Hello people. Remember how they showed us amazing HD screenshots of KH HD prior to its release? Of course you do. Now there is on image in particular we all got excited about. This one:

Now what so amazing about this image was that they had taken a scene where they originally used a flat-faced - or fish-faced if you prefer - model of Riku and replaced it with a high quality model of him. In comparison look at the original KH1:

Now that you've looked at both those images, take a look at how it turned out in the final version of KH HD 1.5 ReMIX:

Why yes, he does have better texture in the remastered version but, the didn't change his 3D model with the other.

I can't even see the video.

Don't open it here. Press the title and let it send you to Youtube.

It's called Photoshop dude.

lol Just reminded the summoning scene is in the KH3D opening. Was Sora and the others summoning something?

They were summoning the all-mighty and powerful Pluto to woop Master Xehanort's ass.

Pluto doesn't even need power,  Xehanort will die because Pluto

That's so weird.  And the close up after that shot looks more like a newer model than the old one.  I don't get it.

looks good to me

I'm so confused, can someone explain to me what the problem here is?

Briefly, the first image is basically a teaser of the HD they were going to give us, and the second was the original KH1. In the actual video of the ReMIX, the HD wasnt nearly as good as it was said to be (the first image).

It's been proven they were summoning simba

It's slightly lesser quality than the image given.

forgetting about the infamous Youtube Quality? video never looks as good as actual gameplay on a TV

Thought you might be interested to know the higher quality Riku face is used as a background image in KH3D's chronicle of KH's story.

That means nothing in this discussion. You can easily see that they used a different 3D model for Riku in the actual KH HD than what is being is used in the first screenshot I posted. The one in the first cutscene is higher quality model of Riku with a more animated face, with separate eyes and mouth. The one used in the actual game is a flat-faced 3D model of Riku with face, eyes and mouth all mashed together as one image. If someone can't see it, and says its because of the Youtube quality, then they're just in denial.

Yeah remember seeing that. That was one of the things which led me to believe that they might be working on a HD collection.

What does Photoshop have anything to do with it?

Damn dude you're right! :/That really annoys me that they did that. I mean, it's not the end of the world, but wow...

They probably Photoshopped the picture to make it look better.

Why would they Photoshop it when they easily can replace the model, take a picture of it and revert it back?

I mean Photoshop the image of how it looks in-game.

Who? Square Enix? Why would they use Photoshop to do that when - as I just said - they could easily replace the model, take a picture of it and revert it back to the flat-faced Riku 3D model.

Well jeez, I don't know, they've done that before in games such as LR: FFXIII. If you compare the screenshots to in-game, the screenshots look better. And it's not like Lightning has a high-res model that they don't use in-game.

I still doubt they're using Photoshop to do it.

Compare these two images: http://www.khwiki.net/images/e/ec/The_Last_Bastion_of_Free_Will_02_KHBBS.png, http://www.khwiki.net/images/archive/e/ec/20120528213102!The_Last_Bastion_of_Free_Will_02_KHBBS.png

The first one is a screenshot released by Famitsu, the second is an in-game screenshot. The difference is that for the actual game they turned down the polygons for some reason. I don't know much about but, what I'm talking about is different from this.

Okay, then maybe SE is anti-aliasing the picture instead of using Photoshop.

But for the Riku image, Photoshop could be the reason the photo looks brighter and clearer than in-game.
