So Roxas is Sora's Nobody. Ok, in KH2, that made sense I totally bought it! What I don't understand how Roxas and Sora can exist at the same time. I mean, they share a body right? ok whatever just let that go but then it is revealed that Roxas took on the form of Ventus. Sooo what is the deal with Roxas? Also, in KH2, Roxas and sora looked very similar. But again Roxas is a carbon copy of Ventus. So this begs the question, why do Ventus and Sora look identical?

Roxas got his looks from Ven's heart being in Sora, I think and for your last question, Ven and Sora don't look identical o_O

They look similar, though I wouldn't call them identical as said in the op. 

Sora has Ven's heart inside him so when Roxas was made Ven's heart stayed in Roxas giving him Ven's appearance.. When Sora was a heartless, Kairi, being a POH,purified him and gave him back his physical human form essentially making him a walking heart up until he reunited with his physical body( Roxas ) in KH2.

Because when Sora turned into a Heartless, Ven's heart stayed in his fading body. So when his body became his Nobody (Roxas), Roxas ended up unknowingly housing Ventus' heart. That explains the Roxas and Ventus thing. Now to your next question:)

That's not neccessarily true. Keep in mind that the first look at BBS was the secret ending of KH2. So Nomura at least had though of ven and his backstory at that point.

 

On topic though, I think the whole Roxas and Sora existing at the same time thing is just another one of those exceptions to the rules. Ansem the wise just kind of dismissed it by saying it was a testament to the love in Sora's heart or some hogwash of that sort, but I don't think we're supposed to think about it too hard.

Why has this never crossed my mind before.

Soras appearance in the face is kin to Ven because Sora melded their hearts when he was a newborn/unborn. Sora got Vens face, by extension Vanitas got Soras face, and by extension of those plus Vens heart residing in Roxas' body, Roxas looks like Ven.

I think everyone covered it.

Roxas and Sora do look alike as stated by all the Org XIII, Riku, Naminé and DiZ (and they do look like each other, the only thing that is different is the hair), but I think the real question is that if Sora could only bear the keyblade cause Ven's heart was inside him so why he can still use the keyblade when Ven's heart goes to Roxas body?

Because he DOESN"T wield bc of Ven . Even Nomura said Ven gives Sora nothing but the ability to dual wield..He also said Sora was always destined to wield which is why he ends up wielding his own keyblade and dual wields with Ven's.

That's what i always hated about Roxas's fate. He was the only nobody who could've survived alongside his main counterpart, and yet because of the Org. messing up Sora's memories, he was forced to dissapate into Sora. Oh the irony, the Organization caused the death of one of its most powerful members, what idiots.
