So will Kingdom Hearts 3D be considered canon in Twewy

Posted

Since the game went out of its way to show that Neku and co. lived in their true game unlike the FF cast, and even brought elements from their game such as the reapers game and THE PUCK, so would it be ppossible if they made a twewy2 that Neku and co would be able to talk about what happened in 3D

The other KH games aren't canon in the universes of their respective worlds' movies, so I doubt it's canon in TWEWY continuity.

Considering FF cameos arent canon im sure the same applies to TWEWY

You clearly don't know much about TWEWY if you think this 3D draws from the canon version of TWEWY

TWEWY very explicitly says there are alternate worlds and such, as seen in Another Day. Neku and co. and from one of these alternate worlds, namely, one where they were killed. Keep in mind that in the actual game, Neku, Joshua, Beat, Shiki and Rhyme were never actually together, that should be hint enough.

Even if they went out of there way with TWEWY in KH3D the simple answer is still no for the same reasons KH isn't considered cannon when it comes to FF or the disney worlds.

Isn't it just a dream anyway...meaning they don't really exist as they are in the dream realm or something along those lines...

TWEWY made an effort to be canon, however. They tried to make it fit within KH logic, something a Final Fantasy hasn't done yet.

Also, Neku's world is acknowledged to exist, unlike FF worlds

So until proven otherwise, I'm going to assume that an alternate version of The World Ends With You exists in the KH universe.

Not in this case. The TWEWY cast died at some point before, and Joshua brought them to the Dream World in order to attempt to resurrect them.

Hmm...fair enough...

TWEWY was treated more similar to how they treat Disney worlds in the game rather than Final Fantasy.

No, it is not considered canon in TWEWY.

i know my twewy canon, and what i was trying to get at simply suggested that the gang from twewy were targeted again by the reapers or maybe even the angels and forced into another game, but at one point in time all 5 characters were together (though rhyme was a pin and since she doesn't remember crap anyway she is excluded). pretty much what i wanted to know was if sora and riku could possibly make a cameo in twewy2 and Neku and co would recognize them

I guess you could consider the Final Fantasy people to be alternate too, but they're a little too random and thrown together, that's why. I mean, it could be another Dissidia. They're just teleported to another world. It's like Final Fantasy Tactics. Cloud was in it, but he mentioned he used a teleporting device from another world.

I think I remember Nomura saying that their appearance in 3d would somehow lead to a sequel to TWEWY, but...that was a long time ago that I read that and I could very possibly be remembering wrong.

But they are clearly the personalities they had in day one. Additionally, at the end of TWEWY, Neku takes off his headphones. He still has them here. (And his description says he wouldn't be caught dead without them.

The difference is that most of Final Fantasys don't have established alternate dimensions, while TWEWY does. That makes it closer to canon than anything in FF so far

Well, all of the Final Fantasy's are different dimensions of each other, right? so they could just be in Kingdom Hearts mashed together.

i wouldnt say that their personalities match their day one selves, Neku isn't nearly as anti-social and after wearing those headphones for such a long ass time i would be surprised if he didnt care about them. but my argument stems from the relationship between Joshua and neku. from joshua's perspective he thought Neku didn't consider him a friend, the only reason that would be is if Neku discovered Joshua's dealings in the reaper's game (which he didn't find out until the end of his respective game), but with Neku accepting Joshua as a friend this shows his endgame personality.

Hmm, I'm concerned about the continuity of KH and TWEWY combined together. Say if a TWEWY world (Shibuya) appears in KH3 or later games, how are they gonna cooperate the reapers game into KH? Disney is partners with SE, and u know how clean they are (well not too clean, we heard a few cuss words in COM, BBS, 2, and DDD). In TWEWY universe, u have to be dead in order to play the reapers game and u know how Disney feels about the element of death.

Tell me, how u suppose to include the reaper's game into Kingdom Hearts? I wonder wat SE would do...

Well, they aren't explicitly alternate dimensions, simply different fictional worlds. TWEWY actually acknowledges alternate versions of the same thing, where things went slightly differently.

that's more of a KH trope than anything. When Neku meets Sora, he's day one all the way. By the end, he's like he is at the end of the game. That's just sort of how it works in KH. Accelerated character development.

As Nomura would say: "Its up to the viewer."

u know how Disney feels about the element of death.

Are you kidding me? Most of the Disney Princess's mothers died before the course of the movies, Bambi's mother was actually killed during the movie. The Black Caudron's antagonist, the Horned King, raised an army of skeletons from the dead. On top of that, instead of being imprisoned many Disney Villains die particularly gruesome deaths via impaling (Maleficent/Usula), falling from a great height (Gaston/The Queen/possibly Frollo), strangulation (Clayton) or being burned alive (possibly Frollo). I think its safe to say that, as long as the moment of death isn't shown on-screen, Disney is perfectly comfortable with the concept of death.

well that was back during the good ol days of disney where there were actual lessons taught in their movies, but now it is nothing but gumdrops and rainbows and the bad guy usually ending up in a funny ( i use the term loosely) situation.

That's wat im trying to say. In TWEWY they show shooting scenes in the RG, as well as they last scene with Neku and Joshua at standoff. Tell me, how are they gonna put this in KH?

If SE cancels partnership with Disney, the KH series will be Teen rated and this kind of situation will be easier to work with. But if they stay with Disney, KH has to be E10+
