Okay, I know that there really IS no Kingdom Hearts chess set, and there likely never will be, but just hear me out for a minute.  Suppose Square Enix decided to be really kind to us and make a chess set similar to the Mario one made by USAopoly, who do you think all the chess pieces would be?

 

Personally, I think it'd go as follows:

White King: Sora

White Queen: Mickey

Bishops: Donald & Goofy

Knights: Spirits

Rooks: Riku and Kairi

Not sure what the pawns would be...perhaps Kingdom Keys?  Thoughts on that one?

 

Black King: Xehanort

Black Queen: Braig

Bishops: Ventus and Vanitas

Knights: Dusks

Rooks: Saix and hmm...young Master Xehanort?

Pawns: Heartless

 

Make up your own conclusions!  What pieces do you think there would be?

 

This would actually make me play chess for once in my life.

I think the pawns should be the spirits so that we could play with 6 (that is the number right?) different ones.  And yes kirby - there will be a meow wow.  And the knights could be Roxas and Axel.

Why is Ventus on Xehanort's side?

If there were a kingdom hearts chess set I would so buy it even though a three year old could probably beat me at chess.  So Xehanort = King and Braig = Queen, Xehanort x Braig anyone lol? just kidding

 

I would make the white pawns a crown, maybe a wayfinder, or the iconic heart. And as for the black I'd probably switch Ventus with Ansem Seeker of Darkness, and also stick Xemnas somewhere in there too.  A kingdom hearts chess set, that's a really creative idea though.

Tell you what, if there's enough interest I'll make the sets and sell them myself. As soon as I get permission from Tetsuya Nomura to do it, as well as own a manufacturing industry or at least have influence over it.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny to put two guys as king and queen myself but I thought, "Hey, why not? They did it with the Nintendo version!"

I'd placed him there because he was sort of Xehanort's pawn in BbS.  But yeah, maybe someone else would do better there, perhaps Terra?

same as you but insteam of spirits being the nights it would be aqua and ven and insted of mickey as queen it would be minnie (becouse it makes much more sense) instead of sora as king it'd be mickey. (mickey actually is a king and i dont want sora to barely be able to move) sora needs an epic part in this. how can chess do kingdom hearts anyway? (no offence) kingdom hearts is so much greater that chess! i still need pieces for terra and of course SORA!!!! terra is cool and all but hes not as cool as the rest of the kingdom hearts charicters. sora on the other hand IS AWESOME!!!!

I'd make it... Though I'd add some chips and trump it up to make everyone appear...

I've already speculated on a KH/chess hybrid, in the form of the series's next antagonist(s) being a Light-based version of Team Plasma, complete with white chess-piece-themed armors and attires.

Actually...yeah, that's one thing I didn't like about my own combination; Sora's the king, and therefore can only move one space.  I kind of like the idea of Sora being the queen, since he'd get to do more that way.  I might go revise mine.

Yep, that's true!  I just got a Mario set recently and was cracking up at which people got which roles.  I'd thought surely Princess Peach would be queen.
