Sora and Riku don't have to start at level 1 in kh3

Posted

It's not necessarily a given certainty. Yes, it has been done for every game in the past but the next big title is KH3. Since they'll probably do a lot of work on KH3 they'll work on changing things. They could just start Sora and Riku at level 50 or even higher. This isn't too uncommon of a game to do. A few game series have actually done this before. In fact they might have it so that if you can transfer data from one of the ReMIXs you get to be an even higher level with everyone.

No. Simple solution for Square: Make the enemies stronger

As for Kairi if she does turn out to be a playable character in KH3 then I imagine her training with Yen Sid will get her up from level 1 to a good enough level easily.

I'm not saying it's garunteed that this will happen. I am saying that it's not garunteed they'll start at level 1 and something along these lines is a possibility to keep in mind.

They will start at level 1. I'm betting Nomura will pull something like "Their skills in the Sleeping World didn't carry over to the real world. It was a dream after all."

Well if there is someway you transfer your experience from the HD collections, I can see what your saying. But if not, odds are they will be level 1, if not level 5 or something.

and I kinda want them to start at level 1, wheres the challenge if they are all level 50?

It'd be cool because I wish Sora and co. would actually start at a decent level instead of being the victim of convenient plot-related reasons for why they lost their powers.  Unfortunately, they might actually restart at 1 again because in DDD, Yen Sid said they needed to forget everything they knew, and then all the fighting (and their levels) took place in the dream world.  Plus, if we follow the idea of Kairi being in the tutorial stage to gain some levels, there'd still be a pretty big jump from level 1 to whatever level she reaches to Sora and co.'s level 50.  If she does reach that level or close to it, it'd be a pretty accelerated growth and people will decry OMG OP MARY SUE even more than they did Xion (well, the other half might just go OMG KAIRI'S AWESOME NOW, which I wouldn't mind).  Oh well, wishful thinking.

Its possible that they might start at level one but if not then this would be very useful. if we could somehow even transfer data from a REMIX file as you said before this would make the game even more interesting. for example: The Dragon ball z games for the gameboy advanced sp were great especially the last one (Buu's Fury) where you started off at level 65 or 50. it would be great NOT  to start at level one this time.

That reminds me of .hack G.U..

There you could transfer your levels (and items?) to the next game. However, that will only be possible if you can copy your PS3 data to PS4 (...) or something like that.

That is assuming it will be only PS4. Plus, they could very well have it like you said to where you could move the PS3 data. There is the PS3's PSN or whatever they could use.

that's the reason they started at level one in 3D. Because it was all a dream. Now they should have their kh2 levels back if anything.

Or like, start out powerful, then have something happen about an hour in or so that makes them lose their powers again and go back to lv1. I dunno, I just liked how they did that in GoW 2 and 3.

But they had to forget everything they knew to take the exam, and in order to do that they had to be transported back in time to before they got their Keyblades. That's why they started at level 1 in 3D, not because it was in the dream worlds.

But Sora started at whatever level Roxas was at after the tutorial in KH2 instead of keeping his KH1 level even though he got all his KH1 memories back.

Recalling some old games, the top level could ve 200+ so they can start at some level 50 :/

Com's reason: Cards

KH2's reason: The fact he slept for a whole year and had his memories put back together

3D's: the dream world plot in general really

They forgot their other style of battling and learned the command system. They can just use the command system for KH3 so them forgetting the old style isn't much of a reason.

Maybe KH3 could pull off a God of War 3; in the beginning, Kratos was just tearing everything apart using the abilities he had in the last game, then he was dropped in the River of Styx and lost all of his powers, thus making the player having to start fresh again. Maybe Nomura could show how powerful Xehanort is at this point by having him attack Sora and Riku early in the game as a small boss, only to have Xehanort easily wipe the floor with them.

Or maybe the enemies could be so strong at this point, everyone is level 1 compared to them. I dunno. Just sharing my ideas on this subject.

I like this idea, it would make sense! You could show just how much experience they have gained from their previous adventures! And Kairi training with Yen Sid would make sense as well!

DEAR GOD NO. KHII's system was SO much better for console. I like the battle command for hand-helds with limited controls, but not on an actual controller.

It's pretty much what they've changed the style to. The 3DS is almost on Par with the PS2 controls so if they wanted to have the kh2 system they could have. Since they went with command system I think it's likely the command system will be it or part of it.

I'll be so disappointed if they do... The 3DS (without the circlepad pro thing) is missing the equivalent to an analog stick and the L2 and R2 (or L1 and R1, depending on how you look at it :P) buttons. I don't know how it is with the circlepad, but it worked well with it because they copied the control scheme from the PSP, which has the same amount of buttons and analog stick. There's really no point in making a command deck, because they might have extra buttons (again, I don't know how it is with the Circlepad and what the did with the zL and zR buttons). I also really like the abilities system because instead of a repetitive 3-to-6 combo, without mashing your commands, you can add many Combo Boosts and Abilities, like slapshot, to change it up. For me, it just feels natural to have the same system they've had for KH (sorta) and KHII.

I think I worded that wrong. What I meant was the 3DS is pretty much the equivalent of a PS2. Heck, some PS2 games were put on the 3DS and look great on it. You have abilities with the command system too. With kh3 they could just make it commands but also abilities as they've done in the past. As for extra buttons they could use them to bring things back. They could use one or two of the extra buttons for drive or something similar to it for example.

B-bu-but Command System=No Summons  :(  I like summons.

That kinda relates to that. They could have them on seperate buttons. OR

Better yet, have summon commands. You have magic commands so wynaut why not?

That's actually a really good idea. Like Summon Materia from FFVII.

Yep, that's whatll happen. Sora was sleeping all through DDD, and Riku was trapped in Sora's dreams and didn't get any stronger physically in the real world.

Me too. Then again, they could use D-Links like in BBS. They are pretty much summons. Except, you don't actually summon them.
