So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

"The name's Tsuna." she said pulling her hand away. This guy must be lovesick or something, she thought and sighed. "As i was saying, we should be moving on out of here now, before any other tanks comes to attack us." Tsuna said to the others. If this is only the beginning, who knows what else Xi might throw at us, she thought. The thought of that made a small chill go down her spine

"Allow me to keep us all safe." Sikota declared. "I am quite capable, as you two would know from first hand experience." He said to Tsuna and Kilek. "I must prove myself worthy of your forgiveness."

"I agree with Tsuna," said Ren firmly.  His eyes skimmed their surroundings apprehensively, searching for any door--or perhaps a secret portal--or object that would offer them escape.  Once he'd seen all there was to behold and nothing captured his interests, he let out a low sigh.

 

"Xi says that we're experiments, and that there's no way of here," he started, "but who's to say that a few super-powered humans with a couple of brilliant minds can't figure out one?"  Ren truly hoped the others would bite on his idea of escape the wretched island; otherwise they'd all surely be dead within 24 hours.

[Just like basketball..... ok, nothing like basketball, but here goes nothing]

 

He outstreched his arms, reaching out to mentally feel the rocket, it was moving fast, but he managed to get a small hold of it

He began pushing it slightly off course.

"Actually." Sikota started. "I might be able to take one other person with me." He unbuttoned his cloak, as it fell, a pair of dark, slightly charred wing furled out. "But I may need anywhere between a day or two or a week or two for that."

Kilek was looking at the explosion. He dropped to his knees, what happened? One second he's trying to get out the tank, next he's witnessing what was sure to be his final resting place.

 

He finally noticed that Sikota was back, obvioulsy the one who saved the three of them. Kilek was going to say something when he realized him mouth was full of metal from the tank. He spat out several pieces of metal along with loose shark teeth. "You saved us...." he said to Sikota, "thanks, I guess. I owe you one" he then turned to Tsuna and Ren, "And whose bright idea was it to flip the tank with me in it?"

The rocket veered off from its course and collided with a tree a ways into the jungle, exploding loudly and toppling the tree. The remaining drone sputtered a bit more before slowing and stopping close to the house, and seemingly deactivating. The house in the jungle was now surrounded by silence, only the creaks of broken boards caused sounds now.

"I pulled you out in time, didn't I?" Sikota replied, curling up his wings and once again donning his cloak. He glanced toward Tsuna when he winced with lingering pain from the burns. "Or was that before I showed up?"

An abashed expression flittered briefly over Ren's face before fading.  "It was me," he murmured softly to Kilek, "and I apologize.  I hadn't been thinking in terms of flipping you around with it.  I do hope we're on fair terms."  He then turned to face Sikota, a flicker of hope and curiosity dancing in his eyes.  "So, you're saying you could fly one of us out of here?  Could you really make it?  I think--and I may be wrong about this--but I think we're surrounded by water for miles..."

Sikota chuckled. "If I can sustain these burns from my sweet Tsuna, single-handily incapacitate Kilek, and instigate a malfunction in two tanks in less than a minute, I can carry someone."

Robert picked up the machine gun of the first drone to fall, and shot the second drone with the remaining ammo, utterly destroying it.

 

"You can't be too careful." He said.

 

He then saw that the house that everyone else was under was only seconds from collapse.

 

"Everybody run!" he shouted. "The house is about to cave!" 

Hope sparked for the first time in Ren since arriving on the accursed island.  The prospect of leaving was something he thought was surely beyond reason.  Before Ren could carry out his request and act on selfish whims, however, he glanced over at Tsuna and Kilek.  "And yet," he uttered in a low tone, "there is no possible way us all to leave."  He folded his arms over his chest, exposing a tear in the shoulder of his overcoat from the results of the tank explosion.  "I may not be one that enjoys meddling, nor do I take pride in my acquaintances, but I'm also not heartless--we surely cannot split up now.  Perhaps there's another way that we can all make it out of here together."

 

Ren seriously couldn't believe himself for saying that.  Since when has he actually given up something for others?

(((Now that the first test has ended, before anything further, here's an update on locations and plot summary for those who missed any major string of posts:

 

After being contacted by a mysterious figure via the earpeices in everyone's ears (the figure identifying himself/herself as "Xi") the various groups all over the islands were attacked by a variety of means. Xi called these attacks the "first test". Those on the beach were attacked by an Apache helicopter, but Yumi dispatched it with a huge wave due to her power. Afterward she began to head into the jungle to the sounds of the battle that the others were engaged in. On the airstrip 3 Panzer IV tanks appeared, and were taken on by Kilek, Neisan, and with the support of Ren, Tsuna, and Sikota. Neisan opened up one of the tanks to discover it had no-one operating it, but instead was filled with modern technology. Neisan dispatched this tank while Kilek charged the second tank, tearing into it using his shark-jaw ability.  Ren moved the tank, but due to a variety of variables it ended up flipping over onto  Kilek, who then chewed his way out while the tank attempted to fire once more. Tsuna, Ren, and Kilek were then saved from the tank explosion by Sikota. The final tank retreated into the jungle again for unknown reasons. In the decaying house in the woods Xander, Robert, Karu, Fulmen, and Locke fought off two infantry drones mounted with machine guns. Karu was able to get his sister, Rasiel, to the location and she assisted in dispatching one of the drones, while the other was shocked into decommission by Fulmen while Xander used his telekinesis to reroute a last-resort missile attack. Now the attacks have seemingly ended, and everyone on the island must decide in their individual groups what comes next. It may not be long, though, until Xi contacts them again...

