Waiting for someone to get pissed off. xD

gonna happen but no such thing as a plausable argument in this scenario : D

non haters shouldn't enter so as not to be offended or come to any unwelcome realisations : P

I tend to have more of a problem with the kinds of lessons being taught to girls from the 'role model' that is Bella, rather than the sheer stupidity of sparkly vampires.

i know what you mean in todays society girls are looking up to outrageous "role models"

actors, singers and such who are a part of teens lives have a responsibility to be respectful of that audience and act as such.

I haven't actually read the books/watched the movies, but from what I hear about Bella I'd keep it that way

Yeah. You should probably keep doing that.

A romanticized abusive relationship is a great way to teach children what's moral, after all.

You're comparing a Square RPG to a teen drama sparkly vampire movie.

Believe it or not, the sparkly vampires are at the bottom of my list of complaints with the series.  I don't care enough about vampires to care whether they get pretty in the sunlight or burn up.

Twilight is like the deep-fried Twinkies of the literary world--lots of people love them, but the ones who are health-conscious (i.e. the ones with standards in books) know just how godawful it objectively is.  It's popular because it's delicious, not because it's good.  I can't fault people for their tastes if it doesn't hurt anyone, though given how people think Bella and Edward's relationship is romantic, the "not hurting anyone" part is up for debate.  No, the problem comes from the amount of people who think it's so delicious, they delude themselves into thinking it's good and the standard for health/quality.

Just remember, the more people who read Twilight, the closer they come to heart attacks.
