i'm just assuming that from the inheritance ceremony riku can weild a keyblade. but after he gave in to darkness he couldent. then he could again becouse he escaped the darkness. but sora's keyblade was originaly riku's. so why didn't sora lose the key blade to give it to riku?

was the keyblade copied or something?

The kingdom key chose Sora permanently ..Riku then got his own again later using Soul Eater as a base for Way to Dawn

Soul Eater?

Soul Eater?

this one

Riku's keyblade was originally named soul eater.

He still wields it, but uses Way to Dawn only now.

oh cool thx guys. sry for all the questions

Soul Eater?

It was Riku's sword/weapon for KH1 through the end of CoM, it later transforms into his Way to Dawn keyblade.

Riku ended up up with a smexier Keyblade anyway, so not a bad trade-off. cX

lol

Err....Soul Eater is not a Keyblade, after all Ansem wielded something similar..in the last battle between him and Sora.

Riku's Keyblade is a keyblade that came from the realm inbetween darkness and light, hence "Way to Dawn". For those who have played DDD you would see Riku pull out the Soul Eater AND Way to Dawn, so they are not the same though look like it.

There are no Keyblades that come from the realm between tho' WttD is a RoL Keyblade. The name more represents Riku.

Riku's Keyblade is the keyblade that guards the twilight, hence its name. That was the point I was trying to make in my post.

No you are wrong .There are no keyblades made from the realm of 'twilight".. Soul Eater was a weapon Riku used before he got WtD,, Later on , it served as a base for WtD..

Riku walks the path of both light and darkness, he walks the path of twilight, its why that specific Keyblade chose him, that's all there is to it.

No that has NOTHING to do with where his keyblade came from . Xehanort specifically said where all keyblades came from . There is NO such thing as a keyblade from the realm of the in between ...WtD's NAME is based off of his path of twilight , not its origin ..Soul Eater is a weapon tied to his heart just like a keyblade is . When he received WtD it used Soul Eater as a base to build off of just like Lea's new keyblade used his chackram to build off of .. Both walk the path of twilight but their keyblades are still from the RoL.

The Keyblade choose Sora when Riku faded to darkness.

The Soul Eater is NOT a keyblade, it's a sword.

Later when Riku "walks the way to dawn" (fights for light, but still utilising the power of darkness)/Is assured of himself (not being controlled by Ansem) he's able to call >A< (not THE keyblade that choose Sora) keyblade. Same way Xehanort lost the ability to wield the keyblade after BBS until he was able to remember his past.

This has nothing to do with gender just bc you cannot back yourself up. You are being quite rude.

Okay fine. I saw the comment on Youtube and used it myself to form a hypothesis, so maybe I am wrong.

But no doubt that Riku's Keyblade took that specific form because of his ability to utilize both light and darkness. As was the point I have been trying to make.

I'm not disputing how it took its form bc keyblades take their forms based off of their wielders heart .I'm just saying its origin is from RoL..

Cool your tits man, everyone always wants to be right.

Just accept you're wrong. This is not a debate.

Actually you're wrong Way to Dawn was a keyblade from the realm of light there is no such thing as keyblade from the inbetween realm. This is fact and has been addressed in both interviews and in-game.

MX addressed the three families of keyblades in his BBS reports.

There are three families of Keyblades: the Keyblades of light we wield, Keyblades of darkness, and Keyblades of heart.

The first and second families differ only in origin; Keyblades of darkness are found in the realm of darkness, and are counterparts to the Keyblades we use in the realm of light.

The third type of key, the Keyblade of heart, came into existence when the World was reorganized after the Keyblade War. Without this key, Kingdom Hearts is forever beyond a person's reach. Only by gathering seven hearts of pure light--hearts completely devoid of darkness--may one forge a Keyblade of heart and open the door to Kingdom Hearts.

And, as stated before, opening this door arguably gives that person control over all worlds and all people.

Riku walks the path of both light and darkness, he walks the path of twilight, its why that specific Keyblade chose him, that's all there is to it.

The path he chose has nothing to do with the type of keyblade he got even Nomura addresses this multiple time during his interviews.

Could you please give an explanation for the new Keyblade "Way to the Dawn" that Riku obtained and the Keyblade Kairi has as well as what the conditions for using a Keyblade are?

There isn't necessarily one Keyblade for the dark side and one for the light side, just as many as there exist people with qualified hearts. Concerning the conditions to wield one, at this stage, "Those with strong hearts" is the only obvious one. However, less obvious conditions still exist and there are still plans for an opportunity to reveal those. Riku's "Way to the Dawn" and Kairi's Keyblade are naturally the same type of Keyblade as Sora's. However there is no particular explanation for the Soul Eater's transfer and occurrence, as well as Riku's handing it to Kairi. When there isn't a normal process of acquisition, I think its OK to think there is some deeper meaning there.

If we directly translate “Way to the Dawn”, “dawn” means “in-between night and daytime”, so does that mean that Keyblade is from the In-between World? In other words, this means the Keyblades that Sora, King Mickey and Riku wield represent the Worlds of Light, Dark and In-between?

Well, if I have to say where they belong, it’s just as you said. But the name of “Way to Dawn” doesn’t have to mean that. This name came from the scene at the end of Riku’s story in KH:COM that suggested which path he would walk on, where he said “The road to dawn.”

Nomura and in game content are cannon there is no way to dispute this.

Well at least this explains why you're not giving up on this argument....

I concede. I don't like arguing with females http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

In short a persons gender has nothing to do with their level as intelligence, just because you were proven wrong does not give you the right to make judgement calls like that. Fact of the matter is Flaming Lea had your card the moment you made your first post, just except your wrong, quit being rude and move on.

Well at least you managed to scuff up a good reply, that's all I needed, not the little side show hogwash.

Thanks! :D

Does everyone here like to troll and argue? Please tell me now so I can "pack my pita" and leave.

If you avoid confrontation your whole life you aren't going to get very far.

On a bit of a side topic, If Riku's Keyblade were a Keyblade of darkness, could wielders of Keyblades from RoL use it?

I know Mickey can wield both Kingdom Key D (The Keyblade for the RoD) and Star Seeker (A Keyblade from the RoL), but he's a bit of an exception. Thoughts?

I think I read that Riku's is a Keyblade of Light. I think....

Yes, other people could use Riku's Keyblade if it were from the RoD. Keyblades them selves aren't picky about which side wielders affiliate with, they only care if you have the right qualifications.
