Im guessing that its because they're busy with other things and the fact that they're trying to make the game as good as the fanboys claim FF VII was. That way, they can Remake VII, and make alot of money from the fanboys, and those of us who liked VIIi.

It could have a lot of work put into it which might be what takes a while along with their other projects. It could be announced at any time coughE3cough and could be near completion/complete.

Yeah thats true. They started actually making it in 2011 and its been 2 years, it could be finished by now.

Square just made the mistake of telling us about Vs. too soon, so now to some of us, it feels too much longer to wait for it, than it should have. If they had announced it in 2011, when they actually started making it, then it wouldn't have felt like their really dragging it out. Then again, the fact that its holding back KH3 alone, would probably be enough to make fans think that its taking to long to produce.

Because the people at square sit out in the streets begging for money, even when they have it to finish the dam game.

It is Nomura after all. I can only compare him to Kishimoto, the king of trolls.

To quote Xigbar during KHII FM "There's a reason, one that hasn't been told to anybody." Or something to that effect.

Personally, I think they may be having problems getting the engine to do what they want it to without glitching up like a mofo. This is the first time they've attempted to combine a battle system with the intricacy of the Kingdom Hearts ones together with the more realistic graphical style of Final Fantasy. That's bound to take up a truckload of data. On top of that, they're attempting to do so on a console they have limited experience with. The Lightning Saga gave them more or less the equivalent developmental experience of 1 game because they all run on the same engine (as far as I know) and the second and third ones use elements they already wanted in the first one but couldn't apply for various reasons. That's why they were able to push them out so fast.

All together it's a very ambitious undertaking.

It's also possible, if unlikely, that the recent change in management has had a effect on the length of the game's development. We don't know how long they where planning the transition to make it as smooth as possible before we even heard anything.

I'm just gonna go with "technical difficulties" until we hear different an E3 or whatever event they said they'd talk about Vs. at.

It was reportedly ported to PS4 in 2011 with assistance from Sony.

yeah i heard about this too, quite a while ago, not really such a big deal for me since i'll be getting a ps4 but i feel for the guys who have been waiting since it was announced (7 or 8 years-ish) and don't have enough money to buy one :(

"Hold me back, bro! Hold me back!" - Versus 13

I have a strong feeling that this E3 will be big and we will be finally be able to see FF vs XIII's and hear it's release date. They should be ready by now.

I think thats been the million dollar question for awhile now.

Sigh...Honestly...I'm not even going to try to figure out why there holding versus back

Its been years since they said they were trying to figure out the PS3. I believe they were procrastinating.

Because Square Enix is sadistic.

Actually, I wonder if they're having technical difficulties with Versus XIII.  I don't recall where, but I thought I'd read an article to that affect once.  They've had to upgrade the graphics time and again to be with the top-of-the-line stuff already, and who knows what else they're having to upgrade because of its delayed release.  I seriously don't know why it was delayed to begin with, but I think that's set them back tremendously and they're now having issues with it.  Just my personal guess, at any rate.  I definitely could be wrong.

It'll be on both.

I sure hope so. :)
