Which system should I get, a PSP or PS3?

Posted

Let me start by saying I'm incredibly indecisive, and always second guess my choices whenever I make them.  I'm thinking to get either a PSP or PS3, since I have neither and there's games for both that I'd like. I *sort* of have the opportunity to get one or the other, but I'm having such a hard time deciding!  My sister owns a PSP, so I've gotten to play Dissidia, BbS and Crisis Core.  However, I'd love for us to be able to play together, which is why I was considering getting a PSP.

On the other hand, I've always wanted a PS3.  I'm seriously wanting to get 1.5 when it comes out, as well as play Final Fantasy XIII to see if it's really as bad as everyone says. :P  I'd want to get the FF X remake when it comes out as well, so I've got plenty of titles to purchase for the PS3.  But--it's more expensive, and it means I still won't have my own PSP to play with my sister and friends.

...Geez, why do these kinds of decisions have to be so hard?

PS3 hands down.

I'd say the PS3 is the better option.

PSP sucks so much, every time i have played any PSP it was all derpy. GET A PS3. But remember that the newer models can't play PS2 games, but they can play PS1 games.

lol Ps3 ofcourse, PSP is nearing death, :)

Well I think I would choose the ps3 because you can always play her psp but you can't play a ps3 since she doesn't have one I'm not sure if that made any sense

PS3 of course. PSP had a good run but now we have the PS3 :P and 1.5 remix is coming out on it lol

I think you'd be better off purchasing the PS3. It's a lot better. xD

You'll be able to purchase a PSP once you have enough money, though. :3

Estacion de Juegos 3. Still has exclusives and games coming out for the next few years.

Definitely the PS3, better titles to choose from, althouth BbS came out on the PSP. The PS3 has a much wider life cycle and room/options for more games and there are so many new games they are working on for it.

Wow, it looks like the PS3's the way to go!  I hadn't been expecting such an overwhelming response in its favor, lol.  Thanks for the advice!  Maybe I'll convince myself to just bite it and get one...are they really as wonderful as they seem?

Aw, really?  I mean, I know I like the PSP because my sister has it, but still...  I'm thinking a PS3 might be better, so that way I can actually play something new.  As for the PS2 compatibility; I'd noticed that when I first started looking at them a couple years ago, which was why I had decided to go for a simple PS2 at the time.  But now that I have the PS2 I don't really think the PS3 would need to be compatible.  Thanks for mentioning that, though.

Don't worry; that made perfect sense.  That's kind of what I'd been thinking as well.

Yeah...you're probably right. ;)  In the next year(s) or so I'll bet you could probably get a PSP for almost nothing.

Most of the good PS2 and PSP games will be made available on the PlayStation Store or as a HD remaster.

I prefer PS3. If you think about it: " I'll buy a PSP and the same games as my sister". It will get boring very quickly, plus you're not getting any new game experiences.

PS3 on the other hand, has lots of amazing games and remakes yet to come. And why not let your sister play the PS3, since she lets you use her PSP.

That's what I think. :)

Save a little money and get both. A used psp is only about $40 right now.

Ps3, it sounds like you only want the psp to play with your friends. Ps3 has free online play and a bunch of people looking to play as well.

Edit: edit.

PS3.

My best friend gave me his PSP for free last Easter because of how much he knew I wanted to play BbS, so that was awesome of him. But I got a PS3 for Christmas this year and it's amazing. Especially the Sly Cooper trilogy. xD Anyway, if anything, get it for the KHHD ReMiX (which seriously better get a European release this time or I will scream at my lack of an EU Re:CoM).

At least you've played the PSP before, and you can still borrow it from here on out. PSP's are a dying console unfortunately, so you'd best opt for the PS3, especially as you said yourself you have more game choices.

Buy PS3,you should buy PSP as well though, you can find those on crazily cheap prices so getting one shouldn't be problem.

PSP is kinda faded so I'd say PS3.

PS3. Why? Because Rob owns it......and it has great exclusives.
