Do your parents control what games you buy?

Well no, but I mostly play RPGs so it's ok.

And you?

I would never even want to buy a game with a lot of sex or violence.

  • Not really since most of them are RPGs. Plus, they are the ones buying them most of the time.

  • I'm allowed to buy what I want, I pay for it with my own money I earn, and any money they give me I can spend as I see fit, including alcohol etc. Even when I was younger and my mother would actually

Yes. This year, until after Nov. 21st, 2013, I cannot get any games rated M (for mature).

You know, now that I think back on it I don't think my dad was even aware that games had age ratings... He's sort of the "all games are for kids/are all family friendly" kind of fellow. My mom was aware though.

For me, they don't really control what I buy, but I don't really believe that any of my games are really big problems :P

Actually, my mom is really the boss of me since my dad works to the point I dont see him much, and so my mom is in charge. But when it comes to shows, movies, and games, she doesn't really care as long as she doesnt have to have watch. In fact I told her that me and my sister were going to see Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, and she was like whatever as long as she doesnt have to go. So I have alot of freedom when it comes to any sort of media. (I even watch Big Daddy when I was 3-4 for the first time and they didnt care (: )

They don't really care what I buy, but I don't like showing some of the games to them. I doubt there would be trouble, but I like avoiding awkward moments xD

Um, maybe?  I've never tried.

They wouldn't like me playing games with sex or excessive violence. I wouldn't like me playing games with sex or excessive violence.

They don't really worry much when the only games I like to play are Epic Mickey, KH, FF, and Pokemon. They'll only say "no" if I ran up to them asking if they can buy/order for me Assassin's Creed or Halo or some other game that would be a better example.

Come on Lu Xun. Lol.

Nope. Lol.

They used to, but now they don't.

They truly don't care, but they are against me getting stuff like Saints Row...for obvious reasons.

My mom is way over protective. Though, i was playing Assassin's Creed and my dad walked in and practically had a heart attack....

Yes kinda, but I don't like a lot of violence or sex. I mean seriously who would play gore filled blood fest when you can beat up heartless, that explode like pinatas? It is like the morning of your birthday every time you pick up your keyblade.  :D

My parents buy me what i want if they are happy enough with my grades. but i doubt they would mind unless it has cursing and pornography. im sure that my parents wont mind me playing first person shooters

I was already an adult when video games were 1st released. But the games then dont compare to now.

not anymore

muahahahahahaaha

No, but they also trust me with what I get and I am really into games with story lines and such, so games like grand theft auto just don't work for me anyways. My parents never worry, and they never have.

nah i mostly play games like Zelda Mario Kingdom Hearts  and stuff like that i do like to play M rated games my mom dosent really care what i play

Seeing as I'm not a pre-pubscent skid, nope. But even when I was a kid I was tearin' it up on Grove Street.

Nope, never have. Even as a kid, they let me play games like doom, quake or anything of the like. Not because they didn't care, but because they trusted that i could distinguish real life from video games. I don't have to worry about that now though. Being legally able to buy M rated games and all that.

They probably would be. But they're far to ignorant to know what's in my games unless I showed it to them.

My parents did when I was younger.

Since I was 13, I could buy wathever game I wanted, so as long as it wasn't too expensive.

No because i have more 20 years so i decide what games i will play   :D

when I was underaged, I got a lot of games I wanted as a present for birthday or christmas

=> Zelda, Pokemon, Mario  etc

now I have to buy games by myself and of course, I can decide what I want to play

but all games have no rating over 16 because I don't like zombie etc games and these games usually are 18+

They don't care...
