That could also relate to the leaks. Most of those characters were kind of expected, honestly. The only one who wasn't was Wii Fit Trainer.

I've learned the best way to await Smash Bros news is to not anticipate anything as far as new characters go. Sakurai seems very intend on surprising people this time around. When it was revealed that there was a new Smash Bros game in the works, plenty of fans speculated on different characters joining the fight. Sakurai responded to this by making one of the first new characters revealed the Wii Fit Trainer, a character virtually no one expected. When the first screenshots of the 3DS Spirit Tracks stage were replaced, showing off Toon Link as the conductor, people assumed he wouldn't be a fighter in the upcoming games. A few months later, Toon Link was revealed to be a returning fighter. When it came to new Pokemon fighters, most people assumed Lucario would be replaced. And you know what? He wasn't. You noticing a pattern here. Sure, Shulk may not be in the upcoming SSB games, but there's still a chance. Just try not to assume certain characters will or won't be fighters. It'll be more enjoyable for you that way.

The thing is, every character in the new Smash has already been chosen since the early development stages. Sakurai doesn't put characters in because of popular demand, mind you.

I don't care about the leaks, I'm not getting my hopes up. Every time I do, they get crushed. I've decided to just not specifically "want" any characters.

Most of the people in the list were confirmed, sure some of them were a bit obvious, but i mean, How would they have guessed WFT? Or Chorus Boys, which is all but confirmed, since we saw a pic of an enemy from their games in Smash Run. I think Shulk has a good chance of getting in, especially considering how successful Xenoblade was. :

There is really no need for pessimism

Shulk has a huge chance to appear in Smash Bros if only for the fact he has a second game that's gonna be released next year and that his existence in Smash Bros 4 will give it a big marketing boost like what happened with Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus

Before Brawl Pit was never popular at all yet Sakurai chose to include him in Brawl which in turn gave us Kid Icarus Uprising later

It's just only a matter of time before they confirm Shulk in either a second Smash Bros Direct or a normal episode of Nintendo Direct

There actually is a need for it. It definitely beats getting my hope up every time I see someone mention Shulk being confirmed, when it all just ends up being a lie.

Yes, but Sakurai's bound to choose a lot more popular characters than characters such as Shulk.

Well you don't have to raise your hopes to a very high level, just keep them at a neutral level so that you'll be pleased when it's confirmed and won't be massively disappointed if it wasn't

If it was about popularity we would've never seen Pit in Brawl as the dude was literally non-existent before Sakurai chose to include him in it.

Also,a bit of trivia that you'd love to knowthe reason Roy was included in Smash Bros Melee was to promote an upcoming Fire Emblem in Japan on the GBA back then, the same effect can happen with Shulk as including him in Smash Bros would promote the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles X to people who never played any game in the Xeno series

Only time will tell.

It's best to have no hopes at all, so I won't be disappointed in the slightest when it turns out that he isn't even in the game. And I know the thing about Roy. However, still, Shulk's chances are incredibly low now that there are so many other successful and popular Nintendo franchises they could choose from instead of "wasting" a slot for Shulk.

He chose Greninja and this was before XY released, long before anyone knew what the final Pokemon evolutions for the starters looked like. Xenoblade Chronicles was a huge hit for the Wii, not to mention, Nintendo has a lot of hope riding with Xenoblade Chronicles X. Shulk is specifically a Nintendo character. He has a good chance of making his way in (as in, he has a good chance that he was already chosen for this title).

I don;t know how it's "wasting" when a freakin periphiral for the NES called R.O.B made it to the roster even though almost no one knew about the thing other than a couple of people who owned it for Gyromite and Stack up before it faded to obscurity

Almost all of Nintendo's main franchises have been used except Xenoblade,if someone like R.O.B made it to Brawl I'm sure there is a chance of Shulk to make at least to take R.O.B's place

Today we get yet another bland pic of the day. Here we get another small look at the Pac-Land stage for Wii U

I'll take a small guess we won't be getting anything real nice until a new Direct which could happen within July or August at the earliest.

Most likely

If the pictures reveal nothing new  or interesting for a while that means most likely we're gonna get a second Smash Bros direct or some Smash Bros news in a regular Nintendo direct

Well, this is definitely one stage im probably never going to play on. xD

Probably, here's hoping. I'm just hoping that the next time we get a huge news update on Smash that we find out about more Brawl Veterans who are going to be in the game. :

I'm wondering if they're leaving all the unlockable characters secret so we have something to discover in the game?

Uh, thats a bit obvious no offense. They've done that in the past for previous Smash Games.

Last time they announced them but it said "secret character" over the picture of a shadow

Kinda hoped they would use the arcade Pacman game stage on the Wii U version instead of the 3DS version

But hey unlockables stages are still there so there is hope

....I'm still waiting for Captain Falcon to be announced.

Mhmm, and Meta Knight.

Where is my Meta Knight?

Hopefully this means more alternate costume for other characters not just Wario

Like a Dr Mario outfit for Mario

This is a really cool mix of his Skyloft outfit and Hero outfit. I like it.
