Sora Has the Weirdest Character Arc Ever

Posted

Think about it: in KH1, Sora is a fairly smart, optimistic boy who wants to see the world. he's a little naive, but has a strong sense of justice

In Com, he's angry all the time, but still an optimist.

In KH2, Sora is moronic and forgetful, and optimistic to a fault.

In KH3D, Sora has ADHD and is an optimist.

...

Does that even count as character development? I mean... what does that even mean?

The effects of not going to school?

Then again AVT never went to school.

So the effects of not being an apprentice of a Keyblade Master.

TAV are all pretty stupid too...

ADHD Sora annoyed me...

but he was that way because remember, he wasn't even up to taking the MoM when Master Yen Sid asked, he only did it because Riku was and he figured, alright, I'll do it alongside my best friend. But even then, he simply doesn't care about it.

Sora in KH2 was perfectly fine to me, though he was forgetful and a bit more childish, but I liked that factor for some reason.

I agree with this. Also, I think he's showing promise, he's finally learning about all the "people" in his heart that he needs to save and learning about their memories.

There was significant development in KH, erased any in CoM, literally brain dead at times in KH2, DDD appeared to have some but I'm not convinced it will stick

LOL. I love how that happened in the series and everyone's always mentioning it.

I think, we cannot say it often enough! It's just hilarious! :D

he meant the MoM, >.> i think

Reeeeally? I believe, he meant his parents

Well his mom did have some role in KH1, which makes it funny because the parents were completely gone afterward. xD It also depends, did his parents care? There are no signs or anything around the island asking for sightings of Sora or the others at all when they do return. Not that that matters anyway. xD

I guess, their parent suff happens off-screen. However, I find it really strange that Sora (KH1) did only care about his "Island, Riku and Kairi" - so he does not even care about Wakka, Selphie and Tidus (okay, no one cares about him anyways xD)

Lol, yeah. Selphie seems to be the only one who survive while Tidus and Wakka only get a mentioning from her. They'll probably never appear again, unless Destiny Island is visited again, because I'm not seeing it as part of the next game at all.

well he said "tests" and the MoM=Mark of Mastery EXAM

tests=exams

Do I really have to point it out?

It was a... joke *le gasp*

But that aside:

Sora's parents seem to be pretty lazy and do not care much about their son at all. "Oh let the 4 year old boy alone on an island... with his smartass little friend!"

So, that's what he learned from them. Now everything makes perfect sense!

*Goes to a bunch of worlds, finding evidence of Terra facing his darkness and overcoming it*

*Upon meeting him, accuses him of going to various worlds doing terrible things, despite only going by the implication that he did ONE abd thing in one world, which she outright denied*

Aqua is the smartest one in the group... but she certainly has her share of dull moments

She was obviously bias based on the teachings of Master Eraqus o.o

Well Eraqus is pretty stupid too, so that explains a lot!

Maybe his parents were consumed by darkness and he has daddy issues due to it passing it on to his kids (apprentices) o.o

no he was 7, prove that we was 4 then ill believe..... even though i can prove he was 7

Fine... prove it. I know that I suck at maths but even I can calculate that much.

Sora was four and Riku was five. Birth By Sleep takes place ten years prior to Kingdom Hearts and in Kingdom Hearts Sora is fourteen. In Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora and Kairi are fifteen and Riku's sixteen. The secret ending in Birth By Sleep takes place a year after Kingdom Hearts 2 therefore, Sora and Kairi are now sixteen and Riku is seventeen.

If that isn't enough then you should look in your Game Manual for KH1 if you have it. It literally states that Sora is 14 in Kingdom Hearts, take the ten years prior to that in Birth By Sleep and you'll understand that he is four.

umm Sora and Kairi are STILL 15 and Riku is STILL 16 even after Blank Points and during the events of DDD :P

Am I the only one seeing the sexual tension between you two? Listen we are all on the same side right? What's the difference with a few years? Now your probably both going to be mad at me two so just get the name calling out of your systems and Handle this like adults... Struggle match.

How so? I mean, Blank Points is one year after the events in KH2, that'd make them 16 and 17, unless the manual for DDD states Sora and Riku's ages as 15 and 16 still, then I'm going with that. But I dun own DDD because I dun have a 3DS.

It was NEVER stated in the game that Blank Points takes a year after KH2. Just what made you think it did?

If you're talking about that scene where Riku meets Terra when they're on the kids' play island, Riku specifically mentions his friends' dad (Sora) brought them there, and Sora starts shouting and waving to his dad, we just never see him in the scene. If you're talking about the scene right before Sora talks to Ven's heart near the end of the game, they are alone on the main island, but their houses are probably pretty close by anyways. Other than that, yes, I doubt Sora and Riku's parents even noticed they were planning to run away on a raft in KH1.

Didn't Ansem the Wise say something like 'How long has it been since I've met him, a year?' when he was talking to Aqua in Blank Points? Not that I think he can accurately keep time in the realm of darkness.
