So i have been wondering about Vanitas appearance in DDD. At the end of Birth By Sleep ven defeats vanitas. So why exactly did sora see vanitas. Is it that vanitas returned to ventus heart which is locked away in sora for protection would that mean vanitas is inside sora as well? Or possibily he did what Ven did with sora hide his heart within Xeahnort. Especially Now that we know about the thirteen darknesses. Could Vanitas be a part of them. tell me what you think.

I think I read somewhere that Nomura said it was Ven's heart reacting to Young Xehanort and seeing Vanitas. It wasn't very specific, but I think it was more like a memory for Ven. I'd be awesome if Vanitas was back though.

I love Vanitas, and if he makes a return in KH3, I'll be satisfied.

He was talking about Ven and Xion. And Vanitas is presumably dead. Nomura said that wherever YX goes there's some kind of dark reaction to a heart... or something. So we can guess that Vanitas was only seen due to Ven's heart reacting.

I think it's entirely possible for Vanitas to come back if only because there aren't a lot of villains that are KH original that haven't been essentially discounted to draw from if he doesn't. I'm not saying that he has to be there or that he will be. It just seems more likely that he would be returning than wouldn't be.

 

Vanitas, in a tie with Roxas, is my favourite KH character so I'm going to hang onto that hope, however small it may be, that he will return.

Sometimes... i think Nomura did that on purpose.. to bring headaches to our lives... (that and the Time travel plot X( ). Anyway, as Ventus is inside Sora, it could have reacct somehow bringing Vanitas for a moment.... that or more Time travel complex ¬¬

Oh and another thing... Vanitas was probably put in the game so he could be put in the trailer so there would be better sales... due to his popularity.

tutti frutti. I'm hoping that Vanitas does in fact come back. He was too good of a villain to be defeated in one game. If not for what Xehanort wanted, I could easily see Vanitas as the type of person who would want to destroy anything and everything that he possibly could. Though it could be possible that Vanitas is inside Sora, which is something I would like to see, more so like a split personality for Sora. Sora could be good on one note, and then Vanitas could take over and wreck havok as he sees fit to help throw off some of Sora's allies.

That's part of his charm. Death has been cheapened in the KH universe. All the main bad guys keep coming back. But Vanitas died 10 years ago and he's still dead. He's a one shot villain and is one of the few to show that death isn't cheap and being evil doesn't pay. I love Vanitas, but I actually hope he's gone for good.

I kinda hope he's gone for good too just to keep his value, but would it be possible he coexists in Sora's heart along with Ven? Maybe he'll be a problem when they try to restore him and Sora might have to fight him in his heart, would make for a good boss fight and cameo without forcing him back in the story.

Sadly... yeah. Xemnas is back. Ansem is back. Saix is back. Xigbar is back. Maleficent returned long ago. Nomura even said the other dead Org members are back, so that means Marluxia (in a sense) is also back. All of the main bad guys from previous games (other than Sora's Heartless)... not dead.

The thing that I find funny with death and villains in video games, more so with the KH universe, is that more so the villains seem to find a way to cheat death in some way, shape or form, but not the good guys, outside of rare exclusions, like collecting something, wishing for it, or something that seems easy for the hero to do.

Eraqus isn't dead. He's inside Terra's heart. Xion is also not dead, she simply merged back into Sora with Roxas, where she was meant to be.

I'm actually okay with some of them returning (Ansem/Xemnas help bring some of the most influential bosses for nostalgia; and I'm actually glad to see the d*****bag villains Saix and Xigbar just so we could personally take them out) and it makes sense the Organization's back, but I really hope excluding those that have already been shown that they're no longer influential to story AT ALL. It felt good to fight Xemnas and Ansem again in KH3D, but I do hope they're at most only a side boss in KH3.

Wouldn't be cool if last minute he tries to ruin Xehanort's plan? (Unfortunately most likely a failed attempt, but he might just do something very good) I can see it has happening, and I'd rather seem him try to betray him rather than some Xigbar betrayal theories (Xigbar may be a jerk, but even he should have some loyalty principles)
