To an extent Yes I did my brother has an Xbox One and he rented the game for about a week before he returned it and bought Halo The Master Chief Collection

Sure he was playing 98% of the time when he rented it but I was there watching him play and we saw all this shit firsthand

Btw the game ain't pushing anything other than NPC numbers on screen other than that the game runs at 30fps that chugs from time to time

Heck Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is 10 times better than Unity in terms of story, gameplay and overall polish and that was  A PS3XBOX 360 GAME Vs a PS4Xbox One game

And no it ain't pushing anything in animation since not only it's around the same you saw in AC games but the fact that they chose to run the game at 30fps trying to be "cinematic" in a series that involves more Gameplay than cutscenes

you're mistaking polish for pushing limits. The excuse given for AC Unity being 30 FPS is that it's cinematic, but the reason is because what's being shown can't support 60 FPS. AC games have some of the most advanced mo-cap in the business, and the in game animations are incredibly complex since all of the body parts react to context. They added more NPCs onscreen, buffed their AI

Now what you personally think of earlier AC games isn't really what's relevant here. Personally I don't think there's been an AC better than Revelations yet (minus the Den Defense and Desmond sections) but the point is that my standards for AC games is that they push the limits of what games currently are, whether it's having more beautifully designed worlds, more realistic environments, more complex or realistic animation. I expect them to push those boundaries like they do in every game, and I accept that being an open world game and having these complex systems is going to lead to glitches sometimes

That's not what I expect from Nintendo games. Nintendo isn't setting out to show me how powerful the Wii U is, to push video games into a new frontier, or to have the most advanced tech behind a game. Their thing is giving incredibly well polished experiences. Games with few glitches, games with excellent presentation, and well executed, but not terribly groundbreaking, ideas. So Smash Bros being light on content and having reports of glitches and issues? That counts against Nintendo a lot, for me. They've failed to do what I buy their games for. Not a spectacular failure, like Yoshi's New Island or something, not enough that I won't buy the game. But enough for me to be disappointed, and consider waiting to see if I can snag it on sale later.

Because when Nintendo fails at polish, there isn't much else to back it up

Lol yeah I read about how the PS4/Xbox One is running AC: Unity at only 30 FPS and that is just really sad imo. You'd think a game on a next gen system would run smother than the previous gen console lol. This just shows how the newer AC games are not as good as the older ones (AC1 through Revelations)

Pushing limits of two newborn consoles that hasn't been out for less than year and 2 months? Unity doesn't push a thing in the Ps4 and Xbox One and certainly pushing nothing on PC

that's not really how it works

it runs at 30 FPS because so much more is running. Basically performance as sacrifice din the name of making it look good and having some more advanced systems. Not something I really approve of, but it's not about the power of the next gen systems

It's not about pushing the limits of the hardware, they're constantly improving mo-cap technology, contextual animation, never mind brilliantly designed worlds. There are more limits to be pushed than simply the power of the system it is being ran on.

Huh, personally I think Smash U looks alright, like I said in my post, but if you think it's the worst fighting game of all time, that's your business. I've certainly seen worse games in my time

Well, you could be right about that. I mean I've played a few games where the frames drop because so much stuff is going on at once. So I guess you are right about that. But still, the PS4/Xbox One should be able to handle that though since it's a next gen console are is more pwerful than the PS3/Xbox360. It just seems odd seeing a next gen hardware perform less than previous gen hardware.

the thing is that they improved things too much and the consoles got left behind. So while the new systems are more powerful, the games are being built to use more resources than the systems can actually handle. Most people theorize this is because making games LOOK better will sell more consoles than saying they have a consistent framerate

Oh, I see.  So with game companies these days (except for Nintendo) it's all about eye candy graphics than putting actual effort into the games?

Oh, I see.  So with game companies these days (except for Nintendo) it's all about eye candy graphics than putting actual effort into the games?

No, graphics take a lot of effort, and good graphics can help good game design. Nintendo isn't exactly innocent here either, considering they chose to make new Pokemon games 3D despite this causing severe lag in some places. Sometimes companies decide other things are more important than performance, and they're not always wrong.

It's just that if you want to sell a game based on trailers, what it LOOKS like is important, because you can't play a trailer. Trailers also focus on cool or fun looking mechanics for the same reason

Also, Smash bros for Wii U sells 490,000 copies in 3 days:

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the fastest-selling WIi U game in the U.S. so far, Nintendo of America said this morning. That position previously belonged to Mario Kart 8.

From November 21st (its launch date) through November 23rd, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has sold over 490,000 copies between retail and digital, Nintendo stated.

That isn’t really a figure to write home about for a major release like Smash, but it should be interesting to see where the game is by the end of is first month.

In 8 player smash, there is so much going on that I can't keep track of my character.

has anyone tried palutena's guidance yet? best easter egg ever! :3

I have. It is so cool! xD

I don't care for them too much since a lot of the jokes go over my head (Haven't played much of Kid Icarus Uprising because I find it unplayable with left-handed controls), but my brother's been doing a lot of them. Shulk's got me. xD

Welp, just saw this. At first i was a bit annoyed seeing this after i just bought mine, but i got over it quick when i realized it was at Best Buy. I only paid like 250 for mine with 3D World + Nintendo Land, deluxe set at Target with discounts, and i can still buy Smash 4 in the next week or so. Plus, i probably wouldn't have played much of Tropical Freeze (i like DK, but i'm not that big of a fan of the games) and i'm probably gonna sell Nintendo Land on Ebay since i don't care much for that either.

Besides, i'm glad that i'm avoiding the Black Friday rush and chilling at home with my Family. It's definitely not worth it to wait out there all night. :

I avoided asking my brother to buy the game for me on Black Friday since stores will be monstrously crowded at that day so I asked him to send it to me mid December if possible

So finally got Smash 4, it's been really fun. I have yet to try out Classic and the other solo mode options, i've been busy playing online with a friend for most of the time. I can't wait to start getting  trophies and such.

Of course you can't wait to get trophies, there's one of you in the game. xD

Also, we'll have to have matches soon. I might join in here, but I'd drop out at some point since I'm busy.

Well, just tried classic last night on 9.0. I got to Master Fortress easy, but...The enemies are OP as heck, seriously. I got to the second weak spot, i got hit twice by lasers and i died in like 5 seconds, literally. It was ridiculous. Of course, i wasn't using Shield Shulk, but still. O_o I'm gonna be more careful next time around.
