So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

Xi burst out laughing at Sylar's move. "I don't even need to lift a finger and your Phoenix can't touch me? It looks like Sylar was more useful than I'd figured." He took a step away from the plane and towards the rest of the group. The laughing went away as quickly as it had come.

 

"You all have done very well to get this far. You have used your skills, your intellect, and of course, your gifts; your powers. No human being should have been able to survive what you all have. You've been through things that people only get through in comic books and movies. You should be proud of yourselves. You've proven the experiment a success."

 

It was obvious that whatever gift Xi had, it wasn't going to help him defend against the super-powered group before him. He glanced around, wondering who would be next to try and kill him.

Rasiel gave a sharp glare at Xi's laugh.

"You disgust me." She snapped.

"Making Karu do that, then making us have to go through all of this." She sighed, crossing her arms.

"This place is rather dark isn't it?" Sikota observed. He raised his arms and some invisible force caused him to struggle as they slowly rose. The tension broke and his arms shot up and a circle of fire surrounded them. He then threw his arms to the side in a spinning flurry of flames and feathers, he was wielding a pair of chakrams, the eight blades reminiscent of razor sharp feather. He threw one flaming chakram at Sylar.

Neisan's head snapped around, coming to rest on the figure of Xi standing not ten meters away. Neisan's eyes narrowed inside his helm. He walked over until his was facing Xi, five yards away. "For all your planning skills and cognitive ability, it seems you've made a poor choice, coming out here defenseless with a bunch of overpowered mutants. An error of judgement. Isn't that right. . . Thomas?" With that, an energized blade flicked out of Neisan's wrist.

Locke reached the end of the airstrip, that´s when the face behind the plot showed... Xi....no... Thomas...as the story was told by the tapes and records over the experiment... the most reliable option was Thomas becoming Xi.... but what was he doing? standing there alone, waiting for an ultimate end? Something was wrong with it... the man who put all those challenge... just standing up right there like if nothing happened? 

Locke pulled out his paper and pen, ready for anything.. but just before that....

"Xi...no Thomas... just... why? " He asked... 

Xi looked at Neisan like he was... bored, or... even disappointed.

 

"You truly believe I would go through all this trouble, all this planning, and make such a monumental error in judgement?"

 

Xi reached into his pocked and pulled out a small transmitter. On it was a single button. It didn't even take a second for him to push it.

 

"I don't make errors in judgement."

 

The energized blade flickered to nothing on Neisan's wrist. In a moment he was thrown out of his suit, which promptly erupted into a controlled explosion, destroying it beyond repair.

 

"You honestly didn't see it, did you?" Xi smiled. "What that button just did was a result of decades of biological understanding, and maybe a weeks worth of mechanical engineering. Project Ascension, the program you are now certainly familiar with, discovered the location of the area in the brain from which these powers are developed.  That button has sent out an interference wave of the exact frequency needed to cancel out the neuron processes that activate all of your powers."

 

Xi let them consider the science of it before he put it in layman's terms.

 

"I've just temporarily suspended all of your powers."

 

He looked toward Neisan, who was now without any mechanical suit whatsoever.

 

"You were the one outlier. The one who's abilities derived more from your creations than your inherent capacities. I find it funny how easily you took the bait. Did you think I didn't change some of the processes of your suit? Did you think I didn't put a kill switch in there? I couldn't simply turn off your makeshift suit, so I made you voluntarily get rid of it in place of one I had control over. I didn't expect you to fall for it so fast."

 

Xi dropped the transmitter, and crushed it with his foot. He then pulled out a pistol.

 

"It's funny, my power was only a trigger of increased cognitive ability. I have no lightning powers, no demon form, no telekinesis. And yet... here I am, in the presence of those who should be stronger than me. And here I have made you nothing more than boringly human, and now I hold the power of life and death. Perhaps my power was more potent than any of yours in the big picture."

 

Locke asked his question; why? It wasn't like Xi was not going to explain anyway, but it was nice to have an introduction. He walked forward a bit, pondering...

"I'll say.....what about i finish you first?"Kijiya said as he appeared behind Xi with his speed and attack him with his infused sword on his right arm,hoping to give him an effect to attack.Meanwhile,Hazimie then use his Music powers on Sylar since he was helping Phoenix Sikota."I never thought that i have to battle with you again.....Melodia's Barrage!"Hazimie said as he cast a shot with music symbols on Sylar...

Fulmen halted his advance. Xi had somehow done it-- with his cognitive ability, had deactivated their powers.

No more lightning. No more plants, or fire, or water, or anything else. Fulmen was human. Ordinary. Boring. That fact was like a slap to the face, a wake-up call that really made him even more angry.

