  • That's because Mako is a scumbag and Korra is a bit of a bitch.    I'm not going to lie, I had a similar situation happen in my circle of friends. Which is why I didn't hesitate to take away Korra's

So, I finally got to watch the last season (pretty much blew through it in two nights). On the ending:

There is nothing to disagree on the ending is canon. It wasn't left open to interpretation regardless of how it was written. The only reason this argument has gone on this long is because people are pushing their opinions as facts because it clashes with their beliefs.

It was left open until the creators decided to close it by giving a straight answer. :/ I mean, I'm not denying that its canon necessarily, I just want to interpret the ending in my own way based on my own thoughts due to the ending giving me the option to do that.

It wasn't really left open, that is how the creators show that the two love each other without breaking the kids network barriers. Most people were confused on whether or not they were in love. The creators just confirmed it. There's nothing to interpret.

That's what you think. Not me. :/

Let me just clarify that I know that the creators word is law, but I still am allowed to believe what I want. Okay? Okay.

There is a clear distinction that you're not making here the creators knew what direction they were headed. Things might have seemed open ended to the fans but it was really just build up to the creator's endgame. There is a huge difference between leaving things up to interpretation and confirming the direction that they were headed all along. You can have your opinion but that doesn't change the fact of the matter which is what Shana is trying to address.

I know what the creators had in mind, they said it themselves. But if you take away the creator's confirmation, and just rely on the context of the show, its perfectly reasonable for me to assume against what they had in mind for the sake of believing my own thoughts. Them outright stating that it's canon tips the scale towards the opposite way that I feel, and I don't think that's right. :/

(you can't really deny that the relationship was built up, just go back and rewatch the show, you'll see)

I'm so happy korrasami was confirmed, I've been hoping they would get together since book 2

I love how Korra handled the situation with Kuvira, explaining how similar they really were

Overall I was really impressed with the finale, and I'm sad to see it come to an end

The relationship was built-up but it wasn't clear. Even Bryan said that if you looked at it through an "hetero-lens" you wouldn't see it. I'm straight, I saw it through an "hetero-lens". It's not a reflex for me to watch a show through a "bisexual-lens" and it shouldn't be. They should've made it really clear if they wanted to do that. It was ambiguous and open to interpretation and in my opinion, since they couldn't build the relationship clearly, they should've left it open to interpretation.

There was nothing left to wrap up and it ended fine. I don't see how you wanted more. Maybe that's on you.

What happened to Baatar Jr?  Did he break it off with Kuvira?  Did he pull a "surprise "i'm alive" thing?  I would have loved to see that.  Is his family still weary around him?  I know he patched things up with his mother, but what about Opal?  His brothers?  I would have liked more closure on that.

They weren't very very very vague. A big one being how she only wrote to Assami.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but to me that didn't seem to be anything like a romantic relationship.  I felt that Korra felt more comfortable discussing her problems with another woman.  Mako and Bolin probably wouldn't understand her pouring out her emotions.

What bugs me about the whole Korrassami thing is not the same sex relationship - in fact it's refreshing to see it embraced instead the hate - it's that women can't even hold hands with out somebody going "OMG they're lesbians!"  There are plenty of girls who are friends that hold hands and even put their arms around each other.  It feels as if friendship is nothing to these people.

Considering that she tried to kill him, I think the answer is obvious. :/

Also, I'm sure they patched it up. I mean, Opal and his brothers are forgiving people... at least I think they are. It's hard to tell given their lack of personality. xD

The basic principle of any form of expression is that you can't please everyone. However the moment everyone starts compromising their thoughts to satisfy others beliefs is the moment everyone begins to lose out. I am baffled that people everywhere who raved about how great the series was are now dismissing because they don't agree with same sex couples. It was the writer's decision to make whatever outcome they wanted whether we disagree or not.

That's true, and I'm not saying that either. All I'm saying is I would have preferred the subtlety.

Okay well I'll take that as some form of progression lol.

nah but you should be open to relationships other than heterosexual ones. It's not about having a "bisexual lens" lol, just be accepting of other sexualities and try not to normalize heterosexuality, since representation in the media is important for people who don't fit into that category among many reasons. I think you've got your quote wrong by the way...

" I love how their relationship arc took its time, through kindness and caring. If it seems out of the blue to you, I think a second viewing of the last two seasons would show that perhaps you were looking at it only through a hetero lens. " --Bryan Konietzko

Hey, I agree that they should have just remained friends :/ You know what who cares! In my mind they're still friends. I didn't think that Korra had to end up in a relationship anyway. Ugh why creators why D:

I'm definitely with you on this little cousin ;) I also think that they're just friends regardless of what even the creators say.Let us disassociate ourselves from this great debate. :)Peace!

It's not that I'm not open to other relationships...I just didn't think of it that way. All the signs could easily be read as close friendship unless you were already a Korrasami fan so...to me it just popped out of nowhere. But honestly, I don't really care about Korrasami...I just think that the finale, as a series finale and maybe franchise finale, was underwhelming and lacked closure. I still loved the show though! KORRA RULES!

idk why people are against lesbians!! do u jave any idea how many boobs a lesbian relationship has?!?, 4. thats 4 boobies up for grabs (literally). the more the merrier. boobs are the best.

(please dont kill me this was completely a joke though boobs are pretty great.)

Same thoughts here. I expected a sigh of hope that Korra would reconnect to the last avatars at least, but it was meh. All I found it was "battle over, peace, friends forever, kthxbai." Disappointed for the ending, but overall a great story.

Indeed :D

But I'd just like to add that we are all entitled to our own opinions. There are various factors which have contributed to these opinions/beliefs, so let's not rip each others throats out ok :D That is all.

I agree with you both. It just never felt like a real thing to me, but if you like it, by all means ship it.

While I was satisfied with the ending, I'll give one nitpick to the Book overall:

More Toph.

Actually, the thing I enjoyed most in the whole series of Korra was the story of Avatar Wan, aka the first Avatar to ever exist who was technically a Firebender. :)

Peace!
