So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

Ember was lifted into the air. She struggled, but to no avail. Her back was bleeding slightly. Lupus turned quickly and gauged the situation. She adapted the strength of a gorilla, and tackled Isaac to the ground. Ember fell to the ground and rolled. She stood and looked to Isaac, who was pinned to the ground by Lupus, who had adapted the weight of an elephant. Frustrated, Ember sighed, and summoned a spear. She walked to Isaac, and proceeded to stab the scientist in the face. "Been a while since we've worked together like this." Ember said to Lupus, twisting the spear. "Certainly." Lupus replied, standing up.

"Heartless? Now that's just mean." Sylar teased, looking down at the chaos. He spotted Isaac and Joshua, and Kijiya, and the fights surrounding both. "Now if you don't mind, I need to intervene." Sylar spoke to the shadowy figure, before disappearing into the shadows. Sylar reappeared at the bottom, next to Joshua. "I thought we had a deal boy. You die, I protect your friends. But you broke the promise, so that means more meat for me." Sylar said, slapping Joshua to the ground using his extra strength. He lifted his hand, and blades of shadow appeared over the young body. He slammed his hand down, penetrating the body multiple times. Sylar smiled, and turned to Xander and Rasiel. "You two have two options. I can kill both of you," Sylar spoke cockily. He pointed at Rasiel. "Or, Xander, you can give me some personal time with your girl. I won't hurt her, promise. Just some time alone." Sylar said creepily, intent obviously malicious in nature. But Sylar kept his promises as long as the other party held up their side of the deal.

"I guess my clone will have to wait..." Rasiel said through telepathy to Xander, immediately hiding straight behind him again at the sight of Sylar.

Again, he attacked Joshua. Rasiel barely able to bear the sight of the attack.

"Do what you want with me Xander. Obviously you should hand me over or we're dead." she said again through telepathy to him.

Nervousness chipped at Rasiel, Sylar worked for Xi in her eyes, making Sylar a major enemy.

As Kijiya arrived at the tower,he roared with anguish.(ISAAC!!)Kijiya thought as he continue to roar again as his surrounding begins to crumble due to it's roar.Then,Kijiya began to absorb the weapons around the tower,and his left arm became a giant multiple cannons that he tries to aim everyone and began launching."ROOOAAARRRGGGHHH!!"Kijiya roared as he began prepare to use his cannon from his mouth while attacking using his giant multiple cannons...

Kijiya and Isaac seemed occupied, but Humm noticed that Sylar had joined the fray. "Remember me?" He shot a blast of wind at his old enemy.

 

With distractions aside and chaos below, the shadowy figure had renewed vigor in freeing himself. He pulled. Hard. He felt three of his chains snap. "I'm coming." He said. He pulled some more.

 

"Rampaging Demon?" Simon clarified. "No problem." He went to engage Kijiya.

"It's nice to meet you, Fulmen, Yumi."  He shook both of their hands in turn before turning his gaze back to the demonic creature.  "Yes, we need to do something, though I'm a bit stumped on what that something may be."  His wind, as helpful as it had been thus far, had its limits.  He could propel objects at the demon, or whip him in a massive cyclone, though these things seemed practically useless against that monstrosity.  Ren let out a sigh; he'd never felt so helpless.  "Well, my ability is wind, and at this point there isn't a whole lot that'll benefit us here.  What are your guys' abilities?  Anything a nice breeze could help with?"

"I use water,ice,water vapor. The state or place water can get in I can get it." She gave a cheeky smile.

"I guess water isn't very helpful here. Later on I might be more helpful,Fully here can do something cool. Show him Fully~" She said cutely.

She looked around. "Wow,....um hey,is that Joshua,over there?" She asked Fulmen.

