Well the title pretty much says it all people it has been confirmed by Hiro Mashima on his twitter account that on March 30th after fairy tails 175th episode the anime shall end.

 

So people what are your thoughts on this happy sad WTF 

 

I got to admit im really not happy about this myself as the anime is going to end in a rather stupid way way to much cliff hangers and people who dont read the manga are going to being going crazy with all the questions they'll be left with but the thing im saddest about is all the fights we wont get to see happen in the anime now that are now happening in the current chapters of the manga so many epic anime moments that never even had there chance T_T they could of been nice enough to at least finish out the Grand Magic Games Arc

I just heard about this a few days ago. I've been a fan for a few months now, I dont want the anime to end now and as of now we're on episode 171. Well most likely I'll just continue on with the manga Q_Q

the title for episode 175 was the face of the girl i saw that time and when i look back over Manga titles that was the manga just after the end of the tag battles when Jellal comes face to face with the hooded person so we should atleast get the entire Natsu and Gajeel vs Sting and Rogue fight

ratings for the show are fine it was even voted anime of the year in 2011 and since then from what ive heard the ratings have only gone up the only thing i can think of that would make them cancel it is because the anime is catching up to the Manga way to quick so the show being cancelled could also be Miro Trolling so he can get the manga ahead of the anime a bit (If only i could be right about this)

I have my own resolution that if a anime goes over 100+ episodes I won't bother with it.  I good story has a beginning, climax, and ending.  I don't care for stories that go on forever.  But it makes since that they are stopping.  They can only follow the manga for so long.

Aaw man... Fairy Tail's one of my favorite anime. I'll be sad to see it go.

This seems to be like when bleach (anime) was cancelled we couldn't understand it but seeing how it was getting close to the manga and it's on it's final arc in the manga most people seem to be thinking they cancelled it because they didn't want have to do over a year of filler and that bleach will come back to anime after the final manga arc ends

Well if it's catching up to the manga to fast, couldn't they just do more fillers? or at least put the show on hiatus and have it return when the manga gets far ahead.

Being a dub watcher, and only being on episode 65, it is upsetting, but with a close on the series it may be more likely to get more Official Dubs for more of the series..... hopefully..... I'd so buy the boxset if they released like all 175 episodes!

When you're 30 chapters behind the manga, its expected. They should have just stopped at

 

 

the cliffhanger before going 7 years later in the next episode.

...thats really dissapointng... i'm only up to episode 90 subbed and was really looking forward to the grand magic games or what not. At first I was impressed by the amount of canon there was and the little amount of fillers compared to naruto, but I really hope they only temporarily canceled it to let manga get further ahead

Well I don't really care because I dropped FT anime when that filler arc begun. And I never liked anime too much, animation looked somewhat sluggish and everything lacked detail and I didn't really like voice acting. I like FT manga though.

Yu Yu Hakusho has 112 episodes with no filler and a solid ending...would you bother with it?

well allot of people are saying the anime isnt really ending its more like a hiatus so that manga can get ahead of the anime again and since Hiro mashinma also said he had good news in the tweet he said that the anime was ending in it most likely is referring to good news about fairy tail itself and thats where allot of people are getting the idea that this will just be a hiatus well atleast thats what all the fans are hoping until Hiro announces what his good news is

Please no, anything but fillers.. Fillers ruin animes, they ruin everything. I can't understand why they couldn't put it on hiatus for while and then continue (this applies to all longer mainstream animes) and during break there could be some other anime running (for example shorter series or something)

Yeah, I hate fillers as well (Naurto and Bleach fillers...dear god) But I guess it does help in letting the manga get ahead, but a hiatus is much better. I wish every long anime went on a hiatus

Not Yu Yu Hakusho since that show never interested me, but similar length anime would have to really be down my alley and be well done for me to try it.

I think a second Anime series will begin that continues off from where the Grand Magic Games left off in the Anime.

It is pretty damn good man. For me when I started learning about anime I didn't like anything really other than Death Note and Code Geass due to the lack of dubs for some or bad/sketchy animation with over dramatised reactions and catch phrases, but Fairy Tail seems to have risen above those things, and whilst not being as serious natured as Death Note or as clever as Code Geass it is a really fun show to watch and keep up with. Episode 74 here now