Xi obviously wanted revenge. Or did he? Xi was obviously a trickster, and always tried to bend all rules and logic, so no one knew what went on in his mind.

 

Fulmen sighed, and carefully bent down a picked up a rock. It was brown, boring-looking, and perhaps only three inches or so long. It weighed a few grams, and Fulmen tossed it up into the air a few times.

Shock rushed through Rasiel's mind, the sight of a pistol layed her mind on her dead brother.

Reaching into her pocket, Rasiel grabbed one of the rather small techno-spheres.

"You're just a dirty little murderer...aren't you Xi? Or should I even call you that any more?" she snapped, her grip tighting around the weapon. She couldn't turn into her demon, or rabbit form. Her last hope set on three metal balls and a pocket knife.

"So...who would you shoot first? The one who wants to die in order to be with her brother...the one who just wants to go back home...the two who want to stay together, yet go home...the one who wants the turth...and so on..." Rasiel snapped, soon Kijiya attacked Xi.

After Kijiya's attack, Rasiel literally about pitched the ball at C

Xi's head...The metal ball hit....right on the side of his head. Rasiel smirked, grabbing onto her knife.

"Plants aren't the only the thing that make me strong!" As Xi was hit in the head with the techno sphere Simon rushed around and locked his gun behind his back and threw him to the ground. He held his arm in place leaning on top of him. "What now?" He taunted.

Lupus and Ember were glaring at Xi, listening, but in battle ready position. Ember had conjured up a sword, and when Thomas clicked the button, it stayed in her hand. She gave a wry grin to Lupus, whose claws had vanished into thin air. As soon as Rasiel and Simon had begun an assault Ember rushed forward. She pushed Xi to the ground and pinned him there, sword to his throat. "I am no ordinary human. I have trained for years in judo, karate, aikido, kung fu, and a lot of other crap I can't pronounce. I trained myself in so many different forms of weaponry. Now you will tell me why we are here, and how we get back." Ember threatened. She was sick and tired of the islamd, and the mysterious Xi.

Sylar raised his hand, and telekinetically stopped the chakram in it's tracks. "My my, that was impressive." Sylar said, the chakram absorbed by the darkness around them. "Well, it's the final battle between the Sacred Flame and the Cursed Darkness. Who will win? Firebird, or I?" Sylar continued, walking slowly towards Sikota. A blade of darkness shot from the wall towards Sikota, which Sylar used as a distraction. He covered his hand in carbon fiber, punching Sikota hard, directly in the stomach.

(Abs of flame! Just kidding, I'm off to bed now)

Yumi just laughed. "Your just insane all of you. I just want to go home...to work...just fruk'n let us home. Please,I'm at my snapping point. Just return us home." She said.

(We just moved very quickly. So, sorry to say, but I'm going to retcon a few of your posts a tiny bit. As a note, Airstrips are lengthy things, you aren't going to sprint up to Xi without him noticing.)

 

Xi turned the moment he saw the ball headed towards him. He spun his head, but the ball still grazed his head painfully.

 

"Ouch" He didn't sound like he was in pain.

 

Xi brought the pistol up and fired a single shot through Rasiel's knee. "The next will be through your heart."

 

Kijiya, Ember, Simon. It was as if they thought they were still empowered.

 

"Ah ah ah" Xi had more than enough time to move the pistol towards the oncoming attackers. A bullet grazed Simon's ear, the upper fringe being torn off.

 

"He was the warning. The next will be one of you on the ground."

 

So eager to beat the bad guy. This wasn't a superman comic.

 

"Besides. You are so eager to hurt me you won't even hear me out. I brought you a plane didn't I?"

(Guys,let's just say that my last post was never exist....I MEAN it...anyways,if Hazimie also can't use the powers,i will LITERALLY edited,for sure...)

 

As Hazimie saw that Phoeniz Sikota was being sent to the dark realms by Sylar,Hazimie have no choice but to go to the battle where Xi is.As he arrived,he met Kijiya again,stood down after he was being powerless."You okay?"Hazimie said as he use Cure Melodia on him since not only he was powerless,but he received pain from it."Damn it,i just got the power to withstand against him...but it ended in failure..."Kijiya said as he depressed."It's not your fault.....even though you have become human,that doesn't mean all hope is lost...."Hazimie said as Kijiya then take out a special seed that the fake Sikota give him before being sealed."I think there is hope...."Kijiya said as he then planning something...

Xi sighed.

 

Storytime.

 

"So... you all are undoubtedly wondering. What is the Experiment? Why did I do it? The audio logs you've heard. From Project Ascension. The project that wanted to use me, that wanted to use all of you as tools! That project is dead now, just like every god-damned person who worked on it. You know who I am. What happened to me. What I did? My name is Thomas Yaerick, and I burned those bastards to the ground."

