Which release is better?

Both ;)

That didn't answer my question.

Well I've played FFVII on PS1 and PS3 and there is not much difference unless you have a HD TV, I haven't played the PC version but I would guess that it would be the same as the PS3 version without the HD. So I would say, PS3 if you have a HD TV but if you don't then they are probably both the same, so it doesn't really matter

You have more freedom with the game on the PC, but if your not interested in any of that then they are honestly both the same. The PSN version can also be transferred to a PSP though, if you have one and want a portable FFVII.

I think that it doesn't really matter..but if I have to choose it's pc

They are both pretty much same, but PC version has "Cloud" saving (can play on multiple PCs), 36 achievements and boosters (you can boost your level, mp, hp and etc, good if you are in hurry to finish game , but too low level)

Price should be pretty much same

Both are pretty much identical but the 2012 PC re-release had achievements which gave me something else to shoot for. I never legiitmately aquired the gold chocobo before there was an achievement for it. So i guess on that basis i'd vote for the 2012 PC re-release.

Does the PC (2012) version have a higher resolution?

PC is good, but better may be PS3 cuz you dont need to have a high price system.

The PC version because it isn't a HD remake people want. Unless you mean the PS1 classic on the PSN and if so then it makes no difference which one you get.

The PSN version is exactly the same as the PS1 version, as all PS1 games released on PSN are. HDTV doesn't make a difference whatsoever since they retain the low PS1 resolutions.

The PC version has always had a higher resolution, natch.

PC because the PS3 is the most inferior of all the inferior consoles.

a higher resolution won't do you much good, most of VII is 2D, and I doubt they bothered to get a better resolution for the rerelease

Anyways, the PC version has extra features, but an inferior soundtrack and some glitches not present in the game normally

Everybody is saying they are identical, this is not true, the 2012 release is based on the PC release, not the PS1 release

The PC release is widely regarded as inferior, thanks in no small part to the soundtrack

I tried to find you an FAQ about the changes, but all that's coming up is news stories about VII being rereleased on PC >.>
