than XIII-3 i mean are you kidding me i was probably the most hyped person for FFXIII and i got it first day and by the time i finished i was just disappointed i just lost interest then i got FFXIII-2 and that games story and everything was bullcrap they shoud just stop with all these sequels its stoopid. Versus XIII didnt have that stupid combat system and looked like KH so I was alrite with it.

However i would rather see KHIII than Versus XIII so yea if this whole secret cancellation thing is true than maybe the KH team have already started on KHIII.

Anyway its says that mechanics from Versus XIII might be carried over to FFXV so maybe its not completely dead if these rumors are true of course.

Its a Win-Win for me i guess even though my KH Fanboy is crying and cant stop(/^_^)/