{Rasiel, there's no way I can..} Xander's tele message to Rasiel was interrupted by Humm's attack. He spun around, grabbed Rasiel and jumped back a little to avoid any of it

 

{Thank God you came Humm!!.. I almost had to make a very hard choice..} He sent to Humm gratefully {But now it looks like we're going to have to fight him for sure}

 

He put Rasiel down and looked at her "Are you ok?? Sorry about that.." He said to her and then turned back to Sylar

 

"It looks like a third option just made itself available!!" He said to him

Isaac turned to Lupus, shocked at the strength and weight of the girl, but overall unfazed even as he coughed out a bit of blood. He looked up to her with a sly and sarcastic grin. "Well then, I suppose Ember's friend's more of a she-man!" He remarked, turning black again with carbon fiber and barely lifting the extremely heavy girl enough so that Isaac could slither out.Joshua, after a few moments, turned up to Xander, slowly moving and still with a zombified and pale face. He gave a soft smile. "I can't really help it, Xander....I'm...sorry. I don't want to die again...but I don't want to live, either...." He uttered rather quietly. He was easily knocked to the ground by Sylar, as his smile turned to a frown. He showed a bit more emotion and memory, at last, but he was still under Isaac's control. "No...Sylar...the deal was for...you to get my powers,...remember? You still have them...." He mumbled, standing up with wobbly legs and frail arms that drooped down. "Sorry again...Xander." Joshua muttered. A blade of shadow arose and stabbed itself to Xander's shoulder.After crawling away from Lupus' deathly pin, Isaac turned up and cleaned off dust from his lab coat. He looked at Rasiel after hearing her conversation. "SO, Rasiel, was it? I see you're not exactly the sun-shiniest person here, clearly why. Would you like me to TRULY revive this: 'Karu'?" Isaac asked. He'd keep his word, only if she wished it. Another person to experiment on, even if it isn't AS fun as dissecting. 

Neisan charged into the clearing, his mega laser at the ready. Then he noticed more people hade come, and Kijiya seemed distracted by one in particular, who was being stabbed in the face. "I better conserve my power." Neisan thought. He diverted power from his mega laser to his weapons again.

"Rgh!!" Xander stumbled back a bit when the blade stabbed his shoulder. He had grabbed it with his telekin so he was able to keep it from stabbing to deep. He grunted as he pulled it out, blood flowing from the wound. He looked at Rasiel with a pained expression

 

"Don't listen to him, Rasiel!! He'll end up just like Joshua. Look at him.. is that what you want to do with Karu??.. Make him a zombie puppet for Isaac to experiment with??!!" He said to her critically

 

Then he turned back to Joshua

 

{Joshua, I know you can't control your powers right now, but.. can you tell how to kill you?? I am trully sorry this happened.. but I have no other choice, friend....And, just what kind of deal did you make with that monster??} He sent to Joshua through tele

 

He placed a hand over his would and tried to keep any more blood from escaping it with telekinesis

 

[Getting better at this.. maybe I should go into the medical field] He thought chuckling to himself

Isaac now turned to Xander. "Now now, boy, don't get ahead of yourself— you've got it all wrong. Joshua is certainly more of a zombie now, but his persona will develop again and he will be the same person. I control him because my blood is flowing through his veins, but if I were to remove my blood from him, he'd be in full control. With Karu, I need not use my blood within him. Karu would be as zombified as Joshua is now...but would eventually revert back into the same person you once knew." Isaac smirked. This was all speculation. After all, Joshua was the first cross-human chimera for Isaac, the others were human and animalistic beasts. Joshua was two humans though. Or one and a half, apparently.

Joshua stared ahead, to Xander mainly but also looked dazed and in his own world. He talked through Xander's telepathy. (Xander...it doesn't take anything special to kill me. Just outsmart...or defeat Isaac to get to me...and then...if there's anything that can blind someone's sense of sight...like a flash bomb...then the shadows can't form for almost a minute. Use that...if you can....) Joshua sent. His mind was barely starting up the gears to function properly, so he talked verbally now. "When I trapped myself with Sylar...we made a deal. That...if he killed me and took my powers...he wouldn't harm you, Rasiel, or anyone...now he's betraying me."

"Hmph!!" He replied to Isaac "Nice thought!! You think you're God.. that you can bring people back from the dead just like that?? It's not that simple.. I don't believe you. You only make incomplete beings.. they'll never truly be alive."

 

"And you" He turned to Sylar "You're gonna go back on your word?? Josuhua trusted you.. If you cared about your honor.. you'd help us destroy Isaac, wouldn't you??"

 

He then used his free hand to grab Rasiel's {Don't take his offer.. Joshua and Karu.. they're dead. What he's done to Joshua.. isn't right!!} He sent to her saddly but seriously

'Bring Karu...back...' Rasiel thought, staring at Isaac, Joshua, then Xander.

