Agreed, i would love to fight you again, as well as Shulk (has a great Ness!) and Metal Snake (he had a reaaaaally good Bowser, gave my Shulk trouble too)

 

It is. TBH, i like Ness, only reason i don't use him is that i honestly feel a bit cheap using him with how spammy PK Fire can be, his OP B-throw and really strong N-air and U-air. I use him sometimes, but only if i'm fighting an annoying top tier character like Sheik or Pikachu (as in a good Pikachu i mean, whose hard to hit otherwise due to height).

 

Also, i can confirm for Shulk, he doesn't go for the cheap kills, and he's got alot of combo variety. I need to fight him again sometime.

I got a lot better at Shulk. Got the hang of MALLC too!

Looks like I'm missing out on everyone, like when dah hell did you guys play online? I'd like to play against Metal Snake since I know he's competitive. 

 

But first I need to get a Gamecube controller. I was able to nab the GC adapter at MSRP at Amazon last week, but forgot about the controller out of haste. I'm letting go of the classic controller as I feel like I can't time tilts for shit with it.

I play with twitch streamers. Most of it's for fun, specifically a timed 3 minute customs battle set. I never thought I'd enjoy customs this much. Outside of that I play local stock defaults a majority of the time.

So... I don't know why someone had to make a separate thread for this, but for anyone who doesn't see that thread and wants to discuss it here: New characters were just leaked. I'll keep it all in a spoiler tag for anyone who somehow hasn't found out yet and wants to keep it a surprise, but considering that everyone's talking about it, it's probably going to be tough to tune it out.

If the videos go down: First is Ryu, second is Roy. The leak from April is 100% confirmed now. Not that many people doubted it in the first place. Can't say I'm too happy about Marth 3.0, but Ryu actually does look like he'll be fun to play as. People are also pointing out that there's a new Street Fighter stage (I can't tell you all what it is since I've only played a little bit of USF4), and I'm also hearing that Kirby's Dreamland 64 is being added. I'd personally prefer Fountain of Dreams, but oh well.

Either way, it's nice to see we're getting them at all.

After Wolf, I feel like we'll be done with returning characters. Snake doesn't seem likely at this point with the Konami/Kojima controversy.

There is a video of Roy in Training Mode up on YouTube right now. Also, I just learned that Roy's Final Smash is Critical Hit, but it acts differently, instead of dealing a one-hit kill and dashing forward, Toy swings his sword up and down, I think. He's pretty much a semi-clone like Falco.

I wouldn't mind seeing Squirtle and Ivysaur return as proper characters

Though I suppose if they follow the route of this release, I guess I wouldn't mind... Young Link...? As a melee rep, and then... maybe another Namco character for a third party?

Haha surprised you haven't done that already lol. I bought my eShop card last week and already have registered the money to my eShop account. I'll be buying Lucas for both versions of Smash bros 4.

 

Also, Ryu looks pretty interesting. I still need to see more gameplay videos of him so i can get a better picture of his moveset to determine wheather I'll main him or not. Also you use Peach too!? Awesome! Peach is one of my mains in Smash bros.

Even though we all know it won't work due to technical limitations, I'd love to see Ice Climbers make a comeback since I'm one of the few who actually cared about them before they were cut. A new character would be nice, too. Maybe Inkling for the next set, since they seem to have a pretty good shot at getting in. They might be new, but the Inklings are already getting Mii costumes and trophies. I feel like a playable Inkling would be a likely choice for a newcomer.

Ryu seems super fun to play as. Roy wasn't needed at all, but he looks a lot better from his Melee design at least.

 

I'm still buying him anyways since Roy's my boy.

No wonder Sheik is very high on the tier list, even if it's not so accurate. I don't even know how to fully utilize her and she kicks ass and it's my first time using her since Brawl. *facepalm* Something about her flow in battle that I like about. Like I can manage her speed better compared to ZSS. I'm not sure if I should main her though... I mean I've failed doing so with new and even old mains such as Lucario and Peach (still trying to work on them for some odd reason), I'm afraid the same will happen with Sheik. 

 

Yeah yeah, tiers are shit, etc, but the fact that it only took a few rounds to do well that to the point I was playing like if Sheik was part of my "mains", it's saying something. There's also how most of the fast paced characters are very good.

 

So the Lucas DLC is tomorrow. I'm buying him probably because my brother used him mostly in Brawl and it feels odd not having him in this entry. However I don't feel the same for Roy and Ryu. Although I'll probably cave in when the time comes, so whatever.

On the topic of Isaac, I hope the ballot won't just be based on popular characters. Otherwise, I can already say that Isaac and King K Rool will win the ballot, and while that's good and all for their fans, it'd be unfair to those of us who voted for less popular characters if they only choose the top 2 or so. I know there's not really a good way to choose characters with less votes, but if they'd also look to find characters who they think would fit the game well, that'd be cool, too. (I also don't really care for K Rool in Smash *Incoming torch and pitchfork wielders coming after me for an unpopular opinion, gasp* which probably contributes to my distaste for the idea of this being a popularity contest).

So nothing much was changed... Why am I acting surprised, I expected much from both. Maybe I'll main Roy if he feels as as fluid as Lucina in movement an attacks.

 

lol at Ryu's FS. I expected TvsC's Haduken, then that happens, then up close happens... At least he looks unique, save it for the pseudo Falcon Punch (unless there was a move like that, haven't play SF in a long time), although I like the tweak at the end. Deadly combo you can pull off if it lands.
