Kingdom Hearts 3 should have a decent amount of NPCs

Featured Replies

NPCs are great and all, but am I the only one disturbed by the lack of screen Kairi seems to be getting despite her importance in Kingdom Hearts? Dunno about you, but I'd rather focus on her as a priority before trying to add more livelihood in the levels that take place in towns/populated areas. But that's my opinion.

On topic: it would be nice. KH2 had a decent amount, so as long as they can do that many NPCs in KH3 or more then I'm all for it...

Or maybe even have some in places where there ARE enemies. And like, when enemies spawn, the NPC would go run and hide somewhere, or react otherwise, based on who it is.

But yeah, I agree that we need NPCs back.

BBS actually had a good amount if you kept your eye out for them. The only problem is, they caused a bit of lag if I remember right, which explains to me why there weren't more than there actually was.

A whole crowd of goofy's and merlins, just strolling around casually in everyworld....this is what I hope for in the future

That would be interesting, and I was thinking something similar to the same thing, but I'm not quite sure if that's the sort of "KH thing."  I'm hardly saying it would be bad, in fact it would be rather cool to have some area specific allies.  I would enjoy seeing something like that, though it doesn't quite seem like something you'd normally expect in KH, more of an Assassin Creed style of things (Just a personal perspective of things, not necessarily 'accurate').  I won't deny that it would be rather cool to see though.

I'd say it had a decent amount of NPCs. Radiant Garden only had Merlin which feels pretty wierd seeing as you're in a big town. However BbS isn't nearly as bad as KH3D but, BbS sticks out more when it comes to NPCs because of that one scene with the invisible crowd in Olympus Coliseum where you really notice the lack of NPCs these games have.

I want NPCs to kill em  :D

Halloween Town for example could have a whole heap of NPC's from the movie in the centre of the town.

Yeah I'm sure her role in KH 3 will be extremely important, and she'll finally get the screen time she rightfully deserves. In my opinion, I like how they took her out for a while, because it makes her appearance in KH 3 much more anticipated, and that's probably why he's been saving her.

I'd like to see more comedy. I know we're getting to the climax so I understand the darker tone, but I miss Sora's over exaggerated smile, Donald's physical comedy (I really wish they had kept the scene in the KHII trailer where he accidentally freezes himself) and him breaking the fourth wall by moving the camera to focus on him. To me those moments made the dramatic scenes like Sora's hit all the harder.

But NPCs would be good too.

Exactly !! There are no NPCs in recent games.Like they just put NPCs in numbered games...

Yes that scene with Terra and the crowd in colosseum was just ridicilous..

But 3D had a scene like that too: fools festival or whatever it's called at Notre dame

Yeah I really thought there should have been more in KH3D while playing. It just seemed so empty without any NPC's. Never really played BbS, but what i saw from the countles LP's I watched it was also pretty empty.

I hope in KH3 will be even more NPC's then before

Oh yeah, that scene, but he was surronded by Dream Eaters so it didn't feel all that empty. Way to go game, that one scene where Casimodo visits the other humans only to find out that everybody views him as a hideous monster, yeah, it was a good idea for the game to surround him with a bunch of monsters instead. Great idea Square Enix!

One might say that Casimodo was surrounded by monsters to begin with, as a way of describing the way the humans threated him, but that's not the point here.

I really hope that in KH3 they fill it up like in FF13-2. Not only do I want more NPC in the game I want some of them to give out quests for us to do

Yeah I want some NPC's

NPCs

  • KH1 had a lot.
  • Com did not but for understandable reasons (c.o.)
  • KH2 had a good amount as well.
  • Days didn't have much of any outside of The Castle That Never was
  • BBS had very few from what I remember
  • Re: Coded had a few as well
  • And DDD had none other than the moogles

There have been a lack of NPCs in the more recent titles. One thing that I really hope they fix for KH3 is to have more NPCs. Make the towns feel more lively like they did in KH1. Put a few NPCs around areas enemies won't appear at like with KH2. Make things a bit less empty.

DDD had an UNDERSTANDABLE REASON TOO.

Normally when you dream, you don't tend to dream about meeting and interacting with tons of other people. The disney characters are different, since its a sleeping world.

And re:coded has an understandable reason too, its a journal. THERE ARENT GOING TO BE OTHER PEOPLE BESIDES THE ONES THAT JIMINY WROTE ABOUT.

BBS is the only one with a non legit reason for why there are no NPC's. There should be tons of them, but there aren't.

You make a good point about 3D and Re:Coded. But looking back, I think I actually remember Re:Coded having some npcs. Dang, I need to play it again though...

Well, Destiny Islands had Wakka, Tidus and Selphie, but thats really it.

However, KH3D doesn't really follow the laws of dreams to begin with, and seeing as you interact with people during each world's story I see no reason to not have them still be there after you finish the world.

And re:coded has an understandable reason too, its a journal. THERE ARENT GOING TO BE OTHER PEOPLE BESIDES THE ONES THAT JIMINY WROTE ABOUT.

But, instead the game didn't include certain characters already in the journal and added people we've never seen before. I'm talking about Traverse Town here, where Leon, Yuffie and Aerith wasn't included, and instead a few NPC's where added to the first district. These NPCs are also not the same as the one from KH1.

Or maybe even have some in places where there ARE enemies. And like, when enemies spawn, the NPC would go run and hide somewhere, or react otherwise, based on who it is.

That would be so cool! I hope it would happen

And that ball in the Castle of Dreams in BBS O.o Really, I think balls should have a little bit more quests..

But I also think there should be more NPCs in KH3. And since there has been in KH1 and 2 I trust that there'll be more of them in KH3 too.

I had totally forgotten that scene. That scene was so pathetic. And to make it even more dull, they didn't even add music.

"Oh, look at how wonderful this ball turned out to be! There's a total number of two people dancing and three hags on the sideline bitching in a giagantic hall and with no music. I hereby declare this to be the greatest royal ball of all time!" - Grand Duke
