So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

Tsuna narrowed her eyebrows. "You're wrong! That's not all he said." she started to say. "I remember him saying before he died: I guess my protection ends here, my sweet." It was hard for her even to remember that painful sight and the words he said. She felt enraged now and the flames slowly started to come back. "Admit it, you are a fake!"

(Well, he said that, Lira also said that, but there was something he said after that no one heard. I guess I should've been more clear...)

(Maybe you should tell us his real last words, Sikota. That way, Tsuna can say them and we can all be shocked by their profoundness or something like that.)

Rasiel didn't speak, nor move. She sat there on her knees, her eyes fixed on the spot where Joshua was laying.

"No....it will just lead to more death...we will all die...we will..." she said quietly, grabbing onto Xander's arm, clutching onto it.

"Are you going to get killed to?" she asked.

The only option now was to drag Rasiel to the elevator by force or she'd just stay there and let herself rot away.

"I want to see Karu....Karu...if we go get Karu, he'll help us...Karu is dead..." she said, almost insanely as more tears ran down her face.

(Alright, guys; you've lost me.  Does Lira successfully fool everyone, or did she miss something still?  In other, more blunt words: does Ren pull the trigger or does he think she's got it down right?)

(Lira got my last words right as far as you're concerned, unless Gumi edits or reposts the fact that I said something she didn't hear, Lira is safe.)

 

and if you did pull the trigger, it wouldn't do a thing is Lira also had atleast a fraction of Sikota's speed

Bewildered, Ren lowered his gun.  This man, whoever he was, seemed to know everything Sikota had.  It was still possibly a trap, but there was a slim chance this really was Sikota.  And, if it were, that meant Ren had his first true friend back.  He shrugged, shooting a glance at the others.  "Sikota, or, whoever you are, please understand and let us talk this over for a moment," said Ren.  "As much as I want to believe you, you've got to see why we must question it.  This island's insane, and at every possible moment it's trying to kill us.  We can't be too careful, surely you understand."

 

With that the redhead turned, moving back towards the shed in quick strides.  He then glanced over his shoulder at his two companions and said, "Tsuna, Neisan, let's talk this through privately for a moment."

Fulmen after some time finally stood up. Everything hurt to him. His legs burned, his legs felt like lead, and his head pounded in such a way that all of his thoughts were jumbled and clouded. Still, he turned to his left, looking at the only available exit-- the gate to the east.

"Let's...let's do this...Xi." He murmured, slowly making his way to the gate. "I just want to see everyone again. I hope..I hope nothing bad will happen to anyone." He said aloud, finally walking up to the gate. He took a long look at the field behind him, and then quickly left.

Ember pushed Isaac off her. She stood and dusted herself off. "Thanks." She called out to Xi, though it was doubtful she was still paying attention to her. She looked around the area near her. It was small, with one open door. No real distinguishing features. She shrugged, and began towards the open door. The feeling from it was eerie. Really quite creepy. She conjured a bowstaff, and prepared for the worst. Ember looked through the door to find...

As Rasiel grabbed onto his arm, talking to him, his face was almost expressionless

 

He just looked into her eyes until she finished.

 

He looked up at Robert, "Can you wait a little bit, Robert??"

 

After that he simply sat down next her with his legs crossed without saying a word

 

"I told you.. I won't let you die.. how can I do that if I'm dead myself..??" He said quielty after awhile, staring at the ground

 

"....You know.. Karu.. said he'd tell me about you.." He turned to look at her, "..will you tell me about yourself instead, Rasiel??" He sounded compassionate as he said this
