Always appreciate who and what you have in life.

So, my boyfriend is a police officer. He just graduated the police academy last friday. Today, a huge part of his bravery and courage was shown. At 6:00 when he was supposed to be done his shift (he starts at 5 am), but he got called to a fire. The fire was in a neighborhood called Carolina Forest in South Carolina. My boyfriend and his FTO (field training officer) were the first ones at the scene. They evacuated everyone from the neighborhood, then his FTO rescued someone from the burning building. My boyfriend was running through the fire, helping. Afterwards, they were both sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation. They got breathing treatments and chest X-rays. They are both in good condition. My boyfriend is home now.

Im very proud of his bravery and courage. I worry about him everyday, but it really hit home today how he might not have made it through that. I have to worry everyday whether he's going to come home. This really made me realize even more and makes me appreciate even more than I do who and what I have in life. He was supposed to get off shift at 6 and me and him were going to meet up with friends for dinner. Then he got called to the fire. Anything could happen. A normal day can turn up into an unexpected day. Im really happy he's alright and Im very proud of him.

That's nice. I'm glad he's okay.

I always think like that, mainly after losing my great grandfather.. you really have to appreciate and spend time with those you love... maybe tomorrow you won't have them with you anymore.

Dang. That's pretty scary :( But definitely very brave of him. Glad to hear he's alright.

None of us know what each day may bring and just how long our lives may or may not be so we should always appreciate everything important to us .Glad to hear he's ok . xD

It's so true. Learn to appreciate what you have while you have it. Casy taught me that. That much of her is true

Glad he made I home.

And yeah. We need to appreciate the people in our lives a lot more sometimes.

That's quite true.  Many of us go through each day without giving a second thought that something unexpected could arise.  It's unlikely, but we never do know what the future holds for us.  This has definitely given me something to think about.

On a side note, I'm glad to hear that your boyfriend's okay. :)  I'm sure you must've been terrified!

Your post is very true and and has a nice sentiment in it. You have learned a very good lesson through this scary event in your life. I am pleased to hear that your boyfriend was okay. Just remember to cherish every day of life you are given ,and live like there's no tomorrow.  ^_^

Wow, that was indeed a very startling thing! :O  But the important thing is that your boyfriend is alive, thanks to God, and that he's safe and sound.  And yeah, things like this can really make us think about life and the people we have close to us.  I always thank God for my family and for my dearly beloved girlfriend Inori, and I'm happy I can spend every day of my life with them.  And what you said couldn't be more true.  The best thing to do is to spend time with those you love, because you never know when will be the last time you spend time with them. I'm glad to know that your boyfriend is all right, and I hope you and him are happy together. ^_^

Glad he's okay. Takes a lot of courage to do these kinds of jobs(joining the army, etc), and for that I thank him for trying to help others.

I hope I always remember to take very good care of my friends and family. You can't live in fear that bad things will happon to them, cuz...it might just be over before you know it.....and, you could forget to enjoy the time, possably little, for all you know, you have with them :<

Just cuz the future has risks. Doesn't mean live in fear and ungreatfulness. But defenetly embrace closeness fully in all levels you can :)

I'm glad I read this :)(btw, yes, i'm an aspie..)

Thank god that he was alright. Anything can happen. Really goes to show that all of us must take good care of ourselves and be careful wherever we go. We must be prepared for anything.
