Posted August 2, 201213 yr I've been noticing a lot of KH gamers loving Birth By Sleep. I've never played the game personally, so I'm curious as to what makes BBS such a 'good'/memorable game for so many people? (The battling mechanics, the story, the characters, etc.?)
August 2, 201213 yr All of it. I think Aqua's battling mechanics are the best in the series. The plot in the game really opens up the story and adds on perfectly. The characters buildups are amazing. You can actually feel how strong their connection is. Edited August 2, 201213 yr by Runay
August 2, 201213 yr For one, you have 3 playable stories, the most for any KH game so far. And each character has their own separate commands. Also, fusing new commands is fun. Then,it comes to Mirage arena, which puts you against a Gauntlet of enemies, or you can do other minigames. Also, the combat system evolved greatly, to allow easy acess of special attacks, along with Shotlocks, which are like limits.
August 2, 201213 yr BBS has the best command system, 3 different playable characters with different fighting styles, and a great story that shows where it all began. Melding commands is like christmas .You never know what you will get . The feeling of joy when you meld a rare command is great !.Mirage Arena can be played endlessly without getting bored and there are pretty hard secret bosses..Up until DDD its probably the most challenging of the KH series. I also feel its replay value is pretty high. You also can choose different ways to anniliate your enemies whether it commands, shotlocks or D-links.Plenty of variety to shake things up.
August 2, 201213 yr Because we thought the system was fun and the characters were intersting. Though, as someone who enjoyed Days, my opinion technically isn't worth anything.
August 3, 201213 yr The battle system is the best, the characters are best, and the story is epic. bottom line
August 3, 201213 yr Flaming Lea summed it up for me. The variety of the battling mechanics was brilliant! Even after i beat the game i still wanted to go back and randomly meld together new commands. The pacing of how fast we get new commands was mainly based on the player, so even if you didn't care for it you didn't have to deal with it. The was story was nicely paced too. It didn't go by too fast and it never seemed too long when you want to get all of the treasures.
August 3, 201213 yr It was the first high quality KH game released since 2. Gameplay is great Lots of great new stuff Story ranged from good to okay to meh to Star Wars Has lots of plot relevance. Ventus wields his keyblade backwards Xehanort is Leonard Nemoy Eraqus is Mark Hamill Aqua's boobs
August 3, 201213 yr Aqua's boobs datbust. But seriously, it had a great cast and introduced the Command Deck, which is amazing. The gameplay is the strongest point, with story at a close second. Blank Points (the secret ending video) was awesome.
August 3, 201213 yr Everything.....from the gameplay to the badass and evil characters to the moaning to the boobs, and so on.
August 3, 201213 yr I think the fighting style is the best in the series and the characters and story are great. And yes, the secret ending was amazing. There's something about BbS that just makes me love it... I feel like the theme of friendship and loyalty to friends is the main theme in this game, so it's pretty deep
August 3, 201213 yr Everything! ;p But seriousl the graphics and the fighting system are just amazing. The meaning and the story are beautiful too. Well yep thats it
August 3, 201213 yr The battle system, the story, the main characters were new... just a combination of things. It really is a great game.
August 3, 201213 yr Battle System is fun and it doesn't feel repetive Story advances and is intresting Epic Soundtrack Epic bosses Even more epic secret bosses 3 different characters which actually feels different to play. Well thought and made level design Ventus' left nipple
August 3, 201213 yr I'm gonna have to say the addition of the Command Deck as well seeing as games like 358/2 Days and CoM were button-mashers due to the lack of this system. It also had a great plot and was a legitimate high-quality KH title which is why it has been dubbed Kingdom Hearts "0" in interviews in terms of importance. It's definitely a must-play for any KH fan.
August 4, 201213 yr I honestly don't know. I enjoyed the combat system, but frankly, for all the talk people do about the story being great, it's really not. It's mediocre at best. There's little to nothing driving the plot along, the character arcs are poorly executed, and its attempt at drama falls flat.
August 4, 201213 yr I think its because of how diferent i was compared to the other KH games. It introduced the command battle system and also introduced multiple playable stories happening simultaneously. I liked its story a lot too, as well as the worlds in it and the battling. I don't think it is the best though but thats IMO