Without warning, Rasiel snatched her hand away from Xander, her eyes fixing on Joshua.

"How do you know that Isaac isn't right? Look at Joshua...he is alive...and we saw him die in front of our eyes. When we are born Xander...do we immediately respond to the world? The answer to that is no. Joshua might have been rather zombified earlier, but now he is getting back to normal...Joshua will be back to normal...and so will Karu!" Rasiel said, turning to Xander.

"Xander. You have no right to boss me around...to tell me what to do. I can make my own decisions...can't I?!" she snapped, tears starting to flow down her face. 

"Isaac! I accept your offer! There better be no complications or I'll kill you!" she yelled.

'Expect...I'm already going to kill you...Isaac...' she thought, a small dark smile on her face. 

 

(REBELLION!)

"I..oh." Fulmen mumbled, blushing a bit as he presented his hand. It flickered with sparks of electricity, the amount and size of the flashes increasing as he willed more power to be used.

"My power resides with electricity and lightning." Fulmen explained, letting the power die out. "But come now...we have one who uses Water, " Fulmen smiled to Yumi, "I use lightning...and you, Ren, wield the winds. I'm pretty sure we can pull something together here."

Ren's expression clearly displayed surprise at Fulmen's magical talent.  He nodded in approval before bringing a gloved hand to his chin. "Very nice, and I would agree with you, Fulmen.  While perhaps none of us can successfully inflict damage on our own, that isn't to say we couldn't benefit from using one another's strengths."  The demon stood only several yards away, growing all the more powerful as it further destroyed the field and everything in his path.  It needed to be stopped, but how?

 

That was when a thought hit him.  Dawning lit his clear-blue eyes as he snapped his gaze back on Fulmen and Yumi.  "Alright, I think I might have a plan, though it'll take all three of us to succeed.  I will use my wind to bring us to the top of the radio tower"--he gestured to the tower carelessly--"where we will then pummel Kijiya with our assaults.  Yumi could flood it with as much water as she can muster while I keep it preoccupied in a cyclone.  That is where you'll come in, Fulmen.  Once it's good and saturated, electrocute it with everything you've got!"  A wide smile flashed across his face.  "What do you say, guys?  I know it may not take him out, but it'll at least slow him down so that the others might be able to."

 

Ren knew there were likely one--or more--enemies on the field, though from the swarm of people and battles everywhere, he couldn't decide which party required their aid--or who was even on the same side.

[Dang it, Rasiel!!] Xander was distraught at her reaction

 

{I know can't boss you around.. but I can't let you do this. I promised to protect you from yourself. Do you really think Isaac wants to help you?? He doesn't care about you!! Or Joshua!! Or Karu!! Or anybody!! Just himself. All he can do is harm} He sent through tele

 

He gave Rasiel a sorrowful look, and then turned to Isaac

 

"Why do you torment her?? Leave he her alone.." He said to Isaac with a grievous tone "Please, she's suffered enough without you.." Xander was downcast, and his wounds weren't helping

 

[sorry, Karu.. it looks like this may be the end of the line for me.. but I won't give up!!]

Something clicked in Sikota's mind. A memory that wasn't his but... it found its way to him. He glanced back toward Isaac. "Neisan, take care of Kijiya." He dashed towards Isaac. Interrupting any discussion he may be having he grabbed the mad scientist by his throat and lifted him into the air. "It seems you and I have some unfinished business." His voice seemed different. It wasn't his but it ought to sound familiar to Isaac. There was a sick flicker in Sikota's eyes.

'I'll get Karu back...If I don't, then I'll kill Isaac, then I'll turn that blade to myself.' she thought a bit darkly, her eyes focusing on the ground now.

{Rasiel..!!} She cut him off before he could finish[she cut me off..] He thought, more distraught than ever [No matter, my promise still stands!!] He thought with a determined look, tears forming in his eyes [i'll do what it takes to protect her.. even if she's the one who ends me]He looked at her [Rental time, huh??.. guess I never quite saw it that way..] He thought right as Sikota arrived[Another bird guy.. I don't even care.. but, he sounds just like..]