[i did it] Xander was feeling a little pleased with himself.

He even had a slight grin on his face

The grin quickly shifted to a serious look when he heard the warning from Robert.

 

Brething heavily, Xander darted out of the house

 

"Come on!!" He shouted to fulmen

"Hmm. Then i guess we'll just have to go by foot until we figure out something." Tsuna said. Plus im somewhat afraid of heights so there was no way i was flying out, she thought to herself. Tsuna  unstiffened herself by stretched her arms and fingers and said "Well no point on standing here now is there? We should probably get off this airstrip" 

Phew... it´s done.... I said as my machine gun vanished away...

then the structure began to colapse.... 

Someone shouted to us that we need to get out of there... so naturally I answered:

- Alright then...

Short and simple. 

I must admit... the attack of him using a boulder was too clever.... Well we defeated them... but if that was the "opening" I didn´t want to imagine what will come next.... 

then I looked at everyone... then I asked....

- Now what? We move on or we wait for him to talk again? ... 

"Do you have any suggestions which way we should head?" Ren asked the others.  "We probably should think about sourcing out fresh water, maybe even food."  Ren had relatively no clue how to survive out in the wilderness...except for that which he'd read about in books.  He certainly hoped the others knew how to hunt--and how to cook--since he certainly could do neither of those things on his own.

 

Out of everything, however, he was most intrigued by these people that had powers.  For almost all of his life he'd been called a freak because he had a gift with wind; now he was surrounded by people with magical talent such as his.

 

"So, um, Tsuna...Kilek, Sikota.  Where did you learn to acquire your extraordinary abilities?"

The voice buzzed in for the third time that day.

 

"Good job." There was little emotion in the voice, as if it had been expecting to say the words. "You've passed the initial combat test. The first section of the experiment is complete. Do not worry, there is much more to come."

 

Silence.

 

"I am a fair god, as I have said, and thus you are to be rewarded for this success. You have been awarded time to fully acquaint yourself with your surrounding and those around you. Furthermore..."

 

The two infantry drones suddenly emitted a single "click" sound. Both had compartments opened, in which two engines, jeep engines, sat within.

 

On the beach part of the sand began to distort and swirl as a doorway underground opened up.

 

Finally a sharp click came from the powered-down Panzer IV on the outskirts of the airstrip. The sound was that of a key dropping onto the floor of the hatch. The key to one of the bunkers that flanked the airstrip.

 

"Your path out of your current location has been supplied. You are free to explore and roam, but only through going forward shall you discover more about yourself and those around you. Take due time now to rest, though. When you proceed, there is often no going back. There is much yet to happen."

"Well nobody never asked me that before..i guess i was just born with it." Tsuna said and she heard Xi's voice again. Take some time to rest....there is much yet to happen was echoed in her mind before he disappeared again. She didnt even bother to try and question Xi. After everything that happene, she thought, i am feeling a bit worn out. She heard a faint click and look around. "Did any of you hear that?" she asked the others

Kilek walked over to the tank and picked up the key, " Wonder what this goes to?" he turned around and looked at the various bunkers in the area, mostly likely one of those, he thought. "We should check those bunkers for supplies first" Kilek suggested, "Lets see if we can't find the door to this key"

Xander heard the noise comming from one of the drones

 

He cautiously approched it

 

"Oh my god!!" He exclaimed as he saw the open compartment revealing an engine

 

"I am so driving"

 

He used his telekinesis to slowely carry (drag) the engine to one of the jeeps

 

"Ummm, anyone here a mechanic??"

The sound of the fallen key immediately caught Ren's attention.  He begrudgingly tore himself from the conversation he'd started with Tsuna--another soul gifted with power since birth--and strode over to observe what Kilek had found.  He held out his hand for the key.  Running a thumb over the smooth metal, he furrowed his brow and scrutinized it carefully.  "It's brass..." he murmured faintly.  "I think one of the bunkers near us had a brass lock on it.  If you'll follow me, I'll show you."

After Ember used most of her energy to shield the small group from the bullets by turning them to air while Yumi destroyed the copter with a wave and bubble, she sat onto sand, tired. It was only a short amount of time before Xi spoke again. He had rewarded them. What a nice guy. With that, the sand moved to reveal a door. Ember looked around. Rasiel had vanished during the fight, Yumi had left to investigate some loud noises elsewhere on the island, and one boy still slept. 'Might as well go in then.' she thought to herself. Ember got up and walked down to the door, and opened it....

Hazimie saw everyone ran away and he still standing in front of the Tanks that are firing him but Hazimie still remain calm and began to mute the sound of the bullets that firing him and he feel nothing."Hmph.....i see,he was behind all of this...."Hazimie said as he begins to create a music :

 

 

Hazimie use that music and at once,all the Tanks was exploded by hearing it's music."Now then.....it is time that i made up my mind......i'm not an ally of anyone.....i'm not an enemy of anyone......but i'll meet Xi instead.....and end this...."Hazimie said as he begins to leave the area and enter the jungle...
