So no post of: I like sonic 06 or any post of Love Vs Hate

 

 

So here it is: I challenge all of you...and I mean ALL OF YOU.....to analyze the story of Sonic 06.....all of it

 

I've analyzed it more than twice and I was near the brink of insanity...and I'm proud to say that this story is the most non-sensecal thing I ever seen in my entire life

I will say it didn't make enough sense. It's more like a standalone game that is not a part of the Sonic universe. But... I guess it could've.. done worse??

Yeah i could make sense of it and besides i liked the game i mean yeah the gameplay was bad and the game could have been more polished better but still i liked the story and the fact that they had introduced the Sonic, Shadow and Silver Trinity :].

I dont remember much of the game all I remember was doing the last 15% of the game co-op with my cousin and dieing constantly in an underground chamber filled with moving sand. I still don't understand who Mephiles was, but I thought his name was cute when I heard it.

I didn't like it, but this is what I could muster up.

There is a ceremony happening for the eternal fire or something being preformed by the princess, and robotnik comes up and is like " I'll get you, my pretty! And your little emerald too! LAUGH" Sonic saves her, and she thinks about silver because she met her in the past or something, and sonic is like " I'm Bond. James Bond." and she is like "I'm in love!" And silver is like " Hey, thats the guy who did something not mentioned yet, who I call the iblis trigger!" and then robotnik catches the princess, and she gave sonic her precious, and then tails is like "I saw the ship! It's headed That-a-way!" So they go run through a beach, and then they find a ship and it crashes or something in the forest, and Sonic is all like "I must rescue my love!" And so he is like ZOOOM! And there are like explosions and stuff, and then they go through the desert, and then princess is like "Let's combine our powers to walk across quicksand!" and sonic is all like " Ok!" and they escape and stuff and....

 

Long story short: Silver is from the future to kill sonic because Shadows....shadow told him so. Silver is all like "OK!" and then he tries to kill him, but then they are all like "No! Shadow's Shadow is the evil dude!" and silver says "Lets team up!" and then stuff happens, and sonic dies, and they are all sent to the space between times, and then they are all like, NOOO! Sonic! and the princess is like "OH NO MY LOVE! OH WAIT, THE EMERALDS!" So they... brb thunder storm I'll finish later.

*Challenge Accepted* It never happened when Iblis' flame was blown out. The End.

I stopped bothering to look at it when I noticed 4 very, very wrong things. One "Ontological loop",Who the spoot originally had the Blue Chaos Emerald"? Two "where did dat Red Chaos Emerald come from? Three: There were at least 7 games that occurred (5 of which REQUIRED the presence of the emeralds) within the 210 year period that '06 takes place in. How any of them happened or if they even happened is never addressed or mentioned. Four:

Hedgehog Kissing.

Most of what i remember amongst the 'princess kidnapped, princess free, princess kidnapped, princess free' malarky was the Elise would rather blindly jump off the Egg Genesis and effectively commit suicide (she had no clue Sonic would be there to catch her) than be Eggmans prisoner.

yep....If Elise was holding on that damn blue emerald....HOW ANYTHING BEFORE THIS GAME EVEN HAPPENED?????

and also something that bothers me a lot.....the Elise can't cry thing............according to the Story.....10 years ago lord Soleanna sealed Iblis inside his daughter....if she ever cried...Iblis will be released......there is two problems with this...1what child won't cry during his lifetime???.......2 HOW CAN SHE CRY OVER A GUY THAT SHE JUST MET IN THE SAME DAY AND NOT CRY OVER HER FATHER'S DEATH????????????

 

also......the romance between Sonic & Elise...outside of the beastiality thing......it's so unrealistc...there is no build up....she just met him few ours ago...and suddenly she felt in love with him????? don't tell me this is a love from the first look.......even Belle & the Beast has a build up for their relationship..................

also: how does opening Random Rift with chaos control send you to your wanted location.....this isn't how chaos control work at all.....

 

 

the last thing that really bothered me......when mephlies killed Sonic......now we know the reason for that stupid Silver existence in the game ...is to go back in time to kill sonic to make Elise Cry.........if it's that damn easy....WHY BOTHER BRINGING SILVER INTO IT AT ALL....WHY WASTE YOUR TIME.............

also Mephiles can time travel without a Chaos emerald(that scene with Shadow & Rouge when he send him to the future) ....if he can time travel whenever he damn well please..........WHY NOT TIME TRAVLE TO THE PERIOD WHERE IBLIS WAS RELEASED SO YOU CAN FORGE WITH HIM

 

in fact....WHY SONIC AND HIS FRIENDS DIDN'T TIME TRAVEL TO THE PERIOD WHERE SOLARIS WAS A TINY FLAME FROM THE BEGINNING INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH ALL THAT TROUBLE.

 

and if they blew up Solaris when he was a tiny flame.........HOW DID SOLEANNA EVEN EXIST AFTER THIS..........THAT WOULD NEGATE ANYTHING SOLARIS RELATED

Sonic 06 takes place in a semi-consistent pocket timeline of the Sonic Universe, Eggman has an established history with Sonic, and at the very least, Shadow the Hedgehog has happened, as he has association with GUN.