 

His eyes never left the participants. He was ever-vigilant. But some part of him became spirited, even a bit emotional.

 

"Do you know what I found? All of you. On their lists, on their files. Stalking you, finding out about you. Do you know what instructions were given in regards to all of you in their files? Obtain for project or terminate. Do you see what your future was? Tools of... of them! They didn't care who they used and who they killed."

 

Xi took a moment to pause and take note of everyone before him. He wanted them to know he was still in control, that even now, he was still seeing everything, knowing everything.

 

"I killed them, but they will be back. People who want control over us always return in some form. Like they were in World War II, like they were just a few months ago. So I found you all. I located each and every one of you. I was alone against them, but with more people I could be powerful. Of course I couldn't just assume you were all truly powerful, like I am. I had to be sure that you were Fated Ones. Think of all you've been through. All you've done. The things you faced, the choices you've made. No human could come out of that alive. Not everyone did. But you. You that are here. You proved that you are more than human. You're like me. Maybe you think I was cruel, but look at you now, capable, passionate, skillful. Nobody will rule you. Nobody will rule us. A few of you died, sure, but in their hands you all would have died, and they wouldn't have cared. I tested you, but look what you now are. Look what I've shown you."

 

Xi's voice was slow... calculating, but there was power behind the words that hadn't been there before.

 

"You are all super-human. You were in an experiment I designed. Anything less than what you are; super-beings destined for greatness, would not have made it here. Maybe you think I'm a monster. Take a second; you will realize I am right. Your parents, your friends, your governments; they are below you. You are tools to them, you are freaks, monsters to them. What you really are are the destined few. The people fate wants to rule. Why else would you have these powers? Now you're beginning to see. The "normals" have ruled for so long and look what they've brought. War, poverty, instability. They are imperfect beings thinking they are perfect enough to fill our role. We are fate's chosen ones. I've just shown you what you can do, who you truly are."

 

Xi breathed in slowly, and then back out.

 

"You've succeeded in proving my experiment. Now you can join me. Now we can truly be what fate wants us to be. Perhaps you will be childish and think I am some sort of monster. Perhaps you will not see the logic in my point. You are free to think that."

 

Xi brought the pistol up, waving it slowly at his audience.

 

"That would leave us at.... an impasse, however."

As Hazimie listen to Xi's story,he then approach to him."You know,Thomas....you remind me of myself.....at first,i born with wierdness,since i obtain a special power.And yet,all the normal people ruled the special person like me.And if i step one closer like planning to kill them,i might exactly become like you.....but i didn't.I know there are other things beside obtain this power...."Hazimie said as he said about himself."Now i know what i have to do......to protect all the humans.....that is my role since i obtain this power....the power that i got from my heart that is wished to protect that things that matters to me...."Hazimie said as then walking in front of him."Maybe,just maybe......some day,i will get rid of the revenge that you bear inside of you for so long.....even if i already dead,there will be someone.....will stop and comfort your hatred..."Hazimie said as he really step closer on Xi,face to face...

"So that is your goal!? To rule over the normal people!?" Locke said altered by the words of Xi, no Thomas. " I feel... I feel Pity for you. Making us go through all of this, just for feel yourself like a savior? Don´t make me laugh!!" Locke´s hands were shaking, his eyes were reflecting wat he felt inside him. "Your experiment was... You could have left us live our normal life!! What about Joshua! what about Karu, what about Robert!! you took us to do exactly what the people of the Project Ascension would have done with us, just for this!!? You are NOT better than them!!"

"D-Don't worry about it.. Thanks.." He said to Rasiel while staring at Xi who had just made his true appearance

 

[He'd come out just like that????] Xander thought when he saw Xi [He's a dead man now..]

Then Xi pressed the button, Xander felt a tingle in his head

 

"What the..????" He said to himself while putting a hand on his head

 

After Xi explained it Xander was in shock, and a little disbelief

 

{Rasiel..} He tried to send.. but it was no good. He couldn't send it. Whatever Xi did, it had truly rendered him powerless.

 

He tried not to panic as he turned to Rasiel, who had started talking to Xi.

