KH13's Musicians Collaborations "All for One, One for All" Project

 

Before that I will introduce myself,

(I would like to apologize for my bad English; English is not my first language)

 

Known as ‘tothecikpah’, ‘flushback’ or ‘アペン’. I remastered/remixing a lot of KH and FF songs before. Truthfully, I only play Guitar, Recorder and little bit of Piano, I can’t read Piano Sheets. I’m not a musician, I’m only a person who like to remixing songs especially KH (visit my soundcloud). There’s already two ‘remastered project’ done by me which is ‘Kingdom Hearts Field Tracks Remastered Collections’ and ‘Final Fantasy IV-XI Music Remastered Collections’. I love music and KH music as well. I’m doing this because I know there are a lot of musicians here in KH13 and I want to make this Project for our love to KH music as well to expand your talent.

I’m very weak with the music language and terms, inform me if there’s a mistake on my writing.

 

 

Overview

Here’s the main idea,

The project is all about covering, remixing and making a new arrangement of the existing KH music make it into one 'fan-made album' (not for sale). There will be 3 types of cover: Orchestral Mix (combination of live and software instruments), Full Remix (full software instruments) and Live Orchestra (full live instruments).

(I will act as a ‘Producer’ of this project.. )

*depends on how many people are involved, we can make it into a small team..doesn't mean we need to follow this.

 

The Teams

Live Instruments

The team will consist of the musicians of KH13. All pianists, violinists, guitarists, etc will be on this team. The team members will provide the live instruments part of the song for the Orchestral Mix Division. Besides, the team will also work for the Live Orchestra Division.

Remix Team

The team will work for the Full Remix Division. The team will consist of DJs who know how to remix the song + using HQ music software. The songs given to this Division will make a full remix of it. As example, the team need to make a full remix of Destiny Island. The arrangement is depend to the team member.

Arrangements Team

 

I think this team need some pro musicians. The team will provide the music sheets for the Live Orchestra and Orchestra Mix Division. Besides, the team will act as ‘arranger’ of some of the songs that can’t be remixed. It’s like ‘full orchestra cover’ without the help of music software (music software only needed to combine all the instruments). Eg: Ventus’ theme, the team will distribute the work for the live instrument team to play the violin, flute or piano part for the Ventus’ song and combine it to make a new arrangement of Ventus’ theme or a cover.

Lyrics & Vocal Team

The team will provide the lyrics and vocals for character’s theme song; Dream Eaters, Namine, Aqua, Roxas and Ventus*.

The Divisions

Orchestral Mix Division (Live Instruments Team)

I will in charge of this division. My job is to make and provide the instrumental version of the song using the music software to the Live Instruments team and combine it to be a song. The song will be consists of Orchestral-like song. Eg: for Lazy Afternoons song, one person will play the flute part of the song, and this part will be mixed with the software instruments. The concept is similar to what Yoko Shimomura did for KHHD Soundtrack.

Here’s the sample: *the first part with live violin, second part with the software clarinet and third part is the instrumental.

Full Remix Division (Remix Team)

Remix team will in charge of this Division. The division’s work will finalize the remix songs made by the remix team. The team will be responsible for the full remix song and non-orchestral-like songs (rock-like song, such as ‘Hazardous Highway’).

Live Orchestra Division (Live Instruments, Arrangements and Lyrics & Vocal Teams)

The job is to supervise the Arrangements and Live Instruments Teams. Plus this division will be responsible for DEARLY BELOVED (KH13 Version) song and full live orchestra songs. I’m planning ‘baroque’ style music.

Development Stages

First Stage: Gathering KH13’s musicians.

Second Stage: forming the teams and divisions members, meeting.

Third Stage: the work starts.

Fourth Stage: Finalize the songs; the song is ready to remixed, combined together.

Fifth Stage: everything is ready. The last part of the stage would be the final version of ‘Dearly Beloved (KH13 Version)’

Sixth Stage: ready to be published. Finalize the album cover..and The first fan-made cover of KH made by the members of KH13!

Of course this is not the final decision. Some will be removed and will be added later. Depends on how many people are involved, instruments the members can play… If you’re interested, post “I’m in” and the instruments that you can play + with bold and red color, don’t forget to follow this topic. If you're going to consider it, nevermind, just post your thoughts below.. I will realy x1000 appreciate it. And I will update the name here.

 

Note that for now, I just wan't to gather all KH13 musicians, I don't care whether you're amateur, pro etc. I wan't to know if there's DJs, composers or singers among kh13 member.

 

It won't take a lot of time, as long that you're doing your part, upload it here and that's it. I think the hardest part is the Live Orchestra part..but it doesn't necessarily included in the project.

 

I hope the project will starts during the summer holiday (around June-August) just before the KHHD release!

So KH13’s musicians! Please invite the other members too… musicians, singer, guitarist, composers, DJs!

 

I really hope it will come true! if you think this is impossible, please recommend me how to make it possible..

Oh yeah.. I should ask DChiuch about this, but I need to know how many people who are interested….

I think this is really interesting and I cannot yet say that "I'm in" but I will definitely consider it. I play Saxophone, Flute and Clarinet fluently. I am also an experienced video editor, and that could be of some use at some poin. But I am also an extremely busy Conservatory musician.

 

I will definitely follow the progress of this thread.

This sounds awesome! ^_^ I play the alto saxophone and the guitar (classical/ acoustic with an electric plugin) I don't want to say 'I'm in' and make a commitment that I'm not 100% sure about yet. But I'm definitely interested! ^_^

wouldn't there also need to be a way to make sure everyone has quality recording devices? Also, wouldn't you need someone to whom which we would send these files? And wouldn't we also need to make sure that each musician was EXACTLY on time?Perhaps you could ask people to send in sample recordings that way you can get an idea of their playing skills and their recording quality. ^^ Just a tip!

yup.. I thinking about it and I'm planning to do it later (Stage 2).. for now, I just want to gather all the KH13 musicians... whether there are amatuer, pro, beginner etc.. I want to know if there is a composer, DJ's or singer among the KH13 members ... ^^

I'd love to be a part of this, but you'd have to extend stage one for about a month, because I won't be able to participate until after July 17th.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I could probably help with arranging songs if this ever picks up or if you need an extra set of arrangers' hands. I played the alto sax for about 7 years, though the last time I touched it was...well, a while ago, so I doubt I'd be much help there.

This sounds like an amazing project! I'm in! I'm a mediocre piano player and vocalist. I'm a hopeless sheet music reader but I'm a great at playing by ear. Loking forward to participating!

I'm not sure if I am suited for a collab or how I can help out because

1. I don't work well with deadlines

2. I have very little time in any for music these days due to work

3. I have not studied music composition/theory properly (Im doing that now and I still suck at it haha)

4. Most importantly, the samples I use for composition are outdated and feel very video gamey and I realise that many people criticised me for that for my time on youtube, Im still waiting for my old computer to be upgraded before I can start using some live-instrument samples for composition.

 

And even now, the compositions that I compose feel extremely lifeless to me - I could really feel the emotion from those sample songs you posted earlier. I need to be able to touch the hearts of others with the music I make before I can consider myself a musician.
