Oh there are, they already started with the stages. They are probably going to go with the characters as well. 

No. I know the stages are different, but unless they need to cut some characters out of the 3DS version, there won't be Characters exclusives. Confirmed.

In good time. Ness is guaranteed. He is a veteran since the N64 days, I think Lucas may get cut though in favour of another Earthbound character.

No, i doubt Lucas will get cut, i mean that would only leave 2 Mother characters still, and we need more then 2. I think Ness and Lucas should both stay, and another Mother cahracter will be introduced, like THE MASKED MAN WHO HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL TO NOT BE A REPLICA OF LUCAS AND NESS.

Dixie Kong

Dark Samus(With a completely different moveset then Samus' because beside having a similar suit, they are nothing alike and we need an other character from Metroid)

Shulk

Zeal

Aeron

Sonic

Simon Belmont

Sothe

Claus

Galacta-knight

Bowser jr.  

 

And instead of just having color swap ,I'd like to see alternate costumes like they did with Wario in Brawl, but for other character ,like Toon Link with the Outset outfit in Wind Waker,Dr Mario as a costumes instead of a new character ,Link with the golden armor from Twilight Princess,Samus with the REAL fusion suit and not a palette swap ,etc.

We don't need more than 2. Ness was the only character representing Earthbound for two Smash games then they introduced Lucas who was essentially his clone in Brawl. If there will be a new character from Earthbound introduced then I think Lucas will get cut and the new character will be alongside Ness. I know you are a huge fan of the Earthbound/Mother series and want to see more characters and the old stay (I feel the same way about the Fire Emblem part, I really want Marth to stay in the game and represent the series) but I personally don't think there will be more than 2 Earthbound characters, with Ness being one of them.Then again I'll leave Sakurai prove me wrong haha.

Ok, i understand your reasoning, but i really don't think Lucas will get cut. Unlike most Nintendo franchises, Mother only has 3 games, so they can't afford to cut out one of the MAIN CHARACTERS for one of those games, as the main characters are the ones actually representing the Franchises. Seriously. Ness was only representing Earthbound because Sakurai didn't want to put Ninten due to him being exactly like Ness, while Lucas has more differences. Not to mention that Earthbound was more popular then Earthbound 0.  If MOther 3 had come out for the N64, Sakurai said he would've put Lucas in Melee rather then Ness, but due to EB64's cancelation, he had to put Ness back in, and we got him and Lucas in Brawl.

 

I'm really hoping with all my heart that Lucas stays with Ness(who is guaranteed to stay in due to being a 64 veteran) and a new Earthbound character will be brought in, like hte Masked Man, who has so much potential to not be a clone.

When you say Cluas, you mean Claus from Mother 3?

 

Also he should be his Masked Man self if he's in the next Smash Bros, that way he wouldn't be a clone of Lucas.

Yes,I'm talking about him,he was so badass,he's my favorite character in the Mother games so far.And he have a sword so he could totally be different from Lucas

YES! He could have his Lightsaber Sword, his ARM CANNON, his Wings(the ones he has built in him), and his PSI attacks.

I hope Sonic stays in SSB4. Seeing him and Megaman in the same game would be awesome. Especially after seeing them in the crossover comic by Archie.

Pretty sure I've said this before, but I'm 99.9% sure he will be. Nintendo and Sega just formed a partnership, why wouldn't they let Sega's mascot in their newest game? It doesn't make sense to take out characters that people enjoyed using, anyway. Pretty sure a lot of people loved Sonic's inclusion.

Nah, both versions will have the same characters but different stages
