I compared the voices from Kingdom Hearts 1(Original Japanese release, not final mix) to KH 1.5 and ive confirmed that they are exactly the same, and no re recording has been done, here are videos to compare:

So since they didn't bother to record anything new for this game, save for the 358/2 days movie, who's to say that they'll record new voices for the international release of KHFM and Re:Chain.

 

Im pretty sure Sqaure is keeping the old voices when the release it to US, and im glad about that.

i agree, i liked Sora's old voice in KH 1.

Damn it! ... woman voice in 1, and teen voice in Re:COM... it's inconsistent!!! D:

Square Enix North America confirmed shortly after the English version's announcement that they were not recording any dialogue for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix or Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. They're enhancing the quality though.

 

Also the cutscenes added in the Final Mix reissue have not had any voice acting recorded either.

Ok, so the scenes with no dialogue in FM stay with no dialogue. Oh well. ^_^

Soooo.... old recordings of Billy Zane instead of re-recording Richard Epcar? I approve. But I wouldn't blame them if they did want to re-record. I'm still so attached to Xehanort's Heartless's old voice, though... but I would have supported their need for consistency. I'm indifferent at this point, but slightly happier that they're keeping the old recordings. My bias is showing. ~

So is it only because of the days cutscenes the international release date is fall 2013? They wouldn't be working on HD quality since its already done and the game is out in Japan.

My guess is that Sora's voice will be maintained from the original KH for 1.5, while some FM scenes with Riku would be either voiced or silent with subtitles. I also think Ansem & some FF stars would do some re-recording for 1.5.

I did that with Roxas/Ventus (both have the same voice actor Kouki Uchiyama) and if you listen to Ventus in BbS and Roxas in the new Days cutscenes....

Ventus sounds more like a teenager and Roxas sounds more like an adult

in KH2 Roxas' voice was still a kid and now it's a adult voice.....

so even the Japanese voices have changed a lot

I have mixed feelings about that. I really liked Sora's voice in the first Kingdom Hearts, I personally think its the best. But it really is inconsistent, as much as I like his KH1 voice I think if it was up to me I would change it so it would flow better!

Yeah, Riku's english voice doesn't sound much different now, compared to Sora's.
