  • Please stop.  This is going nowhere.

Would anyone be interested in a community tournament for KH13? I could start one at some point, we just need to find a day that works for everyone

I'd be interested in a Smash tournament

I would gladly join this tournament if you create one. It's been a while since we last had a KH13 Smash bros tournament.

Do you know if Tourney is for both Wii U and 3DS?

I'd check now, but I can't

Couldn't find it anywhere online. Unless I'm not looking hard enough.

Why not just make it like a week long event with points no items?

That would work, too. I'll see if I can get a tournament set up tomorrow. Any rule suggestions?

Time to dust off my controller. Downloaded some of the DLC and boy does it bring memories.

Kirby and Ganondorf got buffed. Couldn't be more glad. Also, I am interested in Luigi, those combos with the down throw are just too sick.]]

Also, they nerfed every characters rolls and spot dodges by 1 frame lol

I'm fine with anything as long items are off. Items bring up a dark side in me.... :0

Boy, I haven't touched this in a couple months. But I'm already remembering why I hate playing online. Almost every opponent I've faced has spent every day of their lives playing for glory.

I stopped because of the lag. 2015 and people still don't firetrucking have decent internet. I'd also say the 30 fps, but it's not as bad when people can't get the memo to stop playing if you don't have a good connection. Sure high pings is a thing, but for firetrucks sakes most of the matches have players in NA.

Alright, I'll keep items off. Anyone have suggestions for stages or stock vs time? I personally prefer stock matches, but if more people want time, that works too. Also, any objections to customs/Miis?

I'd rather have customs off, but dunno about everyone else.

I'd think competitive stages.

  • Battlefield
  • Big Battlefield
  • Town and City
  • Miiverse
  • Final Destination
  • All Omegas
  • Delfino Plaza (?)
  • Dream Land

Also, I don't mind customs. I'm indifferent to Miis (I never use them, anyway) And prefer stock (2/3/5)

I can play Smash Wii U next weekend.

I'm glad they kept the tornadoes in Hyrule Castle

it looked for a while like they were removed

Yeah, i discovered they kept the tornadoes when I got myself caught in one in a 1-on-1 match online xD.

I personally vote all omegas, customs/miis are alright. I'm not looking for evo competitive just some fun

I find it stupid that you can't create tourneys if you're console banned from Miiverse. How does Tourneys involve with Miiverse? It's doesn't make sense. And I really wanted to create a tourney that is full of Hitler Miis battles called "Hitler revenge."

I've heard Tourney Mode has more issues than that

specifically, this

The heck?

I definitely gotta check next weekend

There is one more thing about Tourneys, which defeat the whole freaking purpose

There is no true 1v1 Tourney matches unless only two people are in a Tourney

-Source-NintendoLife

This kills the entire point in my opinion. As of now, since I'm not near my Wii U I cannot check, but it seems like Tourneys aren't made for real "tournaments" after all.

Also, to turn off items, you need to apparently go to Item Switch, turn items on, and then press ALL OFF.

I view tournaments as more of an online community type of thing, like what Mario Kart 8 had. I'm one of the few who's had a lot of fun with them so far. :/

EDIT: It seems as if this is not the case *le gasp* (never trusting NL again). There is 1v1 "For Glory-style" matches.

Sorry for the misconception.

They probably just didn't find the option to do For Glory, they're as new to this as we are.

Unless I'm blind as well, you can't make your own 1v1 tourney matches. You can only have a FFA 4 player match up, unless you limit the tourney to two players.

Nintendo hosts those 1v1 For Glory Matches, and hatok's post shows why their's is a little less desirable.

I don't know why they wouldn't let the players create a standard bracket tourney, since Nintendo can make one just fine. I have no idea what's going on in the Development Team, but why would they limit people when the mechanic is already there? Very strange, to say the least.

So we can't do regular bracket outside of the button for it on the bottom left of the screen?

So I was meaning to post a pic of the Lucina amiibo I imported, but I've got some extra stuff since then so:

(sorry for bad lighting + flash glare)

Imported Lucina, got Palutena from amazon, and bought the 3DS version so I could play while house sitting. All I'm missing is the Robin amiibo, then I have all the amiibos that I wanted, plus both smash games.

Lucina was creatively named Martha, and I am incapable of beating her. Haven't been able to name Palutena or train her yet, but I'm sure she'll end up just as evil as Martha.

*Impatiently waiting for Lucina figma* Hope she doesn't get delayed AGAIN for like the FIFTH time!

I'm in a dilemma.

Thanks to Your Friendly Neighborhood Shulk, I have noticed that Shulk amiibos are (finally) available online for a decent price. I could buy now and never have to pay $40 for an amiibo ever! (I-I totally wasn't planning to buy a Shulk at $40 at one point! Yup yup!)

HOWEVER!!!!!!

I wanna buy a Wii U Pro Controller (because using the GamePad on the Wii U is garbage, and I wanna get better at Smash). I'm definitely not bad with the GamePad, but I realized that something was holding me back in a lot of stuff, and I believe it's the controller.

A lot of Smash players claim that the GameCube controller is the superior controller, but having went through three of 'em already, they're great for platforming but I don't think I can get used to using them in SSB.

GOOD QUESTION MATE!

I don't have the money.

Now: the thing you've all scrolled down for!

Should I buy the Wii U Pro Controller and risk the price rising for the Shulk amiibo, OR should I pass on the controller for now and get the Monado Boy we've all been waiting for?

I could ALSO buy the amiibo with a controller called the Nyko Pro Commander, but I'm afraid at half the price, I'd only get 1/5th the lifespan. Thoughts?

So I was right. I happened to see a 1v1 tourney on YouTube and thought it was user-created.

Sorry, NL!

Sorry, NL!

If you're definitely sure you want the Shulk amiibo (considering you thought about buying it for $40, I'd say you are), then my advice would be to buy it now. If you wait, the price might shoot back up, and you'll have missed your chance. It is also possible that the price may go down further, but unless there's a reprint I don't see that as likely, and it would basically become a gamble with skewed odds. The Pro Controllers aren't going anywhere in stock or price, so there's no risk in waiting until you can afford one again.

I also had the same issue where I played with the gamepad and just felt off while playing (I think the size of the controller was subtly making my mind trip up, for some reason). I got a pro controller and felt comfortable using it. I don't like it as much as a GameCube controller simply because I love the form factor of the GC (so comfy), but it is completely functional and shouldn't be hard to adapt to if you've been using the gamepad.

That stinks. X_X I hope you get it soon. I've always thought figmas looked really cool, but I've never actually purchased one.
