My speculation on the matter is that it will be a continuation of the storylines of both persona 3 and 4

Yea agreed idk if you played P4A but it leaves off on a huge cliffhanger but i also am intrigued by the Shadow Operatives

I know that the first two to mitsurus right are Yukari and Junpei but other than those obvious two i have no idea its like the True Organization XIII speculation

Yeah but don't forget there is also Fuuka, she made a cameo appearance of Persona 4 Arena, also Lizbeth was looking for a way to permanently destroy Erebus, so that she can free the Persona 3 main character (AKA Minato Arisato) from the seal keeping Nyx away, and Yu and the investigation team were headed to Port Island at the end of Persona 4 Arena so my theory could prove to be true for Persona 5, I hope it does , it would be so awesome

If persona 5 is going to be a sequel to P4A, I'll be very disappointed...

The thing about Megami Tensei and Persona is that direct sequels are only made in spin-offs. And since Persona has become a series of it self, It should proceed on this way too. The 1st Persona Animation Series is enough of a sequel... Even being a terrible sequel...

 Fuuka was rockin a long braid lol, but yea i hope that in Persona 5 their is a whole new cast of main characters but with strong ties to this storyline and that they free Minato from the seal somehow, but they would probably have to find a way to permanently destroy Erebus first seeing as Nyx needs it to bring about the Fall

see but it seems that's the only path P5 can really take when you think about it the whole (if not most) p3 cast and p4 cast comes with liz to save minato i don't really see what they can do at this point if anything the story could be over the time of the rest of golden week to some time in march when the school year ends maybe it'll be a fight vs erubus to finally kill it maybe we might see nyx again and that's it unless  

they try to create another spin off but main game featuring that and p5 has a whole brand new cast

How about this time we fight Igor as the ultimate boss. Does the Female protagonist from Portable count in the main story?

Only time will tell

I have a feeling it will be connected to the cast of P4 and/or P3. I just hope it's announced soon.

It's not like i have a problem but maybe try something other than high school kids as protagonists. I won't freak if they do, but it wouldn't hurt to try something different 

Apparently Atlus is working hard on it so I'm sure it'll be great. I kinda hope they bring fusion spells back.

My guess is that it will be on ps3 but year after ps4 came out.

I hope the story is connected to Persona 3 and Persona 4. If I remember right at the end of Persona 4 Arena the Investigation Team was going to go to Tatsumi Port Island, and Minato still is the Great Seal.

I think P4A will have it's own sequel and P5 will be different 

Honestly, I think it'll have connections through the Persona universe, but nothing more than little references like the ones in P3 and P4.

I really do hope this. I rather take P5 as completely new Persona game with new characters and social links rather than it being some game that follows Elizabeth or some other character after P4A. Okay I would like to see how story continues from P4A, but it shouldn't be P5. 

And I really do want that they would put even more depth into social links in future.
