My favorite was Final Fantasy 3 because that was the first one I ever played on the ds. The battles, graphics, and sound were really great for me.

As a main series game. Final Fantasy IX, Zidane 'nuff said. Final Fantasy IV and XII were good as well... or at least I thought they were.

 

As a spin off game. It's a tie between Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Theatrhythm or Dissidia. They are all pretty good games especially 4 Heroes of Light that game made nostalgia punch me in the face.

me too....shhhhhhh lower your voice. if any Fanboy in the horrible FF Fanbase heard that he'll come here and start jabbering on you about what a Final Fantasy game is: trust me...I've been with the FF Fanbase for so long and I can Say (not everyone but the majority) that The Final Fantasy Fanbase is the WORST Fanbase in the history of Fanbases....they're constantly fighting each other defending their favorite FF game and if they ever gonna hear you that you loved FFXIII they'll gonna say: why do you like this game you're an asshole for liking that game you should love FFVII.....you should worship FFVII.........I swear to God this is what literaly happended to me every single time I asked them about anything...and I mean ANYTHING in the FF franchise

Judging by the way this is structured... I'm going to guess that you haven't played many Final Fantasy games. Please clarify if you have.

I've played FF IV VII VIII IX and even the horrible Final Fantasy 12

and even spin offs like the crystal Chronicles series and dissidia..even Crisis Core & Dirge of Cerberus........but XIII & XIII-2 is my favorites even though I played the Classics.......you've got a problem with that??????

 

even though I played the Classics I love XIII but the FF Fanbase are pissed of because of that for no reason.....everyone has his Favorite game in the franchise....if they don't accept this fact....then I feel pity for The Monkey minded Final Fantasy Fanbase

Final Fantasy II, I hate it with such a passion that I love it, that and the story actually made me cry.

Okay, so, since I am still technically new to the Final Fantasy Universe,(I've only played Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Dissidia's 1 and 2, and Final Fantasy XIII), I have to say that my favorite so far is Final Fantasy IV. I mean seriously, the story is just incredible, and the story is jam packed with epic moments and a lot of tension between Cecil, Rosa and Kain. The other main reason I like Final Fantasy IV is because of Golbez, I mean seriously, he is one epic villain!

Bro, Golbez is NOT the villian. He's a misjudged man used by the real villian, (Zemus). Seriously, it's the same with Jecht. They're NOT the bad guys. I know Zemus only popped up during the ending, but still...

And I only felt tension from Kain, because he liked Rosa. I felt like Cecil only had tension when Kain was 'evil.'

You really don't want me (a huge FF nerd) to go into this. I've played II, IV, VI, VII, Crisis Core, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIII, XIII-2, and Dissidia 012. Still in the process of beating some of them, but anyway...

 

I love X for the story, gameplay, bonus quests, and characters. It's probably my favorite, but XIII comes close for its amazing character development and awesome battle system. Then there's IX. I fell in love with those characters. (: But out of those, X has the most strengths to me. So X it is. (:

The original FFII with Firion, Maria, Leon and Guy. That freaking game broke me with its stupid leveling up system and intense difficulty spikes, those who played it know how time consuming it was to max level up spells and weapon stats! Don't know why but it grew on me and now I miss it. On that note, I can't for FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, It's supposed to use a leveling system like FFII.

Eh... sort of. I'm not really sure WHAT Kain is, because he flip-flops between sides throughout the entire game. Really, I guess he's just and anti-hero

My favourite has to be XII just because I loved the party members you got (especially Balthier-nobody beats the leading man). I also loved how much freedom you got during the game like the monster hunting contracts they were fun

FFVI and IX. It's tough to choose between them. VI had a more interesting story (overall), that opera scene, better sidequests (that scene where you meet Gau's father touches my so deeply thinking about it even now) and a better villain (slightly), better spells and characters with better unique attacks, like chainsaw

and a better battle system.

 

But FFIX had the most beautiful music ever heard in a videogame, and was far more emotionally investing. I liked the equal treatment all it's cast got (bar Quina), it had funny moments, philosophical themes, better towns, a better structured story and the perfect ending. And Zidane, who is my favorite protagonist ever and likely always will be. He was a refreshing change from Cloud and Squall, he was funny, yet serious and thoughtful when need be and his end game actions (those who beat it should know what I'm talking about) were absolutely amazing, not in a cool way, just the fact he would go through all that just showed the brilliant man that he is. Truly an amazing character and person.