 

"Rasiel, don't..!!" He tried to say before she threw the ball. But she was too fast, even without her powers, Rasiel had a pretty good throw

"What are you thinking??!!" He whispered to her after the ball was sent flying

 

He looked back up at Xi just in time to see him raise the gun
He threw up both arms, trying his hardest to use his powers.. but nothing happened, he was useless to stop it. He could only look on in horror and guilt as the bullet went through Rasiel's knee

 

"No!!" He shouted as he grabbed onto Rasiel. He tried to do it gently, so he wouldn't hurt her knee. He turned back to Xi. He wasn't scared, he was angry. He wanted to say something, but he could do nothing. He would only get them killed. So he bit his tongue as his eyes watered a little. He turned back to Rasiel

 

"Rasiel.. " He said quietly

 

[i should have done more.. I should've have taken the bullet!!] He thought angrily to himself

 

"I'm sorry.. "

Sikota's first chakram was blocked, the second dissolved as he was hit in the stomach and sent flying back. He righted himself and landed on his feet sliding backward a ways. "You wouldn't know this as well as I, but chain-breaking is great for the abs." He patted his stomach. His face took on a serious expression as he extended his arm outward. Each finger holding a small flame. Suddenly, five burning tendrils shot out and weaves their way toward Sylar.

"It's okay Xander....it's a bullet. At least I was shot somewhere non-fatal..." Rasiel said rather bluntly.

This was it. She didn't have any power, and now she could even stand.

"What was I thinking? Perhaps I could shut him up...." She said quietly to Xander's yell.

She was silent for a moment, her eyes tracing to Xi.

"By the way Xi....I don't think any of us are joining you..." Rasiel said with a slight wince.

'After all...Karu is here...dead or not....he's still here...' she thought, gripping onto one of Karu's techno-spheres.

Xi's face was unflinching in front of Hazimie.

 

"You're a fool. You think you've been through what I have? You think you're like me? I do not seek revenge, I seek justice. I can give you the opportunity for it as well. You think you'll find strength from your heart? Hearts can be burned out easily, and it is then we learn to use our mind most of all."

 

Xi jerked his head to face Locke.

 

"And you! You think I am just like them? No. I have not dis-empowered you like they would have. I have given you power, don't you see? People die on the way to greatness, that is simple evolution. Look what I offer you! What is so fantastic about your 'normal life' with all the 'normal' people that do nothing but show their imperfections everyday, Hmm?"

 

At Rasiels comment Xi simply replied with a glance. She would be the hardest to turn.

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself as the villain." Fulmen muttered, giving Xi a hard look. "That's what you've become. You've let the Ascension Project influence you. You're just digging up the work you tried so hard to destroy. How are things going to be settled, if you keep bringing it back?" Fulmen asked, giving Xi..no, Thomas, a sterner look.

"Besides...wouldn't we be weapons, then? You'd make us weapons -just like what the project was going to do- in order to strike back. How is that any different?"

Ember swore under her breath. All she had was a sword, and while she could disarm Xi, she couldn't from this far away. So she could only stand there. Lupus walked up next to Ember, much more calm than her sister. Lupus looked to Xi, and began to speak. "You have already proven me right. My theory that us superhumans have extra brain power than the regular person, is officially correct if you're transmitter did in fact do what you say. You are also correct in your assumptions about 'normals'. My sister and I have worked as mercenaries for years, using our power so that we may gain the money to live happily. It is often that our employers treat us less than human, more like an extremely valuable tool than an equal human. We are the Fated Ones, as they have named us. But we do not have to participate in their own game. We can act as a team, make us less likely to lose. All of us together can live in peace and harmony. Heck, we could live on this island. Fly back to the mainland every once in a while and get supplies, at least until we get on our feet here. Living in peace here without threat of battle. You could see it as hiding, or you could see it as a chance for a new life. If they come for us, we'll be prepared. This island is obviously fortified beyond our wildest dreams, and between your super intelligence and Iron Man's technopathy, or whatever form of it, we can rebuild this place, and make it impossible for them to get to us. If you ask me, it is a better plan than going back." Lupus proposed a plan that probably didn't sound so nice in the beginning, but in the long term, it would be best for all of them.

A wall of darkness was thrown up between Sylar and Sikota, the flames stopped in their path. Sylar waved his hand, and the wall shattered into many pieces. He continued to raise his hand, and the shards of darkness were thrown towards Sikota. "Give it up. I have more power than you could possibly imagine. Telekinesis, I can tell if you lie to me, freeze anything solid with a touch, fly, I am stronger and faster than a regular human, conjure darkness with a thought, heal people with a wish, manipulate my own body in so many ways. What have you Firebird? One wing and some fire." Sylar taunted, more blades of darkness around him. He cackled evilly.

Neisan was forcibly ejected from his suit. Then it exploded. Neisan got up, a numb feeling in his brain. Xi had shut his genius down. He got up and walked over to Xi. "So you would have us rule. As what? Tyrants? Dictators? Or as shepherds, heroes? You want the world to tremble at your feet. The way to lead is to stoop to the level of those you lead."
