And there is a whole bunch of mean teachers who are trying to get my dad fired.

I just got back from something really cool! I was supposed to work at a service project with dinner that was promised. When we got there, they handed us a playing card. Then they called up the four 2s to the stage, the 3s, 4s, and 5s to a set of tables off to the side, then had everybody else sit down. Then they unveiled that on the stage was a table completely decked out with a table cloth, silverware, candles, the works. Then they started serving the people on the stage! Platters of food with waitresses, fancy salad, steak and lobster, mashed potatoes, cheesecake, all of that stuff. Simultaneously, they let the tables go over to a banquet line with spaghetti, salad, lemonade, and garlic bread. And finally, all the people sitting on the ground got a bowl of mushy rice and a plastic cup of water.

 

We all ate in that room, uncomfortably staring at each other. Eventually, they're like: Do ya see? This is like the world! Developed and civilized world is up here on the stage, then people with a lower standard of living over here at the tables, and then the rest of the world. Pretty sobering, but also a really neat way to show it.
