Fact or Fiction? PS4 announcement on February 20th

PS4 will be announced on February 20th. Can anyone confirm or debunk this? (Please, someone debunk this!)
In case you can't visit the site, here is the article:

The WSJ is confirming what we all saw in Sony's slick video teaser for its upcoming February 20th event: Sony will be announcing the PlayStation 4. Citing the ol' reliable 'people familiar with the matter', the WSJ says that the PS4 will be announced on February 20th and be released later this year.

The WSJ also reports that Sony will try to throw in more "social gaming aspects" in the PS4, focusing more on how people "interact with the machine" than the sheer hardware power of the system. Sony had considered ditching the disk drive and using game downloads but decided that video game file sizes would be too large and Internet connections may be too slow to handle the load. Which means we can still expect the ol' disk bay to be in the PS4. The announcement of the PS4 will beat Microsoft's Xbox 360 successor to the punch, it's unclear if the actual next generation system will too. Both are expected to launch by this holiday season. Too soon to tell. We'll have to wait for the 20th and see

Right now it's only a rumor, so maybe, maybe not. I'm hoping for some news about the Vita, like Sony supporting it more.

Who knows. I don't care really anyways, I'm waiting for the new Xbox ;P

Why do you want it debunked?

They should save the Vita from the death it's facing before announcing any PS4.  I think it's still way too soon for it anyways.  But like people have said, it's just a rumor.  I don't think it would be very smart of Sony to release something like that yet.

Sony is planning for Microsoft to announce their new Xbox, and it's a little too early for them to release now anyways.

I heard it was February 30th

Well something's definitely going to be announced on the 20th. If it's not the PS4, it may be some sort of Vita redesign or something Vita related. Or it could be neither and something nobody expects, like Playstation Move 2.0. Now with two glowing balls, so it looks like a glowing dildo.

Far as I am concerned PS3 still has a few years left in her before we really "Need" a PS4 So if Sony announces it they will be cutting their stride too soon

I see what you did thar.

Honestly, I think there's a lot of gossip on this right now, but no one knows for sure if the PS4's really coming out or not.  There were a lot of valid points mentioned in another discussion on the matter, including the fact that PS3's haven't yet been pushed to the max.  The bluray discs can hold a massive amount of space, and the games aren't hurting for more at this time.  Also, it's been said that Sony likes to make announcements far in advance, so chances are they won't announce the PS4 now and release it this holiday season; it'd likely be mid next year.

Why do you want it debunked?

Because no one wants a PS4 so soon.  It just means we'll have to go out and buy it to play KH3, lol.

Ah. I didn't think about that, thanks.

i dont wanna move on :c

i think it will be an announcement on their announcement of the ps4 release date on E3. makes sense, considering the hype machine for E3 usually starts rolling hard around this time of year.