Sonic's story revolves around the standard princess rescuing affair, with an implicit unrequited love thrown into the mix. As with previous Sonic games, he has the least impact on the story overall until the end. Sonic helps Elise, he princess of the game, out of a sense of extreme chivalry, as well as a prerogative to be the antagonist to Eggman. Eggman himself serves as a means to bring about the actual threat of the story; Iblis and Mephiles, the two halves of Solaris. Silver's story is a coming of age story, boy meets world story, and touches on the themes of life and death as Silver comes to grips with a non-apocalyptic future. There are also themes of trust in the story, in the form of his companion Blaze, as well as Amy, and eventually Sonic. Mephiles uses Silver as a means to indirectly cause the apocalypse by killing Sonic, which can have a variety of meanings depending on interpretation; it could be that Mephiles doesn't wish to get his hands dirty, it could imply he himself isn't powerful enough to kill Sonic himself yet, or that he gets a degree of pleasure out of tricking Silver into causing the apocalypse he is trying to staunch. Another possibility could be that he never intended to have Silver kill Sonic, but was rather using him to drive Sonic and Else closer so that she would cry when he ultimately killed him. Ultimately, Silver figures out the truth and joins Sonic.

Shadow's story, unlike previous games, does not deal with his past, instead focusing on his future. Shadow, having developed over the past several games, has left his past behind him, as evidenced by his lack of desire to utilize time travel in order to save Maria, and has forgiven humanity, as such, when Mephiles attempts to lead Shadow astray by revealing that humanity blamed him for the apocalypse, and imprisoned him (Death implicit) Shadow is able to turn away. Eventually, Shadow enters a final conflict with Mephiles, he unleashes his true potential and defeats his rival.

The plot makes heavy use of a new ability, a type of double chaos control that allows a person to travel backwards in time (This requires two of the seven chaos emeralds)

At one point, Silver gives the blue chaos emerald to a young Elise, who safeguards it in the future. Contrary to common belief, this doesn't create a time paradox eliminating the rest of the games, as a stable time loop in which the emerald appears in the future, while the old version is sent to the past solves the situation.

During the endgame, Mephiles appears and uses a chaos emerald to kill Sonic, causing Elise to cry, destroying time. Not giving up, Silver, Shadow, and Sonic's friends team up and gather the emeralds from across time. Using their power, as well as a symbolic 'kiss of life' from Elise (Who has established magic powers from a previous point in the game), they are able to revive Sonic. Using the chaos emerald, he, Silver and Shadow transform into more powerful Super Forms. At that point, Shadow goes to the past to defeat Solaris, the combined form of Mephiles and Iblis in case you forgot, while Sonic and Silver do the same for the present and future respectively. The symbolism is evident, in that Shadow is working to erase the past, as he has done before, while Silver represents the hope for a better future, or 'silver lining' while Sonic being in the present represents seizing the moment.

time is further destroyed along with Solaris, which leads to the final dilemma of the game, Elise and Sonic are presented with the opportunity to erase Solaris from existence, but doing so will cause the events of the game to be undone. Elise shows that she values the memories of Sonic to such a degree that she considers letting time be erased simply to allow her to keep his memories, illustrating how much she cares about him, but ultimately she decides to erase Solaris.

The ending, however, implies that their bond was strong enough to allow some degree of their memories to continue into the new timeline, now the canon sonic timeline, as Sonic is shown to be running in the rooftops of Elise's hometown, and Elise feels a breeze from Sonic's speed, and smiles, implying she knows the truth as well.

Yeah I saw this long time ago...THIS is how the game supposed to be before Yuji Naka left the company half-way through the development.

That's what happens when a game is rushed out. They had to ignore minor details that came back to bite them in the ass.

 

Also, as much as I agree that Sonic 06 is wasted potential, you have to admit that the OST is probably one of the best of any Sonic game yet.

Boy am I glad I never played 06.

 

All I want is my Sonic Adventure 3 so this series can win my respect back. Is that too much to ask?

I know that Sonic 06 was a really bad game with a ton of glitches and crappy gameplay. But in your perspective, how bad was the game for you? Like, what ever happened to you in the game that made you want to sell it back to the store? To be honest, I really hated SIlver's story. most (or if not all) of the levels in the game were pretty boring to me. And I have to say, that his gameplay sucks. As for Shadow...meh his gameplay is alright but could've been a lot better. they should have made Shadow faster. And as for Sonic,  didn't like it all that much everything was glitchy, his model looked TERRIBLE, and he dates a human. Only good things i have to say i like about 06 are Blaze's gameplay and the music. those were the best parts of the game.

Well, I'd say it had great music but that was about it. Blaze was the only character I found to work well in the game. Other than that it wasn't too great of a game. The glitches are funny to see sometimes though.

The game was a disgusting abomination. It wasn't even finished.

Infinite +s on the music though.
