North Korea warns military cleared to wage nuclear attack against US

Posted
"An unnamed spokesman for the North Korean army is warning the U.S. that its military has been cleared to wage an attack using "smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear" weapons in the latest of the country's escalating warnings. North Korea has railed for weeks against joint U.S. and South Korean military exercises taking place in South Korea and has expressed anger over tightened sanctions for a February nuclear test. The spokesman said in a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency that troops have been authorized to counter U.S. aggression with "powerful practical military counteractions." The Pentagon said Wednesday it was deploying a missile defense shield to Guam to protect the U.S. and its allies in the region in response to the increasingly hostile rhetoric."

Wow, the increasing level of threats kind of scares me.

The adventures of "KIM JONG UN"

North Korea *sigh*

Can they just launch a nuclear missile at the U.S. and get it over with.

One Trident missile fired by sub has 6 MIRVs waaay more devastating then Hiroshima. Since a sub carries around about sixteen, I say game on.

NK can't do shit what thout being wiped off the map.

N Korea is talking a big game, but everything I've read says they don't have the technological capacity to attack the US mainland.

Can they just launch a nuclear missile at the U.S. and get it over with.

dude your nuts o.o

Where is the nuclear deterrance when you need it?

This will eventually blow up into war.

I don't think this really means anything. North Korea doesn't have many missiles or nuclear weapons (especially in comparison to the US and its allies) and they're not going to waste them. They know launching an attack at the US would just be shot down over the Pacific, and accomplish nothing. A strike against South Korea is more likely, and while they're making some pretty serious threats and they're actually moving weapons, I don't think they're going to do it.

In general, what dictators want is to stay in power. Kim Jong Un knows that if he were to actually launch an attack, his entire country would be wiped off the face of the earth, and he along with all of his friends, advisors, etc. would be killed and nobody would remember them years later. They can make all the threats they want, and people can mock the North Koreans, but they really are not stupid. They are equally intelligent human beings with a plan and a motive, though it will likely result in nothing more than politicians screaming at each other about how to deal with NK. They're not "stupid" like everybody is saying. I don't know exactly what they want, but they ARE smart enough to not actually launch an attack without a well thought-out plan for defense.

Kim knows that the U.S doesn't want to have a war, so he's sending those threat messages to impress his own people.
